Questions about Maxpedition 12-Inch X 5-Inch Bottle Holder
Q:
Has anyone tried this with the Hydro Flask Insulated Water Bottle & Beer Growler? The 64 oz one. It's dimensions are 10.9" X 4.9" so it'll be close.
Answer: I have a Fifty/Fifty, double wall, 640z Growler and it fits with ease. It is 4.25" wide. I can fit my Jetboil Sumo and MiniMo too (4.75"). Some Mojo to fit the Jetboil.
Answer: Doesn't fit. I tried many times but it just won't happen. im actually looking to find one that will and stumbled upon your question.
Answer: Thanks for asking... also made my way here with the same question. Back to searching...
Answer: We tired this at work the other day, you know it doesnt work!
Q:
Does the Maxpedition 12 x 5 bottle holder have a drainage grommet at the bottom?
Answer: Yes it does. It is in the center of the bottom of the bottle holder. It's also the best holder I've ever used. Hold my hydroflask thermos perfectly.
Q:
How will this fit a 40 oz Kleen Canteen wide mouth bottle with Gsi nesting cup. Will it be a good fit or is the bottle going to rattle around?
Answer: I have that exact combination in Maxpedition's 10x4 bottle holder. No rattle at all, but the cup fits so tightly down in the bottom that it takes a bit of fiddling to get it out after the bottle slides right out.
Answer: Its gonna rattle. I use this for kleen kanteens 64oz stainless steel bottle. I attached it o my eberlestock f4 terminator pack. Both must haves for outdoorsy stuff
Answer: I have this case and both my 40oz Kleen and my 32oz Nalgene fit in it. It's also an amazing case and double as a travel bag for my Big Jambox!
Answer: I have no idea how this will fit the bottle you've mentioned. What I can tell you is that anything you can pack within these dimensions will need a sound-proof barrier in between to isolate any sort of rattle. The dimensions are true and un-expandable. Let me know if you have any questions!!
Answer: It will not rattle since the pouch is padded, however you will have some "dead space" of about 1 inch at the top. This can be fixed with a space saving puck and some velcro that will serve as an additional storage space negating the "dead space".
Q:
I want to atach my Maxpedition 12"x5" bottle holder to my 5.11 Rush 12. What size Blackhawk Speed Clips should I use? Thanks. What size
Answer: The speed clips work on the same principle of length as the Maxpedition tacties, so a number five speed clip will work to attach the bottle holder to anything that can hold it.
Q:
Can this item be attached to a person's belt or waist?
Answer: Yes it can Nate, but you'll want shoulder strap support; it's a big bottle holder. I'd attach it to a padded belt on a fanny pack or better yet- go to KIFARU and get a SCOUT or MOLEE EXPRESS. Incredible bags, astonishing, really. The POWERPULL PALS BELT is the way to go for additional $
Q:
Will this fit a swell bottle?
Answer: The Swell bottles come in various sizes: 9, 17, and 25 oz. I believe that the Maxpedition 12 in X 5 inch will accommodate the 9 and 17 oz bottles but I am not sure about the 25oz bottle.
Answer: Compare the measurements of your bottle to the dimensions of the product. I have no idea what a "swell bottle" is. I used mine to hold my Jet Boil stove with room to spare for some collapsible bowls and an extra fuel tank.
Q:
Does a Jetboil Sumo fits inside of it? Thanks!
Answer: After a very simple look at the Jetboil website you'll find the measurement is 4.9 inches and looking at the tittle of the Maxpadition 5x12 bottle holder you can only estimate the possibility of it fitting inside. That being said the bottle holder will stretch a bit after use. " All the power of the internet and we as a intellectual race still require human interaction to solve our problems." (Steve Jobs)
Answer: Juan, I gave my Maxpedition to a friend, but I went and looked at both products and compared, you can do the same right here on Amazon. The Maxpdition has a 5" dia, and the Jetboil has a 4.9" dia per thier discriptions, so that looks like a GTG (good ta go). The height is not a problem, I assume the Sumo all fits within itself, so should work. Iffn not the Maxpdition can be used as a water carrier, on that I highly recommend a Hydro Flask, awesome insulated stainless steel liquid container, you will be amazed at how long it keeps your beverages/soups/liquids cold or hot. Hope that helps.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Jetboil flash will fit. but very tightly. check the diameter of the sumo vs the flash and if its wider it will definetly not fit.
Answer: I wouldn't chance it. If the sumo is much bigger than the Jetboil SOL it probably won't fit, however my Optimus Crux lite will fit in there with an extra fuel can.
Q:
Does it have molle strips to attach it to a backpack?
Answer: Just to clarify for some people, it does have the MOLLE webbing on the back but it doesn't have straps to attach this pouch to another MOLLE equip item so you will need your own method to attach it to a bag or vest (paracord, malice or one of the many other products or methods out there).
Answer: Yes, 5 rows.
Answer: Yes it does. Great product
Answer: Hi Caleb. Yes it does.
Answer: Yes it does
Answer: Yes
Q:
does a jetboil sumo fit ? the numbers look good, but has anyone used this product with a sumo? Thank you very much!
Answer: I have the Jet Boil flash in this holder. Room for an extra tank and a couple of silicone bowls. The Sumo looks larger diameter, so I don't think it would fit. Too bad, as this is an excellent product and very convenient for my system.
