Currently the top 10 all have limits. It looks like this.
Takahiro Omori 14-12
Kevin VanDam 13-10
Billy McCaghren 11-7
Jeff Kriet 11-0
Cliff Pace 10-8
Brent Chapman 8-12
Cliff Crochet 8-0
Todd Faircloth 7-10
Matt Herren 7-0
Frank Scalish 6-14
Anyone know what part of the lake Omori and KVD are fishing? Anyone know what bait they're throwing?
I bet KVD is fishing deep but who knows. Can't wait to see if the top 3 at the end of this tourney all fished similarly, or completely different as far as baits and techniques are concerned.
should start changing soon with larger numbers, afternoon has been producing the bigger fish in practice.
billy mac is now in the lead
can someone post a link for the live (updating) leader board??? I can not find it anymore. thanks.
It's on the ESPN website Classic live blog.
There is the BassTrakk page that shows unofficial standings
1 Billy McCaghren * 14 lbs 13 oz
2 Takahiro Omori * 14 lbs 12 oz
3 Kevin VanDam * 14 lbs 8 oz
4 Jeff Kriet * 12 lbs 2 oz 2 lbs
5 Cliff Pace * 10 lbs 8 oz
Posting every change in the leaderboard is like posting the standings every few laps of a Nascar race. ;D
I have to admit that I'm checking it quite often throughout the day as well.

With VanDam up front this early he may be tough to beat. My guess is he'll stay on his fish. That's one top ten place locked up.
Look at his cull numbers.
Gerald Swindle and Aaron Marten's also have high cull numbers. There are no bass on beds yet down there, right??

no because of the snow, snow melt and cold temperatures, I think the water is probably in the low to mid 40s throughout much of the lake, so I doubt the bass have even started their pre-spawn movements yet. Especially since it has been a longer and colder than usual winter.
I would think the best like KVD have moved up into some of these tributary arms that don't have much water movement and warm up faster, and may potentially be starting their pre-spawn moving... hard to say for sure though.
Arron Martins does have a high cull number with an average of over 4# which higher than his livewell weight with an average is less than 2#
Somebody is not getting or posting accurate info.

Yeah! Guess we're watching the those NASCAR laps third hand. Maybe better to look at total catch numbers. Then again, it might be best to check back in a few days.
BTW: What does "Back" mean? OH...I get it, behind the leader -amount to make up.
Faircloth must have just caught a big'n!
Looks like Rojas, Freeman, Swindle, Kreit, VanDam, and Faircloth are catching.
Oo-oo-ooo! VanDam's dialin' in now. Look at his total weight. Game over??
lets go Cliff!!!

I see. I read in an ESPN blog that the BassTraxx numbers are essentially eye-balled by newbs.
It's possible I suppose that Ike has blanked, but not likely.

While searching around the site for BassTraxx, I stumbled across one of the BLOGs that said Ike had caught his 4th or 5th bass that put him between Tak and KVD at that time. Time will tell.
weight in is live at espn 360
He finally weighs in.

well looks like I am out, at the end of day 2, KVD is out front with 35-2
Wow, Skeet has only 3 fish on day one while others are culling. So much for defending that title. KVD is going to be tough to catch with that sort of lead (only 6 anglers within 5 lbs already).
49 Denny Brauer 0 0- 0 0 0- 0
What the heck??? Did he get sick out on the water or what? I really like Denny and am not too pleased to see he was skunked.
With the water temp these guys are fishing, to catch fish they must fish slow. Time managment will be a vital key.
I would have thought the same but I have seen lots of fast moving baits thus far...
Interesting. I can't seem to find a leader board anywhere. I thought the weigh in was at 5:30?

Skeet got skunked and defended his title by coming in 43rd... he can't be too happy. Sunday should be awesome with KVD second and Ike 4th. Nothing against the other leaders, but I would love to see those guys have a shootout and go 1-2.
KVD will win #3.
Against my better judgment, I say Kriet wins it.
(my better judgment = KVD 2 oz. back)
KVD is hard to bet against!
But, Kriet had a stellar performance today as to where KVD struggled a little!
Maybe Kriet caught on to something today... Maybe! Lol
The squirrel will finally get the nuts! I hope Kriet wins. But then KVD will reign hell down upon everyone else the rest of the year.
QuoteI hope Kriet wins. But then KVD will reign hell down upon everyone else the rest of the year.
He's going to do that whether he wins the Classic or not.
I'm just happy to see James Niggemeyer doing so well. He's very deserving of a top finish in the classic.
QuoteAgainst my better judgment, I say Kriet wins it.(my better judgment = KVD 2 oz. back)
...fulfilling my BR Contest pick for Classic Winner! I'm hoping so!
