pick your weapon. say.... water tempes from 45-55
jig/pig
This year will be the jig/ pig. I'm trying to break away from just only using wacky.
Why know shaky head on the poll. I guess that can be other or would you still consider that a worm?
I gotta throw a wacky or T rigged senko at 'em. Followed by a tube or a salleemander. Me and jigs just don't get along right now.
I will pitch a Jig first, if I am not getting a bite then I will try a sweet beaver.
t-rig for me. Not a huge fan of jigs and wood.
Other (please explain): Texas Rigged Jig works for me in cold water
At those temps, the only choice for me would be a jig.
Jig all the way, but last week I caught my new PB on a reaction innovation sweet beaver pitching it into buck brush! Check here for the thread...
Jeff
Rage Craw for me!
I will throw a jig around timber anytime, but this year I have been flipping a beaver around timber and having a lot more luck with it then with a jig. But I will always start with a jig.
SJ
I always do well with a T-rigged Green pumpkin Baby Brush Hog.Toss it in and hold on!!
Jig on a heavy action rod. You don't want to go light around timber.
tie between brush hog and senko (wacky) here.
Jig, and sometimes a t-rigged tube for a changeup!
Last year it was a Rage Craw, I'm thinkin' this year it will be a Rage Hawg. I'm going to focus on the big ones this year.
i would use a craw imitator, something with straight claws. If i throw a chigger craw i may trim the claws down a tad.
Green pumkin jig and sweet beaver because everybass likes a little beaver!!
Jig and Pig
If water is warm I may go big worm or craw
wish i had enough opportunities fishing timber to try them all.
I'd throw a reaction Innovations tube. "June Bug Red" or Watermelon with a chart. tail. with a 3/8 oz. pegged weight

Texas Rigged Jig? please explain more. Are you using an additional weight to the jig that is already tied on?

Add your favorite plastic Texas rigged
Hmmmm... I have never texas rigged a plastic on a jig, I might have to try that. I can see where it would get hung up a lot less doing that. I usually just thread on on the hook...

If you look at the picture again & notice the second from the right that is the lead part of the Texas rigged jig; it is a slip sinker with a skirt.