Answer: I have the Jetboil Flash, I can fit a standard gas tank, inside the cup, and all the accessories, French press, pot stand and the outside pocket holds my utensils and misc. and it's just barely the right size. The sumo will most likely not fit sorry. But I love this if that helps.
Answer: I just tried it with my Flash. It FITS plus a 8oz.MSR fuel can on top. The fit for the both of them is tight but getting it in and out is very manageable. If the SUMO is wider it may not work.
Answer: Yes, I used this with my jet boil and they're plenty of room. Best purchasei bought to date. Trust me!
Q:
Do you know if a JetBoil Sumo fits in? Thanks!
Answer: I seriously doubt it. The smaller one barely fits.
Answer: I know the regular jet boil fits
Answer: Yes!
Q:
Will this hold a baby food pouch and if so will it hold more than one?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: To give it a size reference, it will hold a large Nalgene bottle, or a jetboil, this should hold a bottle or baby food just fine.
Answer: Yes and Yes..
Q:
Would a stainless steel Thermos King 40 oz fit in this holder? The dimensions seem tight.
Answer: I have a 40 oz Avex stainless water bottle that fits just fine.
Answer: I bought a Java jet boiler for this case and the case was huge not only could I fit the Java jet boiler but also I had 3 inches of clearance on top side pockets this has so much room it would easily fit what you're asking for
Answer: Measure the circumference & I'll get back to you ASAP...
Answer: Not sure, I returned this because it is not a mexpeditiin it is a cheap knock off.
Q:
Will this hold the the standard nalgene flask? Not the round bottle, just to be clear, but the 32oz oasis style, that's not cylindrical.
Answer: Actually yes. And oddly enough it isn't completely awful. There is also a bunch of space left.
Q:
What size tac-ties should I buy to attach this to my Maxpedition Falcon-2 backpack?
Answer: I would get the bigger (5inch) Tac Ties if you have the bigger 12X5 Bottle holder, comes with 4 of them. You could ask the Maxpedition guys themselves and they would be able to give you better info I'm sure, but in my opinion I myself would get the bigger ones sense they are designed for the bigger 12X5 bottle holder. Hope that helps!
Answer: On the back where the clip is you have five rows of webbing to attach sewn close together so you can use tac tie up to six inches long. On the sides there are four rows of webbing sewn in for a total distance of seven inches with one inch gap between, so you could use four inch or six inch tac ties.
Answer: The long ones. I believe they are 5 inches long
Q:
will it accomodate a metal cup for a 32oz nalgene bottle?
Answer: yes, however you will have way way too much room. my suggestion is get a 40 oz bottle, and a gsi cup. the bottle will sit nicely in the gsi cup and then you will have some room up in top of pouch. the 40 oz sits nice and snug but not too tight in the 12x5 , go with a smaller pouch if you want a smaller bottle. however I recommend you up to the 40 oz . I use a Kleen Kanteen stainless steel.
Answer: Yeah... with 3 or 4 more inches of space up top. I think they make a smaller version for the 32oz Nalgene bottles specifically.
Answer: Absolutely! It fits it just perfect. I have both the bottle and the cup in there.
Answer: Yes it will with no problems
Answer: Yes, with room to spare.
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Anyone know if the toaks 1100 pot/pan set will fit inside
Answer: The toaks dimensions are: Pot: 4 1/2" (115mm) (Dia) x 4 3/8" (110mm) (H)
Answer: I've got a Toaks that rides in the bottom of mine (40 ounce Clean Canteen rides on top of it) but I'm not sure what size the Toaks is. It's about 5 inches across if that helps.
Answer: Not sure, however I can tell you my JetBoil Flash fits in it with a extra fuel can in the bottom.
Answer: Fits the 40oz klean canteen , with room on the top
Answer: Not sure... mine was a knockoff I sent it back... be sure it maxpedition when you receive it
Q:
Will a Camelbak mag chute 50oz water bottle fit in this?
Answer: If the Camelbak Nag Chute 50oz water bottle is the same width & height as an Essentia Water, 50oz. water bottle then Yes, it will definitely fit into the Maxpedition 12" X 5" bottle holder, I Hope this helps...
Answer: The bottle I have is 48 ounces and it fits, so I suppose this would too. Dimensions on the carrier are 12x5 inches so measure your Camelbak & see
Q:
can this product hold a jetboil flash?
Answer: The 5x12 should be able to fit the jet boil flash and a can of gas or two.
Answer: Yes it will hold a flash.
Answer: I bought this for my jet boiler. And it fits perfectly.. with enough room for a few other things.. five star
Answer: Yes that’s what I carry in mine with a extra bottle of fuel and coffee press
Q:
Do I have to buy separate "tac ties" in order to attach it to my Molle vest?
Answer: Yeah, you'll have to buy some fasteners.
Q:
How close is the foliage green color to od green?
Answer: They are not even close.
Answer: Not close in my opinion
Answer: not close. quite a different color
Q:
Can anyone please tell me, what nesting cup will fit on the bottom of this pouch that also fits snug with a 64 oz klean kanteen? thank you kindly.
Answer: K.K., if the nesting cup is the same cylinder size as a 50oz. water bottle then it will fit nicely into the Maxpedition 12" by 5"...I Compare them from the bottom, I Hope this helps...
Q:
Does this fit a mínimo jetboil?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: It fits my regular Jetboil perfectly. If the minimo is any wider it won't fit.
