Thankfully, many tournaments have since loosened their rules and are now allowing the Rig to be used once again. But it is no wonder why it was so effective. Take this Umbrella rig for example. This is a fully rigged bait with Swim Baits and Jig Heads Included. Not only that, it includes 8 willow leaf blades which provides the "flashing effect" that you would see when looking at a school of shad. 20cm long which allows you to spread out the arms enough to really imitate a school of shad. If you arent throwing one of these when the bass are feeding on shad, then you are missing out!

How fast do you troll

Answer: 2.75 to 3.0 mph

Answer: 3/16oz

Answer: At least 12 pound test and that is if you are going after smaller fish like fresh water bass. If you attach all the jigs with trailers then make that 14 at least. I used deer head jigs 1/4 oz and 12 pound was fine. I hooked a stripe about 40 pounds adjusted my drag as I knew the line could not take it and my hook straightened out and off he went. He actually bent that hook straight ! I bought stainless salt water jigs so that never happens again ! No liter required as all bite places will among the metal of the rig !

Answer: 17-20 lb ideally. anything less you may throw the lure off. Its pretty heavy

Answer: Mine weighed 3.8oz with everything assembled.

Answer: It was awhile ago that I used them but I think 2oz maybe 2 1/4oz. The plastics are pretty cheap.

Ok this is my first shot the a-rig craze. i got this, and i am assuming that you just bend the leaders where you think they should go?

Answer: Yes, the more you spread them apart, the more it will look like a school of fish

Answer: Don’t specifically know answer. I use only 3 0 circle hooks for strippers, rarely missing a bite.

Is this illegal to have so many hooks on the rig? MD law allows 2 hooks per rod.

Answer: Absolutely. This was originally designed as a striped bass bait before it was a very popular largemouth bait.

Fresh out of the packaging eyes are missing out of 1/4 swim jig heads. Also a few of the free spinning clips for the blades were set in the bend of the wire instead of between the bends. Not giving the flashers a full chance to rotate 360 around the wire. Hence causing an unequal drag to the sides that can not rotate. Had plenty of weight to get down in depth. No problem casting into the 11mph wind with 20lb braid and keeping good accuracy . Swim baits are nice colors and good action. Maybe some better quality control looking at them before they are packaged..

For the price this is the best rig there is. This will be my 3rd time purchasing this product. I have lost 2 by getting them hung on the bottom of the lake. I guess Ive been going too deep to catch a huge fish so I will need to go a little more shallow and just keep working it. Trust me, it's a great product. Haven't used it once without catching a nice striper
