will this handle 50+ inch muskies if it came down to it?

Answer: I've handled 30" redfish with my 20" x 24" hoop but handling a 50" muskie would be a negative ghost rider. Stowmaster has a 36" x 38" hoop net that will satisfy your need- be warned it's pricey.

Will this handle support lifting redfish and other similar size fish using length of handle? Fishing off jetty rocks and trying to avoid injury.

Answer: Yes. The net size is perfect for redfish and the handle has the strength to lift redfish. I’ve netted and released several bull reds without any issued. Btw I hope you only keep redfish within the slot size....

Answer: Yes that net is very strong I use it for Cobia that are 20 lbs and bigger they are a slot fish and you don’t want to gaff them

Answer: I bought this net because my frabill net had rusted fasteners. This stowmaster is even worse. The fasteners fall out and the opening is terrible. Don’t buy it. Get something else

Can this net be opened from the folded/collapsed position with one hand only?

Answer: Nope. The collapsed position is for stowing hence the name. I open the net in the ready position and leave it open until I'm done fishing and stow it away. It's the best net I've had.

Answer: No...u have to hold the base with one hand and slide the net open with other hand.

Answer: I have never opened it one handed and I have heard people do it but it isnt easy and if you were hooked up on a fish you wouldnt want to worry about getting the net open.

Looking for a catfish net. Biggest fish usually caught is around 35lbs +/-. Would this net work for me?

Answer: Yes we land 40" reds all the time. Of coarse you can not just lift it with the handle horizontal. utilize the net frame when lifting big fish.

Answer: I would go up to the next size. I use this on snook and reds from 24 to 30 inches and around12 pounds

Stows small, opens up big, worth every extra $ it costs over those cheaper ones.

As my buddy says: "Buy Once, Cry Once!"

This net is such higher quality than all those other ones, we have a swimstep we land fish from so the 72" handle is plenty long for our use. The construction and mechanism are stout and not wimpy, the net is fully rubber coated and doesn't snag hooks nearly as often as others tried.

If you're on the fence, just go for it... Or you can buy three more cheap ones over the next couple of years.

It's still early in the year but so far I'm impressed with net. I am a guide down in the Miss Delta and my new boat has a different layout than my previous boats. I can easily store this net in any of my boxes while traveling. I have landed a few 36"+ reds with no problem. Just remember as with any net, don't lift big fish with handle extended because they will bend the hoop.

This is by far, the best landing net I have ever used. And I have had many. The handle is easy to adjust and slides easily. It has an auto lock in it so you can't pull it apart without depressing latch. The net material is superb. Even the smallest of hooks will not get stuck in it. It is easy to fold which makes it easy to stow. I have purchased a second one as a gift and a third one for my other boat. Excellent product and well engineered.