Answer: I know it fits the JetBoil Flash with room to spare on the top. It fits the circumference perfectly. Not sure about the Minino's dimensions though.
Answer: Not sure, but it does work with a JetBoil Flash with room on top.
Answer: If you go on YouTube, there's a mini~video briefing on the Maxpedition giving you an idea of how much it could hold...I hope this helps
Q:
will this hold a 48oz nalgene?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I am not sure about the Nalgene 48 oz bottle but I do know it will hold a 64 oz Klean Kanteen and still be zipped closed. Hopes it helps.
Answer: Yup! Holds mine and also holds a 40 Oz hydro flask.
Answer: Yes it fits with room to spare to nest pots and cups. The 64 ounce Kleen Kanteen will fit also, but is too hard to remove unless you use this tip, then it removes easily. Encase the 64 oz KK in a women's nylon stocking and it removes very easily!
Answer: I have a 40 oz hydra flask and there's a little room to spare. Definitely will be a tight fit. I will say this bottle holder is awesome!
Q:
Does anyone know if this will hold the 38 oz stainless steel nalgene and a 100 gram propane canister?
Answer: Mine Holds a 32 oz naalgene bottle with plenty of room to spare, About three inches on top, mine will hold a 14oz /400grm bottle of propane. Not both at the same time though!
Answer: This Maxpedition water bottle holder will hold a 40 oz Lifeline stainless steel water bottle with the 1.75" tall black plastic cap in place and an 8 oz (227gram) propane canister stacked on top. There is definitely no room to spare, but the heavy duty zipper closes fine, plus there is a front pocket on the bag and MOLLE loops all around for extra gear.
Answer: They will fit in the 12" model.
Answer: YES!
Q:
Would a vargo bot fit in this?
Answer: I use a Vargo BOT in my 10 x 5. I enclose it with a gallon ziplock for easy removal. The BOT is an easy fit in the 12 x 5 with room to spare!
Q:
Will this hold a klean kanteen insulated 64oz ?
Answer: Please give the height of the kanteen & measure around it as well & I'll let you know...
Answer: I have both and at first it is a very tight fit, but after placing it in there and leaving it for awhile and using it, it fits a bit snug but perfect, I also bought an extra cap, the sports cap, and it is placed perfectly behind the cap on my bottle and it closes, again a bit snug but perfect!
Q:
Is it fit for "stanley classic vacuum bottle,25oz",please?
Q:
Will a msr windburner stove fit in this?
Answer: According to Amazon, the dimensions of the MSR is 9x5 and this is a 12x5...so it might be snug or perfect. The height would be enough for an extra can of gas.
Answer: I have a Jetboil in mine. Compare your MSR to that which should be very close. I have my Maxpedition attached to my bicycle handlebar. Very well made.
Q:
Will a Grayl Geopress water purifier fit in this?
Answer: The Maxpedition bottle holder dimensions are:
Answer: Yes it can hold The Grayl Geopress Water Purifier, with some extra space I might add, I just looked up the specs from the Grayl website to be certain, Glad to Help...
Answer: It should. My 40oz water bottle fits with a little room to spare.
Answer: Yes it will fit
Q:
Will this ever be available in od green again!? that's the only color that i'm interested in..
Q:
Will this 2-Inch X 5-Inch Bottle Holder fits Klean Kanteen 64oz flat cap wide mouth bottle?
Answer: According to Klean Kanteen's website your bottle is 4.5" wide and less that 10" tall. It should just fit.
Answer: Not sure about the Klean Kanteen, but I stuff a Jet Boil with one large size propane canister on top without any problem.
Answer: I believe it will. Mine can hold my grand trunk double with the straps and there is still some extra room.
Q:
How hard would it be on the shoulder if I was carrying a 64 Oz stainless steel kleen kanteen?
Answer: I use mine for my Jet Boil stove and don't carry it on my shoulder. The strap is fairly narrow. A full 64 ounce KK weights close to five pounds. How hard is very subjective. I wouldn't want to carry five pounds with a narrow strap for hiking. So depends on how long you intend to carry it. You could pad the shoulder strap and make it more comfortable.
Answer: It depends how weight sensitive you may be and the time and distance of your travel. In place of carrying the bottle pack over the same side and shoulder you might try crossing the strap over your head to the opposite shoulder to help balance the weight on longer hikes.
Answer: If u have a good strap it will carry good
Q:
Will it fit a 36oz Yeti Rambler?
Answer: Yes,i use a 64oz pathfinder stainless bottle with cup and lid also a maxpedition can case fits perfect !!
Answer: I'm pretty confidant that it will. Mine right now is carrying a 40oz Kleen Kanteen, a cup, lid and and alcohol stove in Maxpedition double "dip can" pouch. So it's roomy.
Q:
does it come with the attachments?
Answer: No, it come with the ability to add attachments but has no attachments.
Answer: What you see is what you get... and it works perfectly for me, since I attach it to my pack's exterior. That is precisely how it is expected to be used!
Answer: Mine did not come with anything. The molle attachment straps and shoulder strap, if desired were extra.
Answer: Not exactly sure what "attachments" you're referring to, but it includes a shoulder strap, and the front zippered pocket is attached to the bottle holder pouch. Hope that helps!
Answer: It does not
Answer: No
Answer: No
Q:
Think it'd fit a telescopic fishing pole in it?
