Answer: Yes I also use mine to dehydrate vegetables and spices that I put together to make instant soup for camping trips or quick meals at home

Answer: As long as the garage is in a dry location, I don't see why it couldn't. For what it is worth, I have dried beef, ham, chicken, apples, and bananas on the counter right in our kitchen. I've never noticed any odors at all. Although, our dogs might because every time they see me set up the dehydrator, they park themselves in front of it watching and waiting for me to pull out their favorite dried doggie hugs.
Answer: As long as you have an outlet it shouldn’t be a problem. I wouldn’t leave it outside overnight but an enclosed area like a garage should be fine.
Answer: I don't know why not. You should be able to. The only concern I would have is the temperature in your garage. If it's too cold, the heating element may have to work harder.

We have 2 dehydrators using this one. This one can not maintain its heat and takes twice as long to get the food dehydrated. Because it dehydrated so slowly, the food is chewy, not crispy as desired....even when the heat is all the way up

Have to use on highest setting. Don’t feel like the temperature is as high as my older Presto. I like the smaller footprint and easier to store that the Presto. Takes about 14 hours for banana slices and 12 hours for apple slices. Root vegetables are quicker.
KT : Trays Not Easy to Fit
I was attracted to this item because the trays could be set two ways to reduce the total profile when the item is stored. Unfortunately, the trays are not clearly marked (or at least I didn't see any markings) on which way they need to go to fit into each other. Also, they must all fit in the same way. That is, if you want wider spacing all trays must be set to wider spacing and the same for narrower spacing. This means you cannot put a tray in the narrower direction on top of a tray that is set for wider spacing. Major pain to constantly flip and rotate trays to see how it is going to fit on the tray below.
The item was nosier than I anticipated but I wouldn't give low marks for that. I found that some things can dry faster in my oven set to low with the door propped open. I dry my cinnamon sugar apples on sheet trays on top of parchment papers this way and clean-up was a breeze. Because of the sugar, everything stuck to the trays even with parchment paper on top and it was a mess on the bottom. Because it was sugar it was easy enough to clean with enough water and patience to scrub at the sugar.

It sits on a very small platform, you could put two of them side by side and not be missing much counter room. Easy to clean product out of. We are going to buy another one. We have another dehydrator, it is good, but this one is far and away the best one. it cost twice what the other did, but it is well worth it. We dried 8 pounds of carrots today. it took both dehydrators, but it was so worth it to be able to have food for the winter.

First time at drying food. This food dehydrator works well. My first attempt took longer than expected because I had too many items on the five trays. Certain high moisture content items such as pineapple, took a long time. Next time I will do them separately. All in all for the money and size, so far I like this dehydrator.

This is the best dehydrator I have had - and I have had several. Every week I make Jersey for my dogs. It will hold two large packs of chicken breasts. Having seven trays saves time. I do switch the trays occasionally since the bottom ones are done faster than the top. I would recommend this dehydrator to anyone!
