I turned the bath tub into a lure testing tank. Anybody ever try a neko rigged Senko before? It looks pretty interesting. Also a neko rigged tube bait caught my interest too. Worms of course look great, the kind like a Reaction Innovation flirt worm have a nice fluttering tail. Anybody else try anything crazy on a neko before?? I'm ready to give this rig a fair shot this season.

If you google neko rig.. and go to images.. you'll see people are doing it with just about everything.. I think the neko rig excels with larger worms. Especially the senko! It's the only way I'll fish the 6".
My favorite is the zoom trick worm. What weights are you using ?

My girlfriend walks through the front door slowly when she gets home because she's afraid of getting hit with a flying jig.I fish in the house all the time lol

Between 1/16 and 3/16. It depends how big the head of the bait is.

I've seen several different styles of weights used for neko rigging on the market. And also a few homemade variations.
I've been been using the VMC "half moon wacky weight" .. they work perfect.

I watched a video with Paul Mueller and he uses the Decoy Big Bite finesse hook. He uses the 3/0 but I like the 2/0.

This is what I'm talking about.. there are different styles of weights used.. Ive really taken a liking to the half moon. It gives the worm a "head" and sits on most surfaces perfect. As for the hook I've just been using a gammy finesse hook that I would also use for the wacky rigging or nose hooking flukes. VMC makes a neko hook but I don't need it. The ones I have work great.

Yes the half moon style are mainly what I have too. I ordered them off Ebay so no name brand.

@Fishin' Fool not so worried about name brand... They are the first.ones I came across at DSG ! And naturally (being a rapala fan) grabbed up VMC weights... Honestly alot of my weights are super cheap. A good cheap brand I've found is "Danielson" for all my split shot and drop shot needs.

I'm constantly test-driving lures and deliveries in my neighbor's gin-clear swimming pool,
but not while my wife is away, because she's there too testing her own lures & deliveries 
'Neko' is the Japanese word for CAT, which might as well be called the "Necro rig".
There really isn't too much new about 'wacky rigging' and a 'do-nothing' delivery.

I have only used the neko rig a few times, but I have always used nails or screws instead of commercial weights. Saves a lot of money and works just as well, losing the sinker every time the plastic tears off can get expensive fast when they're hitting good.

I played with a Neko rig in the kitchen sink using a jelly worm and a dry wall screw . It was interesting .

I am guilty of using my bathtub as a testing tank as well.
I actually use Nail Weights in Senkos and other soft baits when I want the bait to fall in a certain direction. For example, say I want to get my worm to drift slowly under an undercut bank or deep under a dock, I will stick a Nail in the back so it falls into areas where people rarely get their baits. If you put a Nail in a fluke you or swimbait you can also get them to glide and change the action as they sit on bottom or when Twitched. I love Nail weights for Senko's especially. I also use them for Flick Shake worms which work well at times and not sure why but some days a Flick Shake worm just flat out works and I always put a nail in one end since they seem to work better when resting that way.
I have never actually used the Neko Weights, I use the Lunker City nail weights or Nails, only issue is nails rust but not a big deal.

The only thing I test for at home is whether something sinks or floats. I use the toilet tank. No not that part, the clean tank.

I fish from the back of the living room into the kitchen. I can make a jig hit the rug in front of the sink with nary a splash.
I too am planning to fish the Neko this year.

Fishin, I swim about three times a week and I take various baits with me to drop to the pool's bottom to see how they sit and move.
It is very interesting to get to the bottom and see the baits as the bass see the baits.
I suggest everyone try it at least once with one of their favorite presentations.

Get you some Reins Bubbling shakers in the appropriate size for your area. Well assuming your water doesn't look like chocolate milk year round