Answer: Can`t really tell without knowing what your fishing pole dimensions are, but I`m using it to carry Jetboil Sumo cup and it fits snugly after I removed the internal padding - you can check its dimensions and figure out. Hope that helps.
Answer: I do not think so, but you could measure it. It is about the size for a normal thermos canteen. It is well made, and attaches to my go bag nicely.
Answer: It fits a Jetboil stove, cup, and large fuel canister. I don't know how big your fishing pole is when collapsed.
Answer: I don't have that kind of pole, but it will hold a bottle of wine. Use that as a point of reference.
Answer: I would just look up whichever pole your interested in and compare diminisions? You already know the Maxpedition is 12x5
Answer: Alcohol stove & cooking kit.
Answer: I only used it for aJetboil
Q:
Will this fit the optimus elektra fe cook system?
Answer: No the Elektra is too wide I believe. I have a glacier stainless .6 liter cup at the bottom of mine and it is a tight fit. I am pretty sure the cooking system is bigger around than that.
Answer: I have my Jetboil cooker in mine so you can compare that to the elektra. There is also enough room in the lid portion for toilet paper. I have mine attached to my bicycle handlebars for bikepacking.
Q:
Will this fit a 64 oz Yeti bottle?
Answer: It fits my 32oz great. Not sure if 64oz will work. Might be really snug fit if at all.
Answer: Yes it does, snug fit but it gets easier to pull in and out.
Q:
Can anyone tell me if this will fit the 64 ounce Klean Kanteen? It's what I already have and would like to avoid buying another bottle.
Answer: Yes, it's not too tight and fits well, no nylon stocking required. It's the only carrier that I have found that completely encloses the 64 oz KK.
Answer: Yes... just enclose the KK in a women's nylon stocking to easily remove the bottle. Otherwise its just too hard to remove!
Q:
Anyone know if this will fit an diy ikea hobo stove?
Answer: It fit my jet boiler with extra room to spare. If that's helps
Q:
Will this hold the solo cook system? The solo woodburning burner, 3 pan kit, 40 oz stainless water bottle, small bottle of fuel and some odds and ends?...
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I dont know. I bought this to hold Jawbone Big Jambox.
Q:
Has anyone tried a 1.5 liter evian bottle in it?
Answer: No.
Q:
will this hold a 70-200mm canon lens
Answer: On the Cannon web site the lens dimensions are 3.4" x 7.8". This product has inside dimensions of 5" X 12" inches so the simple answer is it will fit. The "official" lens case for this lens is around $60. This is around half of that. Go for it.
Answer: I just tried to fit my Azanuma 80-250mm telephoto lens fully extended (including glare shield extended) and it fit with plenty of room to spare. I could actually place (2) 4"x4" photography beanbags, rolls of film, lens cleaning wipes or other small accessories in the main compartment along with the telephoto lens.
Answer: If the max diameter and length of the lens is 3.5 x 7.8 in. then it should. My jetboil is 4.1 x 7.2 and fits just fine. I put a extra fuel can at the bottom to act as a spacer for a snugger fit.
Answer: Circumference internally is actually about 10 inches; wide enough to stuff a standard roll of toilet paper. . I have also put a 16.5 liter propane bottle in there. The depth is a usable 11 inches (with hood). Should be pleanty.
Answer: can't say for sure. i use it for the Big jam box, so if you look up the dimensions of the BJB you can add about 2 inches to the length and thats the volume space inside.
Q:
I paid. Please fast delivery.
Q:
what is the intended purpose of webbing strap mounted over the molle webbing on the back of the pouch?
Answer: It is an adjustable shoulder strap.
Answer: I think it is so that you can lengthen the strap and use it to carry over your shoulder like a handbag
Q:
Anyone know if this will fit an diy ikea hobo stove?
Answer: It fit my jet boiler with extra room to spare. If that's helps
Q:
Does this size fit a JetBoil Sol?
Answer: Yes I am currently using this with my jet boil sol and it works great. I also can fit utensils and my coffee press in the front pouch of the case and still have some room. The jetboil will fit slightly snug but it is nice. I have enough room to have my msr bowls on top of that.
Answer: yes it fits the jetfoil sol with a bit of room below or above it, I put a couple of small containers with cream and sugar for my coffee, it's a little tight but does fit.
Answer: I'm not sure if it will hold a JetBoil Sol, but it does hold a HydroFlask 44 ounce bottle with room to spare. Hope this helps you.
Answer: Sol wil fit into the smaller 10x4 Maxp. bottle holder, this will accept the Sumo can if you cut the foam padding from inside, as I did. Maybe there are not-so-tight tolerances between different manufacturing batches of these, but mine required padding to be removed to fit the Sumo.
Answer: Yes it does. I own that jet boil as well and bought it for that reason. I also bought a stainless steel cup to fit in the bottom because the sol is shorter. It raises it up making it easier to get out as well and u can fit an extra fuel can inside the cup while store. Saving space.
Answer: Yes. It fits my sol along with a 230 gram fuel canister on top and bottom. Or one canister and small cup.
Answer: Not sure what Jetboil I had, but it fit perfectly in the Maxpedition 12 incher.
Answer: My JetBoil Flash fits with no problem. The Flash is bigger than the Sol.
Answer: don't know, but it will hold a large bottle of wine, or a 40 ounce Kleen Kanteen for a size comparison.
