Smallie Frenzy! 2024

I've been absolutely SLAYING smallmouth the last 3 days. Been fishing a local river here in Eau Claire, wi and have had a few fish each trip until now....now I've caught about 45 in the last 3 days. Each day I was out for only a handful of hours 4-5.
Most of them came on 2.5" tubes. A few hit a #3 Aglia, and a couple hut 4" Kalins grubs.

Small Mouth are the reason I want to move up there. They're my favorite fish, tons of fight and just great looking.

They're easily my favorite fish to catch. A smallie hitting a tube or grub is the reason I keep going back!

Nice looking fish, look very healthy. I appreciate that you seem to handle them with great care.
I'm about to get me some Erie bronzebacks in the next week or two, it's exciting when they start piling up like that just before the spawn. Being a smallmouth guy, I can only take so much of this largemouth fishing without getting a smallie!

Thanks man, they're all so fat and healthy. It's good to see them feeding so well. And I really do my best to handle them safely. I've really gotten fond of the belly hold in the pics, they just stay still perfectly for a good release!
Have a great trip! I'd love to get onto some big water for some giants. My river smallies are great, but I've been itching for a door county trip.

Finally some nicer weather! So much wind and rain lately its been killing my fishing. Catch a few each trip but it's brutal.
Today was better. A 15 fish, and bunch got of in current, had plenty of swing-and-swing-and-miss hits and even got some sun!
