Is this the m100 or m100-1 model? I specifically need the m100 for training purposes

Answer: S&W hasn't produced the older brazed style since 2011 (m100), since 2011 they only produce the newer version with exposed rivets (m100-1). So, these are the m100-1.

Are these all black or do they have sliver dots on them?

Answer: The rivets and pins are silver/metal. The rest of the cuffs are black

Answer: They are solid black. They come coated in shipping oil which you'll want to clean off. Once cleaned they are a flat black color.

Answer: Yes, any universal key will work. Zak tools make great products that work will all standard cuffs.

Answer: The 100m is for melonite a tuff coating that protects the handcuff.. the model 100-1 is the same cuff but has a different process to color the handcuff black or sliver plated. If your buying spend the money on melonite that resist rust etc. my black model 100-1 rust over time and exposure to rain and water

These cuffs are great. I especially like the finish. I wanted cuffs with the lock on both sides of the cuffs. The picture of these cuffs is misleading. Usually when the lock is only on one side, the picture shows the lock side of one cuff and the blank side of the other cuff. These cuffs show a picture of the lock side on both cuffs. They are still great cuffs, but would be perfect for me if the lock was accessible from both sides.

These are good reliable cuffs. I'd give them 5 stars but there's really nothing special about them. Cuffs are cuffs. I first bought a pair of Smith and Wesson 100's 24 years ago and they served me well. Other than the Melonite finish, these cuffs are identical to my old reliable ones. The locking arm slides smoothly over the locking mechanism and locks in place solidly when the locking spring engages.They have a nice weighty and solid feel to them. I don't really care about the Melonite finish. I don't care if my cuffs get scratched up. Cuffs get beat up and scratches don't affect their function. These cuffs appear to be well made and reliable and the price is reasonable.

These are the same cuffs many departments issue. They work same as others with other finishes. The only hiccup is that some 3rd party keys don't readily fir into the key holes. I assume that's because of the thickness of the cuffs' black coating. This is my first with black. I usually carry stainless.
I've deliberately worn down the coating in the key slots. All my keys now work. Only the Safariland big key and a couple plastic keys initially gave me problems. All is good now.

I use these for my security job at a college campus and I wouldn’t go to any other brand than S&W. These are the classic 100 series cuffs with an AWESOME melonite finish that has proven for me to be nearly rustproof. I work in all conditions and some of my co-workers have carbon steel blues cuffs that have rusted. Mine never have had any bit of rust on them ever. I spray mine down with rem oil about once a month and forget about it. Smooth, strong, and durable cuffs that will last a few decades of use if well maintained.

I've been involved in private security for more than a decade and have owned Peerless, S&W, ASP handcuffs of nickel and blued finish.

Nickel handcuffs are the standard and fairly durable - no complaints there. I wanted a bit lower profile and looked for something of the black color range. Buying blued peerless handucffs was nice, but they tended to rust.

The melonite finish has been talked about, being hard-wearing like nickel but without the rusting issues of blued. I can say that is very much true. The construction themselves is the same as all other S&W, so there is no advantage there, but the finish really looks professional.

They are a bit more money than the standard cuff, but if you're dead set on black handcuffs, you should consider these your only real choice.