Answer: Yes. I keep a jetboil flash and a fuel canister in mine. There is still a little room left possibly for a second fuel canister.
Q:
Is there a way to attach this bottle to a pack (rush12). With out it flipping around when there is a bottle (hydroflask 40oz). In it?
Answer: I'm not sure what you are asking, but I have mine attached to my Maxpedition Riftblade. It is very securely attached to the side using the mole web attachments. I love this bottle holder because it fits my Stanley stainless steel thermos for hot coffee anywhere, anytime I want.I get no unwanted movement with it, even when it has all of my cooking hardware (kitchen) stuffed in it.
Answer: The molle attachment points shown on the front of the bottle holder are also present on the back side. So if you have Molle compatible attachment system on your pack, it should work.
Answer: Sure, get some tac-ties and you'll be able to fasten the bottle holder to your pack fairly easily.
Answer: This works well with a military style back pack. Molle system works the best
Q:
Will jbl extream fit in this?
Answer: I don’t own that speaker. I have the Charge 2, but I am pretty confident that it will. I just went to YouTube and watched a review. Sounds like it will be snug. I fit my jetboil stove with some accessories so I think you might be on to something!
Answer: Yes it will, but to see for yourself just in case I'm wrong, go to your local Wal-Mart, Target or wherever they sell 50 oz. Bottled water (Essentia/Smart water etc.) Carry the JBL speaker w/You & compare the width & height, Those are the dimensions I used, I Hope this helps, Feel free to ask more questions, I'll be more than happy to help out...
Q:
Will the 64oz simple modern summit fit in this? dimension states 4.8" diameter
Answer: My 64oz Klean Kanteen fits in perfectly, like they were made for each-other, so I would assume anything 64oz would fit ok.
Q:
Why does this item have a prop 65 warning? is it the teflon coating?
Answer: Yes it is the Teflon coating stain protection
Product reviews of Maxpedition 12-Inch X 5-Inch Bottle Holder
Adam S. : love it
This works great with my "Hydro Flask 40oz" bottle. There is plenty of extra room for me to fit my "GSI Outdoors Glacier Stainless Bottle Cup/Pot" on top or bottom of my Hydro Flask 40oz bottle. It clips to my 5.11 72Hour backpack and works great as an accessorie for the pack. I have two "German 4 Piece Stainless Steel Eating Utensil" sets in the side zippered pocket. I like it because it stops the clanking noise from my Hydro Flask when I'm backpacking or driving around with the pack in my truck. Sometimes the Hydro Flask will swing around and make annoying noises. It comes with a nice long stap so you can wear it by it's self if need be. Great buy, I would recomend to anyone. Maxpedition 12"x5" bottle holder works great and is made to last.
Mike : Conflicted - well made overall, but awful zippers
Bought both the 10 x 4 and 12 x 5 Maxpedition bottle holders to use as lens pouches. I made my purchase directly from Amazon, and did receive actual Maxpedition product (others have complained about counterfeit from some third party sellers). The construction of them is quite good - they're well padded, well stitched, and the material feels substantial. Their space is also fairly in-line with the advertised size.
In the 10 x 4, I am able to store my 17-50mm F2.8 with its lens hood stowed, 18-200mm with lens hood stowed, and a thin foam divider. Each lens is approximately 3.5" in diameter with its hood, the 17-50mm F2.8 is about 4.5" long with both caps and the 18-200mm is about 5" with both caps.
In the 12 x 5, I am able to keep my 50-150mm F2.8 (same size as a 70-200mm) also with lens hood stowed, as well as its tripod collar, and the quick-detach plate I keep mounded on the tripod collar foot. That lens is about 4" in diameter across the lens hood and just under 9" long with both caps, though it is wider across the axis with the foot and plate (closer to 5"). Because of the tripod collar it definitely does need the larger of the two cases (if I took the hood collar off I could get it in the smaller case). That said, in the larger 12 x 5 pouch there is room to spare. If I keep the pouch I may get the Maxpedition can case, keep filters in it, and stow it in the lid of the 12 x 5 case.
The reason for 3 stars on both pouches is because the zippers are awful. It may be because of how they are stored and shipped, but that doesn't change the fact that they're awful to use. They arrived smushed flat, which makes me suspect they were stored that way, and the zipper hangs up on the "corners" that formed where they were flattened. Opening the zippers isn't so bad, but closing them is a royal pain in the butt. I've tried repeatedly opening and closing them to see if it helps, and it might a bit, but hasn't made a significant difference yet. Storing them with a large container like a thermos to stretch them out and get rid of the creases might help, but if they don't get better before their return period is up, I may have to return them.
DB BluBlock Productions : Huge, Sturdy, Heavy.
I keep a big Kleen Kanteen in the main pouch and it fits like a glove. The side pouch holds foil and thin items for my mess kit. It also holds a small fuel can in with my water container. There are some better light weight options out there (Camelbak makes one). This sucker is indestructible and ousts the other brands in quality. Comes down to pack size, use, and how much of a besting it's going to take. Mounts on the side of my pack very well.
DrP : Works great to hold a Ninja 90 cu in 4500 psi HPA bottle
Purchased to carry / hold a Ninja 90 cubic inch 4500 psi air tank. It fits perfectly without the remote valve attached. With the remote valve attached, the top cannot be zipped closed. This is not really an issue as the bottle is held very snug in the holder.
