what are the dimensions of net?

Answer: depends on the size you bought mine is 4'x12'x1/4'' holes.

Answer: There are several widths. Mine is about 12' long and 4'deep

does this slide onto poles and can I order the poles?

Answer: It actually ties to the poles. You can order the poles but they are a little pricey. I was sort of disappointed when I saw them. I think 1 inch PVC with holes drilled in it would work as well or better (and much cheaper).

Answer: No, it doesn't slip fit. It has two long tie strings so you tie the ends onto poles. We used half inch conduit for the poles.

Answer: It does not slide on to poles but could be tied on a pole.

Answer: Sides of net tie onto poles--go to Home depot and get wooden closet rod or 2" PVC pipe--will need about 5' each side.

Making a pond skimmer using this net folded over noodles with pvc through the center of the noodles and rope inside the pipe. R weights heavy enough

Answer: The weights, I believe, will be heavy enough for this. Especially if the moss is not too dense. In this case you may need to create a clean opening first

How long is the net?

Answer: 7'

Answer: I don't recall if it comes in different lengths. My problem is depth as I have pretty big koi. That makes the floats useless. The fish just jump over. Would be good for 4-6 inch fish that may be easy to catch. The weights would hold the net down for catching little fish. 10" fish are very powerful and a seine net is only good for herding the fish together.

Answer: yes, the netting is quite strong, cats will not be strong enough be able to tear through it

Answer: This may work but I would use a casting net for that. I think this would be very difficult.

Answer: Not sure but I think it is polypropylene. I use it to catch brass casings. It has been hanging at my outdoor pistol range for close to 10 years. Very durable.

Answer: Im sure you could catch them in it if you can force them to go towards it.

Answer: Depends what you’re using it for.. you can get a small chain and run it the length of the net to hold it down better

where that net made from?

Can this be used to corral koi? I worry that find might get caught in the netting since it is semi-rigid.

Answer: I don't think it would be a problem. It is rigid but the holes are really quite small

Is this product a drag neck or a throw net?

Answer: It's a throw net.

Answer: I think it's intended to be a drag net, but it doesn't weigh enough. As other comments have said, there are also no handles to even drag with. Adapt, improvise and overcome. We used bamboo sticks and added some weights to the bottom of the net. The two of us then walked slowly, dragging the net towards the shore. Worked fine for what we needed to do. Do not try to use it as a throw net.

Answer: Don't know I use it for catching brass at the gun range does a great job at that task

May be good for minnows, but not koi over 20 pounds. Too lightweight. Floats won't work with jumping savvy fish. Weights also too light, Amazon apparently had no 'serious seine' nets to offer.

I use this to cover my koi pond in the fall/winter and keep out the leaves. Then we use it to rescue fish from the farm pond overflow in the spring. I've used plenty of seines in the past, the durability of this one is high and that is important when working around rocks and brush. This is a great net at a great value.

This was what I paid for. I agree with the other posters that to be effective, we had to attach some type of pole to each side. I was transporting fish and needed an easy way to scoop up the fish. This worked to perfection. Adding weight to the bottom of the net was needed as well-or, as we did, some extra muscle to keep the net on the bottom as we scooped upwards.

Looks good quality materials. Definitely needs more weights and more or bigger floats. I plan on adding weights from old cast net lead line to mine. Do wish i bought the 20' instead of the 12'
