tungsten bullet weights 2025

I can't seem to find any tungsten bullet weights I want for a price I like. Does anyone know where I can get some green pumpkin/brown/black tungsten weights between 3/8 and 3/4oz?

I realize they are expensive and I am willing to pay a higher price. Some brands are cheaper than others, some are painted, some aren't. I just want some that are painted and don't cost as much as the name brands. Maybe I'm asking too much but I figured I would check with you guys just to make sure there aren't any small companies selling what I'm looking for at a better price or good deals.

What is the price you like? Tru-Tungsten isn't terribly 'overpriced' for the product. There isn't a better tungsten weight on the market.

a 2-pack of Tru Tungsten in 1/2oz is $6 = $3 per 1/2oz weight

a 4-pack of Conquistador weights in 1/2oz is $8 = $2 per 1/2oz weight

a 3-pack of Kanji Senkin X-Metal weights in 1/2oz is $5 = $1.67 per 1/2 oz weight

What is the difference? As far as I can tell the only difference is that the TT are painted. The Kanji Senkin are "colored" but from the description on TW it sounds like they are still metallic looking. Is the coloring process really that expensive? Couldn't someone like Kanji Senkin make their 1/2oz weight and slap some paint on it and still sell it for say...$2.25 or even $2.50? Is that too much of a stretch?

For the most part Tru-Tungsten is competing with lead, to a much lesser point brass, and to an even lesser point steel.

You are overpaying for the price of hype.

Brass and steel are both plenty sensitive and are cheaper than tungsten.

Man, lead weights have worked for many years...I won't spend that kinda $$$ for tungstun...

Kanji Senkin X-Metal weights are anodized The formation of a hard, airtight, unbroken film of oxide on the surface of a piece of metal by an electrolytic action. The color is determined by the metal and length of times in process; with hard metals the color is very abrasion resistant.

x2 on what Burley said.I have tried other tungsten weights and most if not all are junk and will easily cut my braided line.

I don't use it cuz Ike or any other joker says I should.I use it beacause I like it.Seems to me the people who consistently knock something are the ones who haven't even tried it.

I throw out a lead weight every couple hours if not sooner fishing the shell rock drop offs and ledges in the pits around here.They get beat up in 2 seconds and will fray the line.I actually spend more on lead when it all adds up using 2-3 per trip for one worm rig per say.

just checked bass pro shops because i thought they might be cheaper, but they are not...3/8 are 4 for 8 dollars and change, 1/2 ounce are 3 for 8 dollars and change...the 1 ounce and 1 1/2 ounce are on sale but you only get two per pack...hopefully they will get cheaper as they gain popularity and more are produced...i use river 2 sea tungsten dropshot weights because they are alot smaller and i rarely get hung with them...they are a buck each but they are worth it to me

You get what you pay for and tungsten is no exception. Tru-Tungsten weights aren't painted, they're Duraseal coated. I've fished these weights exclusively for the last two years and have yet to see one chip.

The other advantage to TT is the lack of an insert. Before I started using TT, I used BPS XPS and xCalibur. Both brands feature inserts and each brand's insert started sliding out after a day or so of fishing. I lost about $20 worth of tungsten due to that faulty insert and the subsequent cutting of my line (braid, copoly and flouro).

Yes, TT is pricey. But for my money there isn't a better weight on the market. And in the two plus years I've been fishing tungsten, I've only lost around $35 worth of the stuff.

Yeah, I figured they weren't actually painted, I just didn't know what it was called. The ones I have used really are tough. I haven't had any problems with inserts on my river2sea tungsten weights but to be honest I really haven't used them that much. I get what you are saying though Burley, I can imagine they could cause some line issues.

I guess I will just have to keep buying TT weights. Honestly I don't think I've lost any of the tungsten I've used. I haven't used them a lot but they have seen a fair amount of water. I think because I usually use them with braid I don't tend to lose them that often so I guess that kind of makes me feel a little better.

One of the things I like about the TT weights compared to lead weights is the TT has a wider eyelet. I break off a little toothpick inside the hole and the weight stays in place, doesn't slide up and down on your line.

I hate the price for True Tungsten weights, BUT, BUT, BUT,

I like the feel

I like the confidence they give me over lead

AND

I pay the price as much as I hate to. My Academy store close to me quit carrying them because people were opening the packages and putting the weights in thier pockets and leaving without paying for them. That sucks!

While I like the feel of tungsten over lead I do not get hyper when I run out, I can throw lead with total confidence.

I mean come on I've seen guys drive 2 hours from the lake to have tungsten for the next morning

i do pretty good with lead , i've recently switched to using BULLET WEIGHTS screw-in bullet weights . they really work good and hold inside the worm. i love them for 10'' power worms !!!

If your looking for a little color on your weights try out some of the powder paints for lead jigheads. Theyve got quite a few colors and it looks quite easy, as all you need is a heat gun or an oven to heat up the lead. Just thought Id throw that out there...might be a good option?

Actually you just need a lighter....and even though I've never used the powder coat paints, they go on lead quiet well