The materials and construction are excellent. Will definitely purchase again when needed.
REWB : Big size
The only thing I can say to improve this bottle-holder would be to make the attached pouch a little thicker! I have mine set-up as a small emergency kit, there’s lots of room to hold plenty of stuff but I believe I could fit one of those heavy duty space blankets along with the other gear I have in it if it was just an inch thicker.
Big Lebowski : its awsome
Rated five stars for its usefulness can carry all my lunch and cooking equipment in one convenient pack which consists of 1 Stanley cook cup 1 stainless steel nesting cup 1 ultralight back pack burner 1 8oz can mixed fuel 1 can sardines 1 can soup 1 spoon 1 fork 1 trash bag 1 bag sani wipes (just in case) If there was one thing negative to say I would only suggest a less flimsy carry strap but I wrapped mine up with 75 feet of para cord which made it much better. I would recommend this to anyone with a jet boil or set up such as mine that would like a convenient place to keep and protect it with. It is of solid build and quality materials and expect to get many years of use from it
Cheyenne Williams : Perfect for a cook set, hammock or water bottle.
I chose a Maxpedition 12X5 for either my cook set with dish wear or as an alternative place for storing my hammock when hiking. The hammock fits a little snug but it works! The insulation of the water bottle holder is impressive to say the least. I've read that the insulation is enough to withstand even Saharan heat for hours and still manage to keep the contents cold. If you are using it as a stand alone system then it work perfect because it comes with a really nice pouch. However, I used 5 inch Blackhawk speed clips (which I also recommend) to attach it and that was a pain but after It was said and done, I can promise you that it will never come off again unless I want it to. It almost looks like it's a part of the bag. You can't go wrong with this purchase and the price is worth it for the quality.
Louis : My new kitchen pouch
This large Maxpedition bottle holder makes a great pouch for all of mt backpacking kitchen needs. I holds Isobutane canisters of all sizes, along with stove, pots and cooking utensils. There is even enough room for fire making kit and maybe a couple of noodle lunches. Sturdy construction makes it standup to the riggers of the back country.
Terry : Fits 70-200 mm f2.8 lens
I brought this to use as a lens case for a Tamron 70-200 mm f2.8 lens. It fits like it was made for it! This with the lens shade in shooting position and with a rear lens cap.
One concern was the metal grommet in the bottom. I was concerned it might scratch my lens, especially my wide angle since the front element is curved.
I solved this by cutting a 1/2" thick piece of closed cell foam. This was cut in about a 4 1/2" circle and fits nicely in the bottom of the pouch.
The pouch is mounted on a molle chest rig and keeps my lens handy. I did have a difficulties with the Maxpedition Tac-ties. Maybe just a bad day but could never get both in place. Currently it's mounted with zip-ties but will probably swap out with Blackhawk speed strips.
The front pouch is big enough to easily hold an iPhone 6 in a heavy case, an altoid tin and a micro fiber cloth.
Great build quality as usual for Maxpedition. Only negatives at the Tac-ties and a strap on the rear that's not removable. I just folded it up and stuffed it behind the pouch.
Marc : Great!!
I use this to carry my Pathfinder bottle cooking kit and fits it fits perfect. Used many times in my backpacking trips and is holding on. Great qualit! Could cost a little bit less, but thats maxpedition prices..
Erin F. : 12" means interior space
I have a taller/larger water bottle than most because its one of the taller hydro flasks. it keeps my beverages nice and cold or nice and hot. So I bought the 12" bottle holder for my Maxpedition backpack. The holder seems huge and is. That 12" is the inside dimension not the exterior, be aware of this. The unit its self is bigger because the bag seems to be somewhat insulated. It should keep a regular water bottle from heating up due to the outside temps. The drain hole will be great for condensation.
I might eventually get the smaller bottle holder they also sell for my regular water bottles.
either way I really like the quality of the item. I know I won't be wondering where my bottle has wandered off to on my next hike.
JOHN : Still holding up!
I had this bottle holder for approximately 3 years now. I used this almost every single day at work. It holds my 40oz Hydro Flask with no problem. This thing will last for long long long time. No stitches had ever came off and Velcro is still holding strong! I highly recommend this holder.
The inside padding is still intact and no signs of wear and tear! The front pocket is big enough to carry a portable battery pack, phone charger wires..I do not recommend the front pocket for anything bigger than your phone because it can be little tight with the bottle inside.
Two thumbs up!
SD 619 : Great for Big Jambox
This is a great 12 x 5 pack. Though it is listed as a bottle holder, I am using mine for a Big Jambox that many have suggested. My Bluetooth speaker fits snug within the pack. There was just enough room at the very top of the pack in the main compartment for the power cord to fit in. The side pocket of the pack I use to house the USB cord and any other miscellaneous items. What I love the most about this is the fact that it is just has enough padding to protect the Bluetooth speaker.
Marc : Great!!
I use this to carry my Pathfinder bottle cooking kit and fits it fits perfect. Used many times in my backpacking trips and is holding on. Great qualit! Could cost a little bit less, but thats maxpedition prices..
KBurg : Fantastic!!!
I got this for my husband for Father's Day along with a jetboil flash and a small propane canister. It all fits in there perfectly!!!! I bought it because of the reviewers who said they did the same thing. Those jetboils aren't the cheapest things and it is nice to have such a great product that is so durable to protect it and make it easy to pack around for him. Needless to say he loves it, so thanks to Amazon for always delivering on time and with great packing, and thanks to maxpedition for a great product!!!
