Senko Prices Have Risen Like Gas Prices 2024

fishing user avatarDiggy reply :

I was on the BPS site and noticed they (GY Senko) went from an already inflated $7.99 the other day to $8.29 a pack ohmy.gif . I bought mine from elsewhere, but I wonder if they will raise prices of these across the board. I bought my 1st bag the other day and they didnt last more than 2 days, being this is the 1st time I have ever fished these things. I didnt know how delicate they were. I bought some other brands but for some reason I think the GY ones worked like magic. Might be my imagination. I see the Kinami ones are $4.99 and I may try those along side the BPS/Yum ones I have.

Check those Kinamis closer. I haven't shopped for these type lures in a while. Kinamis are marketed by GY's son Derek and last I knew they were identical to Senkos, being made in the same factory on the same equipment. Also, last I knew, which goes back a few years, Kinamis came 7 to a pack while Senkos were 10, so the unit price was similar.

The main reason I wanted to try them out. I heard they were the same thing but less expensive and carried different colors.

Those producto prices look good! Ill try a bag alo, thanks

Even at Dicks it's 6.99... and I consider that expensive. $8 something? Highway robbery... I pick up a bunch during sales for less than 5 a pack. You can also hit up Ebay there are a few guys who sell for $4.99 the old-stock packs with old packaging. Same old senko.

fishing user avatarbreezy reply :

I started using yum dingers instead last year when wal-mart had them on sale for $2-$3 a pack. Bought everything they had in the colors I wanted. They are more durable than senkos which leads me to believe they're not as soft, but I don't really notice a difference in numbers between the two, although it's impossible to compare. Until I'm fishing tourneys where I have $100k on the line I'll stick with a product that (at worst) may not be quite as good as the original for 1/4 the price.

Already starting to run low in some colors though and I'm worrying what I will do next  When the time comes I will probably sample a few different senko knockoffs from the custom pourers and hopefully find one I like.

fishing user avatarQuillback reply :

Anytone try the Strike King 3X with elaztech? Supposedly very durable. I haven't tried them, just curious if anyone has and what you thought.

fishing user avatarBassin_Fin@tic reply :

here we go...

fishing user avatarshootermcbob reply :

Try the Gander mountain house brand. I started fishing them last summer after I bought a pack on sale. add some megastrike, and go catch fish. I have caught several fish w/ these. Best part....4.99 for a 15 pack. I bought mine for 4.00 bucks a pack on sale.

Just use a coupon Woody

fishing user avatargrimlin reply :

Dingers are starting to get expensive themselves too.$5-$5.99 a pack from what I've found around here.I've been using up my inventory from a past sponsor here that sold ***. I'm catching so many fish on it I don't see the point in ever needing to buy senkos.I don't do all that well with senkos anyways.

My 4 pound bass came off a luck-e strike worm,a pack I brought for under $2.00.Needless to say I cleaned out both walmarts of that particular worm and color.I'm a big fan of luck e strike plastics. :D

Is "t-rick s-tick" a banned word? I just notice it got edited out..

Gander Mountain starts their Senkos at $6.99 but they seem to always be reduced further. Last sale flyer had buy 3 get 1 free. The current flyer that just came out has them at 20% off.

I've stopped using Senkos for wacky rigging (don't use an o-ring) because of lack of durability. Recently I've been substituting stick baits by Big Bite Baits and Yum. Next time I'm in the store I'm grabbing a pack of Net Bait. I hear they have about the same amount of salt in them as Senkos and you get much more in the pack.

Bingo!!! I pay less then $5 all the time. Shop around then stock up.

fishing user avatarBASSclary reply :

My gander has "Pro Packs" of senkos for a decent price. 40 senkos for only $10. Not bad indeed. Fish nicely also, and dont get tore up too bad.

fishing user avatarBrand0n reply :

ive always use dingers for the price and durability and they are $4.99/pk @ dicks sporting goods here. tried some strike king shim e sticks today and no action what so ever. put on a dinger and caught 3 bass. dingers, fish hold on. caught 3 bass on one worm and no damage at all to it.

But that's the Gander mountain brand correct? It's an excellent deal if you like that brand of stick worm.

fishing user avatarMarc David reply :

Pour your own. Play around with the formula until you get it right. Several custom pourers have been able to get their stick baits just like GYCB.

fishing user avatarScorcher214 reply :

IMO, senkos are not worth it. they tear like mad and I've had MUCH better luck with MegaSticks.

fishing user avatarAluma-Bass reply :

this is what i haved switched to...saved me money and i have 100's of senkos now. Cant tell much diff from the name brand stuff. Have all colors you can think of just search on ebay.

The last few years, Gander Mt has had GY Senkos 30% off in the spring. That's the time to stock up.

fishing user avatarWdyCrankbait reply :

Heads up, I just opened the local paper here in Richmond, VA and Dick's Sporting Goods is advertising "buy three, get one free," and there is a package of GY Senkos in the article. Someone mentioned Dick's in an ealier thread sells them for $6.99/pack. So, the math would work out to about $5.25/pack before tax. Letting everyone know to check everyones papers this morning.

Sorry, but I disagree. While they are more expensive than they should be GYB senkos are one of the few overpriced products I will pay for. More salt equals more weight and better casting distance. I have not found another stickbait that I can cast as far as real senkos. Also they tear like mad because they are softer, which means better action and fish will hold longer. I use o rings which I know some people don't like but I have no problem with them and makes them last a lot longer.

Again let me just say I am usually the first guy to bash a product who raises their prices based on namebrand recognition, however not in this case I really believe they are with it. Also I should mention I don't use them too often,if.I was out their losing a pack or two a day if might have a different opinion.

fishing user avatarLuckyHandsINC. reply :

Also let me add the dicks near me sells them for 6.50 a pack. 8.29 is absolutely ridiculous and I don't think I would pay that. Bass pro is a rip off in itself. Go to ***.com better prices, products, shipping, and customer service. I havent spent a dollar at basspro since I found out about ***.

tell me about it. bass pro is getting way overpriced and when they have "Sales" its on things id never use. i bought my first pack of GYB senkos last night and ill see how long they last. ive been using dingers for a while. great action, cheaper, and last a while.

fishing user avatarBassThumb reply :

A little Mend-It will double the life of a pack of Senkos. After two fish, take the bait off and set it aside to dry, then Mend-It and get another couple fish with it.

So...We find a way to trash the bait and the retailers?

This is why we have a "Senko" section on the forum:
