I'm sure we all have a favorite pro for one reason or another, so who is you guy and why?
I'd say Ike we have a lot of the same style in fishin only I am not so high strung.
Ish is a cool cat...
Hank Cherry because of how he composed himself loosing that fish on the last day of the Classic. I would tied my anchor rope around my neck and jumped over board.
Ofcourse legends like Clunn and Denny... they have made it.
Ike because he is personable and a great teacher.
No one in particular, I tend to like guys whom I have either met in person, or who are funny and personable on TV. Swindle, Hackney, Ike, KVD, Scroggins, Shaw Grigsby, are amongst the guys I am always pulling for. Brian Snowden doesn't get much TV time, but he's a super nice guy. He and I have a mutual friend and I have bought some of Brian's used gear in the offseason. A bunch of pro's were at BPS in Auburn last summer, and I went out to do the whole meet and greet thing with them. Brian was there and he and I talked for a long time. He asked me as many questions as I asked him, and made a genuine offer that if he has time between tournaments and on his way up to fish the St. Lawrence Elite event this summer, that he'd like to swing by my way and fish with me for an afternoon. Semi-chuckle worthy story of that meet and greet, standing in line like everyone else for a handshake/picture and a couple questions with KVD, people in front of me were asking the usual stuff, like...what's you favorite lake, favorite color crank bait, how do fish this or that. When I got up there, I said "hey you spend a lot of time on the water, what kind of sunscreen do you use to keep from turning as red as your shirt" He actually laughed, and said no one has ever asked him that before............but he never did tell me what kind of sunscreen he used LOL.
There's a lot of great guys on the tour... favorites? Hard to pick.
I like several, Ike, Grigsby, Fukae, KVD, Evers ...
As for why, I like their styles, each of which is a bit different. Ike being the most animated of the bunch, with Shaw a notch down from Ike on animation. KVD just because he's a monster. I like Evers style. I am a fan of Fukae's techniques, and he's a jovial chap.

Same here. Brauer, Duckett, Worth are a few I've met that were very personable. Got to follow Pete Gluzek at a fishing seminar this winter. That guy is is about as real as they come.
Grigsby, Hackney, Swindle are probably my top 3
skeet is probabily my number one. I also like aaron martens. the reasons; well skeet is realy versitile, and can catch under many different conditions, he has not been labeled as a one or two bait kind of guy. That is something I try and do in my own fishing so I appreciate that. as for aaron martens, he is one of the best finnesse fishermen on tour, I vew finnesse as one of my weaker areas so I have a lot of respect for guys that can finnesse and do well.

Ike,KVD and Todd Faircloth.Ike is a great promoter of the sport.

Probably because he is in the middle of the two year process researching and developing the new SK KVD Sexy Sunscreen. It will double as a fish attractant too. lol
I would have to say Ike and Grigsby. Grigsby is the nicest dude in the world. Ike is just a nut and reminds me of myself in some ways. Seems like a dude I would wanna be friends with.
im and MI guy so im true to the Vandams. But Palaniuk is someone I really look up to. Consistent, versatile, and focused. Everything you need to excel in the sport. Hes always hanging around, great character too. He said that quote I think it was during the classic.
"Success is when preparation meets Opportunity."
That statement carries alot of truth, and its self evident. BP, is awesome. If I could fish with one pro, it would be him no doubt. But when it comes to fishing, everyone can teach you sonething. I never forget that.
Evers, KVD aned Ehrler. Evers and Ehrler just seem like good guys and great fisherman. With KVD I think I'm just amazed by how he can figure them out. Also I seem to like Ike a little more every tourney I watch him fish.
I always liked Shaw Grigsby (sp), but after watching Major League Fishing, I like Jeff Kriet too, seems like a great fisherman, but always just seconds away from a panic attack
As much as I like KVD, and considering we are from the same city and state, I just can't get enough of watching and listening to Greg Hackney. That guy is an absolute blast to watch fish. I really like Denny Brauer, Shaw, and I've really taken a liking to Takahiro Omori as of late. He seems like a good natured guy, and he flat out catches them. Tommy Biffle has a strange humor about him that I like as well. Kriet is another favorite, even though he has a beef with KVD, and I love me some Ish Monroe. I think the MLF format has really done wonders for the pro's popularity, as we really get to see their personalities come out.
I have several that I like to follow, tops for me are KVD, McClelland, Brauer, E2, and Palaniuk. I think most of the guys on the Elite tour are stand up type guys, seems it would be hard to get and keep several sponsors otherwise.
Being new I don't know anyone's personality or demeanor other than the guys I've seen a couple of times on MLF.
Since I'm in Alabama I'd like to follow a local guy. I know Aaron Martens is from Leeds which is about 20-30 minutes away from me. Perhaps as I follow more and more I can develop favorite.
Tough one to answer here.
I think my overall favorite is Fletcher Shryock. I was his marshal last year at Oneida and he was awesome to be out with for a day. I like the motocross to bass fishing transition.
Bill Lowen is another favorite. I admire his consistency and versatility. Hoping he can get a win sometime soon.
Lastly, KVD, of course. No one has been as consistent over their whole career. Even when he's having an "off year" like last year, he still finishes 7th in AOY.
mike iaconelli, i like his style and willingness to do whatever it takes to win
Skeet Reese cause he comes off as a joker and someone who likes to have fun while being a great fisherman.
Tommy Biffle because he is old guard who goes in, does what he has to and just plain fishes. Makes his living fishing and without plastering his image over everything. Hearing the guys talk about him in MLF is hilarious.
Brent Chapman. Guy had a tough stretch, pulled himself together and has shown himself to be one of the top anglers on tour. Humble, hardworking and a great angler, everything I look up to in a fisherman.
David Dudley,best instincts out there.
Ott Defoe for me. He is really a stand up guy. Had the pleasure of meeting him in person and it was really cool talking to him.
I like KVD, Ike, and Shaw Grigsby. However the guy I pull for the most is Dave Lefebre. He's from my neck of the woods, and he's helped me with different things when I ask. A genuinely nice guy. Ike for his passion, KVD for his methodical approach to everything, and Shaw Grigsby because when I first met him I was about 12 or 13, and he literally talked to me for almost 45 minutes. Really great memory!

His instincts this year arent so hot.
I like Erhler, he knows how to put technology to work and has extreme patience
Ish Monroe I just like his style and he seems very chill.
I would take a day on the water with ANY pro, just to be able to pick their brain and observe them. But If I HAD to pick one I'd have to say Ike, I love his "Never Give UP" attitude and we grew up fishing the same lakes and reservoirs, so I would love to spend a day on the water with him getting tips. Plus I'm sure he's got a few secret spots that I'd love to get the scoop on.
