Answer: I actually lost the Coach Dog color to a large northern here in North Dakota. Pulled a beginner move and forgot to use a steel leader and it cut my line.

Answer: Yes, especially a black one at night.

Why do they call it the clicker fire tiger? does it rattle like a rattle trap lure. with the bb's inside?

Answer: Fire tiger refers to the pattern on the lure. The clicker I am assuming because the lure does make noise, however there are no bb’s inside.

Answer: The clicker jitterbugs are suppose to have a clicking noise. I don't notice a difference from the regular jointed jitterbug It doesn't rattle. The metal fin makes the bait move left and right or jitters as you retrieve it. This is a great top water bait for bass and pike.

settle the comments/reviews is this lure the jitterbug perch weedless or not?

Answer: Jitterbug is a floating lure, it only grab weeds on the surface. Using it at night you know right away if it grabs a weed the plop plop just stops.

Answer: It is NOT weedless. The ones that I received were the huge Musky size- bristling with three exposed treble hooks!

Answer: It is about 3 inches but does not have a clicker

Answer: Yes this is the smaller version of the jitterbug. It does not have a clicker. The cup on the front creates a "pop".

I purchased 2 of these and only received one why did they not ship together and what is taking so long shipping the second one?

Robb S : Jitterbugs are great, I suggest the smaller one.

It's weird, I catch bigger fish when using the smaller non-jointed jitterbug. I don't know if its the size of this one, the extra clatter noise that it will make, but I catch half as many fish. I still catch twice as many fish as any other lure in tackle box (excluding the smaller jitterbug).

Side note, most of my fishing is in rivers. I still pull 5-6 pounders out but never with this. More pond/lake fishing might yield better results but nothing as of yet.

I love this thing! First off, it's pretty big. I thought that would be a factor, so I tried it out a week or so ago. Holy carp! I caught a 17" bass within 20 minutes of fishing. Not bad for a first time use. I've caught 3 fish since then on this, and I love watching it dance across the water. Great buy!

I have loved this lure from my youth. Just got back from fishing it on dawn patrol. Caught two largemouth bass in the first ten minutes. An absolute joy to cast and hook fish with. But the durability...arrgh! After the second fish (both were in the two pound range, the lead hook had been torn off (screws ripped out) and the trailing treble was bent. I'm ordering two more but will change out the hooks and screws before using. An amazing low light lure but the quality of construction is questionable, at best.

It's on the small side for bass. It's hard to go wrong with a jitterbug. Something is off on mine I will have to tinker with it. It's not getting as much movement as it should and I've been using these for 5 decades. I still recommend one but go up a size if your looking for bass. You might catch a crappie on this size.

On the 4 1/2" Model the large hook in the rear gets stuck and won't move unless you reshape the hook holder or replace the hook with a smaller one and if you remove screws it strips very easy ! Otherwise it would be great !
But this is a Major Flaw !

This jitterbug is just like every other jitterbug I've ever had; made well, and a fish-catcher. Put one of these on at daybreak or even better at dusk, and get ready to pull them in. I've had the best success over the years with the frog pattern and especially the solid black.

I found it here on Amazon and just couldn’t pass it up. About a month ago, many were on sale for like $3. I had one as a child back in the 1970’s and it bought back a little nostalgia because it was the exact same Jitterbug inside the same package. It also is a great Floater or Topwater lure. The color is similar to a bullfrog and any Bass loves frogs. Made to last a lifetime. The huge front lip is designed to replicate a frog or tadpole swimming across the surface. The surprise of a big bass leaping from below right in front of your eyes as it strikes is something that will not be forgotten. Highly recommended.
