Not a lot of time to pick your rosters after the Delta, so get ready ladies and gentleman!
Bucket A: Michael Iaconelli
What I'm looking for: people who can fish those deep rocky resovoirs. I know both Aaron Martens and Dean Rojas are great choices, but they have an incredible ownership rate, so I'll pass for now. I think this fishery lines up well for Ike, especially since his finish at the Delta hurt a little because he's done so well there in the past. Get ready to get Ike!!
If I change my mind, I think I would go for Chris Zaldain, simply because he's really good with a dropshot and such.
Bucket B: Mike Mcclelland
I think Mcclelland is a good choice here, seems to do well on these types of lakes.
If I change my mind, I'll go with David Walker.
Bucket C: Alton Jones
My mind immediately runs to Edwin Evers, but I haven't seen the kind of performance yet from him that justifies that choice. Alton is a good guy and I think this fishery sets up for him well.
If I change my mind, I'll probably go with Edwin anyway.
Bucket D: Jonathon VanDam
As much as I want to say Brandon Palaniuk, because I really really like Brandon and I think he has the proper attitude going into this event, I'm gonna have to go with JVD. Why? Well, the two of them are both really good at deep, rocky lakes. There's always competition between them and one of them will always do really well. With 26.5% betting on Palaniuk and only 2.4% on JVD, I'll take the chance. I wish they were in separate buckets, though.
If I changed my mind, it'll be for Brandon because he's one of my fishing heroes.
Bucket E: Stephen Browning
Browning is an AR native, and it's time for a charge in the top twelve!! Expected to do well at the Delta, he didn't have his game together. But watch out........he could be dangerous
If I change my mind, it'll be for Takahiro Omori, just because.
Good luck guys!
Alright guys, Here is my initial lineup:
A - Aaron Martens.. I chose Aaron because hes on a roll and he's the best at catching them deep!!!
B - Tommy Biffle.. This may seem like a weird choice but Tommy is one of my favorites plus I really do believe the Biffle Bug will catchem off the rocks of Havasu!!
C - Ott Defoe.. Defoe is a good "junk fisherman" and I feel like he will get onto a good pattern!
D - Britt Myers.. Myers is pretty good at fishing deep and will crank his way into a good finish..
E - Randall Tharp.. Tharp is too good of a fisherman to be in this bucket.. He has had a bad year and hes tired of bad finishes.. This week, he will turn it around!!
Btw, I kinda feel like Im cheating on Rojas.. Hes been on my team every week this season.. He will have another good tournament on his way to AOY but Martens will steal his thunder at Havasu!! AMart will finish first and Rojas will be 1st loser!! IMO....haha
Good Luck Guys!

People have been saying that about Randal Tharp since the Sabine and he has just plain out sucked. Not his month(s), I guess. Good luck!
http://aaronmartens.com/meet-aaronLol my thread was put on AMart's website!
Lol press release
I changed Myers out for Bertrand..
My picks for this week:
I went with guys who have been around the block, seen plenty of deep clear water, and also had a relatively low percentage of ownership at the time I picked on BASS.
A: Kevin VanDam (5.9% ownership)
B: Mike McClelland (7.5%)
C: Gary Klein (2.6%)
D: Kevin Short (5.1%)
E: Mozizo Shimizu (5.2%)
VanDam is in a tough group, but at less than 6% ownership, he is a slam dunk. Shimizu is a bit of a flyer, but no one in Group E really caught my attention. I think Klein and Short have Top 20's in them, if they can maintain the energy.
A. Zaldain: Consistent and experienced in finesse and swimbaits. Coming off strong showing. 1%
B. Faircloth: Consistent and well rounded angler. Almost won angler of year last year and should be pushing for bucket a. 8%
C. Brett Hite: He is my bread and butter. Bucket C? Not for long. Forget the talk about him being a grass fisherman, did you watch him in the classic? Dude can finesse and outfish most of bucket B AND C. High ownership, mostly from sheep who see AZ under his name. 58% but dropping
D. K Short: Good all around fisherman who should be in bucket b or c. Has good success in clear deep water torunaments. 5%
E. Hawk: Another angler who should be a bucket or 2 ahead. Has experience out west and is good finesse and swimbaiter. His ownership would be higher if more people knew he was from the west and didn't have bama under his name. 10%
I got
A. Jacob Powroznik
B. Mark Davis
C. Brent Chapman
D. Byron Velvick
C. Paul Mueller
This has been the toughest pick so far for me.
I like your lineup Danno except Velvick.. Hes having some major back probs.. Hes even been at the hospital this week..
My lineup is
Cliff pirch
Randy howell
Edwin evers
John murray
Fred roumbanis
And right now "unofficially" roumbanis is in first with john murray and evers tied for 2nd, cliff pirch in 7th and howell in 45th so im a pretty happy person right now
Yeah Man!! you are looking good! Both Ott Defoe & Tommy Biffle are no where to be found on BassTrakk.. My lineup isnt looking too good..
Good to see Randall Tharp resurfacing!
Dang philly. After day one you are sitting pretty.
My squad is weak. Luckily only a couple pounds separate my guys from the cut

Haha I read it everyday. I have no idea how I missed. He's caught like 12lbs so he's trying to make the cut. I think he'll need to get to at least 16 today.
Well goodluck and anyone hear anything about boom boom roumbanis?