Jose : Jet boil fits perfect
Go this to use it with my jetboil flash. Fits perfect and has room for another container on top plus utensils etc. I also attached my K-bar bk7 knife to the side using the webbing. works great. Great for a compact hiking set up.

Brennan : Good addition to Rush 12 Bag
Bought this in order to attach it to my using . Construction of the bottle holder is good, and the padding on the inside is nice touch.
It's definitely bigger than I expected since I wanted it just to store my inside (which fits with no issues).
Only cons are the pouch in the front feels like a lazy afterthought since its just molle webbing on the inside. Also wish that the strap on the back was detachable. Honestly minor details that don't affect the utility - happy to recommend it.
DrAudio : Love it! Rugged and functional, nothing compares to the quality in Maxpedition products.
This thing is MASSIVE!! It will hold a 1 gallon growler (I bought the Smoky Mountain brand) but just barely. I had to oil 'er down and shove it in there but it fits! Seriously though, Maxpedition products are pricey but extremely well made and this bottle holder is no exception. Just don't be surprised when it arrives and you see how big this thing is. The zipper is superb and the it also comes with a carry strap.
blade : Perfect fit for Jetboil stove
Bought just for my Jetboil stove system can carry full size( larger one) spare fuel can with it. Great for keeping from damage and stores spoons, forks and other cooking gear in pocket. The stove will quit probably before pouch does. Not bad for my use but bulky for a hiking.
Reid B. : Fits my Jetboil Flash stove really well.
Bought this to protect and organize my jetboil supplies. Padded and a great size to get that job done with room for the stove and a big fuel canister.
Jake Keller : Been building survival kits into these for day hikers. ...
Been building survival kits into these for day hikers. Works very well. There is extra room under your standard Nalgene bottle for a pocket chainsaw, and this after you use a fitted cup, I think they are called glacier cups. I added on an ESEE knife (mollee) and first aid kit with fire kit in the main existing pouch. With a shoulder sling, its something someone would grab and go with, when they would not take a day pack. The idea of "take the water" and the added features works for more people than you'd think.
yard-dart2 : Purchased this for my Jetboil kit and it fits great even with a larger fuel canister
Purchased this for my Jetboil kit and it fits great even with a larger fuel canister, it slides right out no problem. I purchased the cheap knock-off version from Ebay only to find it was too small in diameter to slip in and out without major effort. This is better because of the 5" diameter and 12" height for those small extras that go with your Jetboil kit, plus the double zipper lid/top and larger side pouch.

Anon Ymous : Lens Caddy
This is a large cannister, and it adequately holds my Sigma 35mm 1.4 HSM and Canon 50mm 1.8II while simultaneously sheathed inside a Lowpro case for each lens, respectively. As such, it makes an excellent protective lens transport case. Combined w/ a Colossus versi-pack, it's a little big so that when filled it will sag a bit, but it makes a very effective and protective transport system for a full-frame DSLR and a couple of lenses. I also have the 10" bottle holder as well, and I prefer it to the larger one for balancing and aesthetics, but on a long-term trip through adverse conditions (jungle-trekking) the 12" allows me to consolidate more to one partition and offer the capability to use a case-within-a-case for added protection of gear. The 10" version will only hold the sigma lens and hood alone, naked. Zipper is hard to work with, but in shady urban areas and crowds in the third world, that's probably a good thing ;) The construction is typical Maxpedition, which is synonymous for tough and durable. Pouch is well-padded and once tac-tied down, it's not going anywhere.
Chris Storzillo : Excellent Purchase
Excellent buying experience. Item was exactly what I ordered and was shipped quickly and professionally. I purchased this to transport my JetBoil Flash in for all of my Boy Scout camping trips. This works perfectly for this task. I can even put in an extra fuel can so I'll never run out while I'm in the field. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to do the same as I did. It also provides excellent protection for my $100 JetBoil purchase.
Jeff Johnson : Great piece of gear.
I put together a kit with my biomass stove and Stanley 2 person cook set and full capability to make fresh coffee for 2 anywhere anytime. All fits in the bottle bag with fire kit, knife, and shoulder strap. I keep it in my Jeep for trailside or in my boat for a shore fresh coffee break.
Brian Hollifield : Great for camping.
I got this to carry my Jetboil and to protect and keep it safe - this is PERFECT ! You can keep your Jetboil, accessories and additional fuel all in this with a little room to spare - also, if you have the Jetboil utensils ( or others that are small ) they will fit in the pocket in the front. Durable and rugged.
James S. : This is the size that I should have started with.
This size allows you to carry everything you need that doesn't really fit in the 10x4. I realized that I couldn't fit all of the important items that you would want with your water bottle in the 10x4 and that made it inconvenient. Quality is great. Maxpedition makes good heavy duty stuff. You hate to spend so much on a bottle holder but this will last forever and it holds everything that I want in my water bottle kit all in one place and that is why I bought this one.
RxConsult : Jetboil Flash easily fits without a struggle
I bought this tho hold my Jetboil Flash. I originally stuffed this into a standard 10x4 molle water pouch but it was such a tight fit to push in and to remove. The 12x5 maxpedition fits perfectly. It’s tall enough to carry an extra fuel canister. Anyone buying a jetboil flash should look into buying this to carry it on the outside of your pack.
