I wanted to thank you guys for keeping me sane by talking about something I love to do. It will take me a few days to get home, and I wont be able to read this for a few days. Im really looking forward to getting home to see the family, but mostly to kick some bass!!

We are the honored ones here on the forum and in this country to have men such as you, willing to serve during such hard times as we find ourselves. May such spirit and understanding spread throughout the whole nation. The nation owes you a dept that can never be repaid. As a fellow veteran from times long past I salute you and Welcome Home.
THANK YOU!! For a job well done.
At least I hope it was a job well done. That "paroled" thing had me a little scared. 8-)
Right on Brother!!!! Thanks for all you are doing for our country and the people of Iraq. May you have a safe trip home.
Thanks for fighting for this country. And have a safe trip home.

Welcome Home and Thank You!! Now you've got a years worth of bass fishin to catch up on.
It's all been said already...so I will simply say thanks!
Come on home! You've been gone long enough. I thank you for your service to this great country.
Can't say too much more then whats been said already. Thank you for all that you have done!! God Bless and Tight Lines.
As stated previously, the thanks go to our servicepeople like you to keep things in order. I might have a good idea for those of us who do have boats. Is there any way that we can contact the USO or someone else to let anyone coming back home know that there is a fishing trip on hold for those who are back from a tour?? I know that after a hard few days at work, a day on the lake brings back a heap of sanity to my brain, can't imagine what it could do to a person who has been in the desert for months!! Me and my boat would be at their disposal on my day off!! I will research this further and get back to y'all!!!
nb1226.....glad to hear you are coming home!!!!!
the bass should be afraid, very afraid!!!!
and thanks for your service.
Alfred

couple of pieces of advice
1. if your married remember she has been a single parent for a year... there WILL be an adjustment period.
2. Stuff is going to "bug you" for a long time for me its driving thru big cities and the "tornado sirens", they are exactly the same sound of the siren they used to warn us of incomming, and the 4th of July will never be fun again... just be aware... don't make a big deal of it... I just always make sure I mentally prepare myself when I have to drive to Milwaukee or when I know there is going to be fireworks, and I am ALWAYS indoors on Sat at noon when they test the sirens..
3. CONTINUE TO WORK OUT... you will gain weight hahahhaaha when I first got back everyone wanted to fatten me up since I "lost so much weigh" hahaha I just got INTO shape and they wanted me to get out of shape... and the home cooking.. MMMMMMMMM man... fat fat fat.. but good good good...
4. If you feel like you need to talk to someone TALK TO SOMEONE... it takes a bigger man to admit that he isn't handling being back in the world than one that holds it all in and beats the crap out of a spouse or worse you have to take care of yourself...
5. DON'T let the boat monkey anywhere near you... with all that pay you have saved up he is going to be screaching at the top of his lungs...
6. ENJOY THE FISHING... it was the ticket for me getting my head back on straight...
welcome back

Doug,
That is an awsome idea... makes me wish I owned a boat!!!!... here is what you can do if you are serious about wanting to do something like that. Since you don't live near an actual Army Post just find out where your local Army National Guard or Army Reserve Center is and just call there and talk to the Unit Administrator, Let them know what you have in mind and then give them your contact information. It may take some time but the next Battle Assembly they will put out your offer and before you know it you will have soldiers calling you left and right for a free fishing trip... hahahaha us soldiers are cheap and jump at chances like that all the time
Thanks