And they were sayine on bassmaster live that because the wind slowed down some today hes been able to get a little further from launch
Pretty happy with the day's results.
None of my guys are in the top 15 or so, but 4 of them made it to the cut tomorrow. I have decent hope for David Walker and Alton Jones to make it to the top 12. My picks were all mostly dark horses, with the exception of Ike, although he wasn't picked a lot, so because they mostly made it to the top 50, that's good points. JVD made a huge rally and got in last place for tomorrow. Unfortunately, Ike missed the cut by two positions. Really disappointed in him, as I'm sure he is in himself.
But with dark horse picks, getting 4 into the top 50 is not bad. Because of that, I advanced to 98.6 for today.
Good luck for the rest of the weekend guys!
And my team went up in flames like the Hindenburg!! Haha it happens!
Yippee! Stephen Browning and JVD are in 5th and 7th, respectively according to BASSTrakk. Both of those are dark horses and they are going to get me some amazing points if they can squeeze out a top twelve. JVD made an amazing rally in particular. I figured it was worth the chance to pick him over Brandon and it paid off!
JVD made it!
I didn't post my picks here on Thursday because I was in Ish Monroes boat . Marshalling is pretty cool, I'd recommend it. Went out with Dennis Teijei yesterday & Alton Jones today, but that is a post for another day.
My picks are:
A - Pirch
B- Ehler
C- Evers
D- JVD
E- Hawk
3 have made the top 12, Ehler bubbled at 13th and only Hawk bombed out of the cut. Plus I have all 3 daily leader bonus points (Evers, Pirch twice) and Evers might hold on to big bag for another 40 points.
I originally had Tharp & swapped him out for Hawk on the drive to Havasu, it may have cost me the $3000 BPS gift card.

Haha I saw that was like I bet Kyle is pumped!
Djf6864 and philly what's your score?
There's a lot of dogs still in this hunt. Pirch won't be able to sleep tonight. It will be fun to see this go down to the wire.

Right now im at 1322 but i cant believe howell dropped to 27th that might kill me but we shall see
And i made up some major ground too i was ranked like 7,500 now im at 1300
None of us were smart enough to pick Lucus to go back to back

Dude I can't tell you how nervous I was. He sat in twelth place for like 12 anglers after him. Really thought he'd get knocked off. Watching the weighin right now and as much as I've loved to see Pirch fish this week (ton of confidence), I'm rooting for AMart. He is a phenomenal angler and he must be so frustrated with his seconds.

Even though I had Pirch in bucket A, I found myself happy that Martens won for the same reasons. Points wise, he & Pirch both ended up with 305 (Pirch had 5 less regular points, but 5 more bonus points because he led for 2 days to Amarts 1). What made the difference in choosing either Amart or Pirch was the space between them & Rojas, who was the overwhelming favorite pick in that bucket.
JVD's high wire act as he went from 52 to 12 to tied for 8th really helped both of us. Brett Hite's poor showing dragged alot of people down.
As of yesterday, I was in 105th overall & figure to climb about 30 more places based on Murray's slip in Bucket E & the 40 point big bag bonus for Evers (who ended up being the overall point leader with 335 points). I believe the big bass of the tournament went to Mike Keirnan, who ended up in 50th & didn't have a large percentage of owners.
Kyle, if I remember right, you were in the top 200 at the beginning of the week. Did havasu help, hurt or really make no difference for you?
I went with dark horses: Ike, David Walker, Alton Jones, Stephen Browning, and JVD. They really helped pointwise because not a lot of people picked them. Because of that, I actually increase in rating but I'm 345th on the leaderboard. I got up to 99.0 percentile yesterday but dropped a little to end up sitting in 98.9th percent, which is better than where I was before Havasu.
This is my first year fantasy fishing, and I'm loving it. I have had so much fun deciding who to pick.
I ended up with 1304 for the tournament, and now am in 80th place overall with 4426. This was one of the best tournaments I ever had. I hope I can duplicate it a few more times.
If David Williams was in bucket C or E, then I picked the top points in 4 of the 5 buckets. To win this week, I would have needed to pick Omori in bucket E, who I never even considered so I don't feel bad. I more than made up for that by staying away from Brett Hite in bucket C and having Evers come out strong with the weeks big bag.
Good luck with your next round of picks!!
I had a decent week with the group below. Now i'm 1639th place with 4085 points or 94.6%
A Cliff Pirch
B Jeff Kriet
C Micah Frazier
D Josh Bertrand
E Kevin Hawk
As rude as it sounds, the key to having a good week on Havasu was not choosing Brett Hite. He scored the lowest points in bucket C & over half the players (54%) had him. If you avoided Hite & just made a couple of decent picks, you most likely moved up, gaining points on those players who did choose him.
Those who choose Evers had a 274 point edge over that 54% in that bucket alone.
I tanked.
Kevin short worked out though

Yeah I wish I had gone with Evers, that would have come in handy.....
I feel like I escaped Havasu decently.. Finished with 1083 pts. Im now at 92.8%..
My best pick was AMart who I predicted to win on my initial post!! Randall Tharp also came alive!! Ott Defoe didnt do too bad along with Josh Bertrand. Tommy Biffle was my lowest finisher but I still like him!!
Went from 90% to 72....
