Who is your horse?
I think Hack, Chris Lane and maybe Ike will be hard ro beat. I also see KVD being ticked about missing the classic and laying the smack on em in an attempt to eaen his spot as early as possible
I know Fletcher shryock beached his boat, g man almost got stuck , and palanuik may have been on someones posted land. Pretty eventful practice day. I'm just wondering who's going to be able to get in the tourist center lake in Louisiana. There's some seriously big bass in there
A few years ago ike wrecked hia boat and somebody busted a lower unit up trying to get back to a hole
Yea Sabine can get pretty nasty to get to the fish

Ike run his boat on the bank thinking he could handle the curves in the Calcasieu River.
I'm pulling for Elite Series Rookie, Runner Up at the 2014 Bassmaster Classic,
and BR member Paul Mueller ~
And you can bet he'll be throw a 4" Reins Fat Rockvibe Shad at some point.

I'm pulling for him.... he's in my fantasy lineup
I have Dean Rojas as my No. 1 and hes doing fairly well right now..
Faircloth seems to catch them anywhere he goes!
I thought Brent Ehler would do well but he looks to be struggling..
According to Basstrakk, Iocanelli hasnt caught a fish and Chris Lane is whacking them!!
Just checked - BassTrakk has the leader as Chris Lane at something around 15lbs and after that the numbers are way down -
Looks like it's tough sledding.

You and he are not going to be happy when he goes to the scales today.

Sabine is right up Chris Lanes alley

Apparently very few - It's a dink fest so far . . . .

Day Two - Another Fog Delay . . . . . . .
Got to be killing those guys not being able to get out there.

Fog's Lifted and they are back at it . . . .
Good spots close will be at a premium.

3# average in those waters is big

And that's very big up here too
C. Lanes limit not with standing - most of the field seems to be finding it quite challenging to get into those fish.

I live 30 minutes from the launch site so I know the Sabine River quite well. There are weekly tournaments, the average 5 bass stringer 10-12 lbs. The Sabine River dam up river is Toledo Bend which is above flood stage so the flood control gates (9 ea) are open 3' & 1 generator is running 24 hrs. There are flood warning for the river!
High muddy water!

Like I said ~ Tough Sledding
Thanks Catt

I love seeing old shaw grigsby up there in the weight!
Today was tougher than yesterday. The cut line dropped about 2 lbs. Hopefully they will get full days for the rest of the way. Cutting out half the field should help the remaining 53 also.
Boy kvd fell down hard today...chris lane is dialed in.
hooefully.no more fog delays jeez
Day 3 starts with another Fog Delay ~
I'm betting the leaders may like it but the rest of the field has got to be chomping at the bit to get out there.
Three late starts in a row - heck of a way to start 2015 . . . .

Crazy how many blanked on day one and two. Over 15 blanked yesterday alone, wow!!!

Agreed.
A skunking is never a good time - especially when your fishing to make your house payment - no pressure.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear they were fishing in Southern Indiana!
Go Shaw Go!
Watching local news, the Sabine River area where they are fishing got 6.5" of rain & the river will be at or above flood stage by morning!

^^LOL^^
Epic! A-Jay!
I live 30 minutes from the launch site so I know what weather conditions they are fishing under. The only good part is the air temps are mid to upper 70s & light winds.
The river was muddy before day 1 & has worsened every day & has risen to flood stages.
These conditions show why these guys are Pros and how many struggle like us.
Yup - And despite the insane weather there was still a decent little crowd of dedicated spectators at the weigh in.
Probably the same people who would most likely otherwise be fishing in that deluge as well.
Watching Dave Mercer do the "Speed Version" of the weigh in was comical too.

Congratulations Chris Lane!
Based on their history, I always considered Bobby Lane a better fisherman than Chris Lane, but it looks like that is no longer the case. Chris may be just as hot as Greg Hackney and doing it in just as a diverse way.
Over the past 13 Elite events (dating back to the Lake St. Clair open in August of 2013), Chris Lane has won 3 of them. Had Mike Iaconelli been born in Idaho instead of New Jersey, it would have been 4 with the Delaware River. This run includes a couple events where his head must have been spinning because his boat & gear burned up just prior to an event. Considering how tough the Elite field is now with the influx of top FLW talent, this is an impressive run.
Wow i picked two of the top five including the winner in my OP!!!

I agree with you. I actually picked Bobby Lane in this event, he did terribly. Chris has been on quite the roll the last few years. He's won on very diverse fisheries too, from Florida to the Great Lakes.
The winner only gets $300,000.00? No wonder they become lure salesmen for the lure companies. After taxes, all those expenses traveling around the country, boat maintenance and truck, etc... I'm surprised anybody can make any decent money out of this "sport", if you consider it a sport.

They make $300,000 for winning the Classic, $100,000 for a regular season event. You are correct though, they couldn't make a living fishing without their sponsors. There are only 8 regular season Elite events and 6 FLW events. The sponsors make everything possible.

x2 about Bobby. I'm impressed with the diversity of Chris's wins to, especially for growing up in Florida. Every lake looks the same here. He's also won a couple of Southern Opens events as well. The last one to cash a 500k check for a classic win to.
