My Favorite Fluoro Line! 2025

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

What's your all around favorite Fluoro for your different styles of fishing and explain why please?

Here's Mine:

For my style of fishing, the Vicious Pro Elite 25# is GREAT... And I believe that I've tried EVERYTHING! I need fluoro that's Strong, low stretch, more abrasion resistant, last longer etc., and this stuff definitely fits the bill. NO, they're not my sponsor, I'm telling it STRAIGHT UP how it works for me ;)

I require a heavier fluoro than most for my fishing style (Soft Plastics and Jigs) and with all of the others I've tried... and there have been many... there has been too much stretch, too easy to break, not abbraision resistant enough etc. This stuff not only has all of the qualities that I look for but last longer than all of the others as well! Of course it coils with memory after it sets for a time but with one good stretch from a fish or a snag... It's like Brand New again and remains that way for an extended period. I'm not sure of it's use for cranks, spinnerbaits or on spinning gear etc., but I'm positive for my uses.

Hope this didn't sound like a sales pitch... But if I was a salesman, I would have no problem representing this stuff!

Thanks for that info. i'll look into the line.

To me it doesn't get much better than Seaguer Invisx #15 flouro on my jig rod. I would the sentsitivity and the strength that you get out of this line.

I have never had a need to beef up this line because I have never broken off a fish since I started using this line 2 years ago.

X 2 If it is not broken don't fix it!!!!!!!!

I love the regular Vicious fluoro in 12lb test. I tried the Pro Elite in 17lb and hated it. I couldn't do anything right with it. I would give it another shot if I was catching big fish like you have been posting lately though!!!!!

This is the best comparison I have yet seen. You can see that most brands fall below 90% on knot strength. I like flouro line, but I want to see some improvement in knot strength.

I use it and like it as well- however i have broken off quite a few fish- fishing sharp rock edges and rocks though i have to expect it- great manegable line, just have to make sure to retie often which is tough when on fish!

fishing user avatarmsolorio reply :

sunline sniper!!!! this stuff is ridiculous! very low stretch, great abrasion resistance, very managable on both casting and spinning gear, great sensitivity. its just the best imo. even sunlines super fluorocarbon is awesome and its onlo 14.99 per 200yd spool. if i couldnt use sunline next in line would definantly be vicious pro elite, its some really good stuff. as for seaguar, never, ever, ever again will i have that stuff spooled up. cost me too many fish on break offs and has way too much stretch for my liking.

Big Game is not Flouro. it is mono!!!

fishing user avatarGangley reply :

I like Seagur Invisx, but only in their larger (15lb+) weight. I have a spool of their 10 lbs line but it broke on me so many times that is just sits on my work bench now. The 15 lbs plus though, its FANTASTIC and hasnt broken on me yet, and I use it for flipping and pitching around concrete colverts, rocks, etc. I may have gotten a bad spool of the 10 lbs, who knows, but I wont be purchasing it again for use as a light weight line.

I use Invisx...

20# on flippin rod, 15# texas rig plastic rod and 15# on the spinner bait rod.

Hmmmm......I have been using Invisx but might have to give this a try. Thanks for the recommendation!

fishing user avatarBig-O reply :

25# Invizx was my choice prior to this... used it for a year or so and had too many stretch and break problems... My style of fishing is "tuff on stuff"

fishing user avatarLgMouthGambler reply :

Though not a fluoro, I prefer Yozuri.

fishing user avatarroadwarrior reply :

I have ben experimenting with a lot of different lines for the past 18 months or so.

After all that, I'm back to Yo-Zuri for everything except jigs and The Rig (Sufix 832).

With regard to fluorocarbon lines, this is how I rate my "experimental" lines:

#1 Tatsu is THE BOMB!

#2 Seaguar AbrazX #12 for baitcasting; InvizX #10 for spinning tackle

I haven't tried Vicious since it was first introduced and the experience

was very disappointing. Based on Big O's recommendation, I will give it

another try.

fishing user avataroutdoorsman110 reply :

I use TATSU. That's it.

Wait until you have kids, then Invisx or AbrazX will be great lines!

Haha!! I know I'm spendy. I only spend my money on gas, my girlfriend, food, and fishing. When I'm off on my own I'll cut back on a lot... Haha.

Don't get me wrong, I spend a good amount of fishing, but I cannot justify paying $40 a spool for line when I difference between Invisx and Tatsu is minimal in my opinion (granted I only used a sample spool for a brief period of time).

Well my experience with it was pretty good, My grandfather used it and gave me a spool ( this was back in 07 ) I never really used it until last year. I put it on my Pflueger Supreme XT and boy I tell ya, that line has lasted forever. I have not had to respool it in over 15 months. I haven't had any signs of wear with it. The lady that runs the local tackle store here in fredericksburg gives me a 20% discount on everything I purchase.. She always says I'm cute so.. I guess that is an advantage. I use 15lb test.

I also like Suffix Fluro; fan of suffix.

100% Trilene Flouro