Mike Volberg : Inadequate Zipper
Nice bag, well mate but the zipper is under sized, making it hard to use. The zipper binds up and does not pull smoothly. I have found this on all their products with a zipper. Too bad otherwise their bags would be top notch.

Rafael B : Hydro flask 64oz WILL NOT FIT
Hydroflask 64 oz insulated WILL NOT FIT. bought it specifically for that. hydoflask is 4.9 wide and this is supposively 5 wide so it should fit right? wrong. thats falls marketing. even on maxpedition website states the interior is 12x5 of space. I realy needed those 0.25 inch of space......

Bought this to carry a 40 oz Klean Kanteen. Works perfect. I fill the canteen with ice and water in the morning, it keeps cold and still has ice until the evening. I take it on outings with the gf, we never finish it before getting home. Way better than wasting money on expensive drinks at the zoo or wherever, way better than bottled water as well. Front pocket and area above canteen lid are great areas for storing snacks.
I suggest you pickup a shoulder strap to go with it.
Ajay : Yeti 64oz rambler with bottle straw caps fits!
Got this to build a cook kit, wound up using it For my Yeti 64oz Rambler with straw cap. Fits tight but fits !!!
Update Yes Loosened up and broke in nicely with use.
Ok - I’ve had this for awhile now, the yeti fits perfect inside. Bought one of the yeti flip top caps and it’s a great set up !!! I recently filled the yeti with cold tap water, let it sit for 20 min- Emptied it added a tray of ice cubes - Then filled it with cold water from the refrigerator. It was ooutside all day-80 degrees @ 9:00pm still has ice cubes !!!! With the added insulation from this bag combined with the yeti, awsome rig !!!!!
Bill : New one
Works great. My older smaller one lasted for 5 years. I figured I would upgrade to a larger one.
TIMOTHY C BATH : Works perfectly
I use this to protect my Icom IC-705 portable ham radio. My radio fits with room to spare even though I have the Peovi cage installed.

D : its a maxpedition product...
seriously, i havent bought anything from maxpedition that i didnt like. these things are well made and look good. check out you tube for many many reviews on just about all their items. this particular item is very sturdy, very well insulated. The only thing I would change is to make the front pocket a little thicker. It has molle all over it, even the back. the back also has a carry strap that can be lengthened or shortened to use as a carry handle or put on your shoulder. There is also a key holder thing on back. You can fit a 2 liter soda in here. I use it to hold a 4oz bruntane can in the lid, and then in the bottom I have a small coleman trowell, a stainless steel cup with foldout handles, a 32 ounce Guyot Designs stainless steel bottle, one of those small camp stoves that cost $8, a small buck knife and a coleman headlamp.
Rhoades : Cookware Pack.
I am using this for a small cookware set up for one person. I have a 900 ML titanium pot that comes with a small titanium skillet that sits on top. Inside of the pot I have a jet boil gas can, and a bandana to use as a hand towel. Those are inside a mesh bag. It's a tight fit, but it does fit. I also have room for my pocket rocket, and a titanium cup that will fit on top of that. Some kind of eating utensil will fit, and there is still the front pocket you can use. The zippers right now are very tough to zip, just due to the item being new, once it's worn in, I think it'll be better. I was hesitant on the khaki color, but it's more of a greyish brown, so I like that better. My boyfriend got the foliage green, and that color looks really nice too.
UNHappy Camper : Top Quality
Maxpedition has never let me down. This is a top quality product, as usual. I'd buy it again and again. This pouch is well made and of strong material. It's perfect for a day hike. It has plenty of room for a water bottle and lots of extras.
W. Ling : Built like a beast!
This thing is built like a beast! This is a BIG bottle pouch! Check out their photos on mfr. website to get a sense of scale. Like a miniature Camelbak, it fits the Nalgene 32oz bottles with a small enough of a gap to squeeze in a very thin ice pack. The top cap has enough room for additional apple or an orange. It is padded all around with drain hole at bottom. Additional side pouch for small accessories like small notepad, pen, light, keys, wallet, etc... Only time will tell if it will start to stink from moisture buildup from condensation from ice cold drinks. A good deal whenever it's on sale for <$40. Recommended.

Christopher A Nehr : excellent product.
Well, my Maxpedition 12x5 bottle holder for my nesting kit arrived today. I'm impressed with how well constructed it is, as with all Maxpedition products are, but there is a major caveat in the design. The item is described as a 12" long by 5" diameter cylindrical pouch, and yes, those are its external dimensions, however the internal dimensions can only accommodate items that are at a maximum of 4.75" diameter. I feel a little cheated - I needed that extra .25" to build a nesting kit based off of the Snow Peak Trek 900 pan and pot combination.
There are also some unexpected upsides to this pouch. The zip top on the holder extends just over 2" from the top, which allows me to snugly fit my German bakelite butter dish into it, without it extending downward into the main body of the pouch. The side pouch has an elastic retainer with two slots, allowing me to put my spork and knife securely inside without the expected metallic rattle. Also, 4.75 may be too small to fit the Trek 900 series cookware, but it will still fit many other nesting cookware kits, but more importantly to me, it does have enough clearance to snugly fit a 230 gram isobutane/propane canister.
I gave this product a 4/5 for the main reason that the internal dimensions are off by that crucial .25". Other than that, excellent product.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
