This is a great knife. It works great on all meats. The only downside to this is the serrations on the blade are pretty deep. This causes it to leave striations in beef when cutting. I know this is for fish but I know others will use it for everything as well. It has a strong motor and doesn't get hot.

Product worked reasonably well for a couple of fishing trips. Then, when filleting a large number of fish, the knife speed slowed but was still running. Afterward, the battery would not charge. I am an electrical engineer, and, after reading the reviews, especially the one star ratings and also the reviews for the replacement battery, I can only conclude that this product has a serious design flaw either in the charging circuitry or that the batteries are poorly made with many , nearly 20% of the reviews, rating the product as one star because of battery problems. That is way too high for a product. I recommend do not buy this product,

Words can hardly express the - ahem - SHOCKING Disappointment experienced with this item.

We bought this item Satyrday at the local sporting goods store to fillet some crappie we caught up on Lake Weiss Friday. On-or-about Crappie #8, it started Blowin' Smoke And Sparks out of the Hindermost End. Back it went and in no time flat. Boy-hidey. Lauri Rapala must be rollin' over in his grave, hunh.

The day my knife arrived, I filleted 15 rockfish from 3 to 10 lbs. Knife worked well but the handle woulld get so hot that I had to put it down and let it cool. Other than that, it worked well.

This fillet knife would work okay for large fish such at Northern Pike, but the blades are too thick to fillet small fish such as perch or trout.

Good fillet knife that gets the job done. The only thing I would change is the serrations. The really pointed serrations are more like a saw than a knife and catch on skin, bone and scales some. I would recommend a more rounded serrations for better overall performance.

I very sharp fillet knife is great for filleting fish but when they are dull it can be extremely annoying. This one works great and I think it will continue to work well without sharpening. I still prefer a good sharp fillet knife over the electric though but this can speed up the process.
