Alright guys, I am in the market for a good spinning rod and reel combo.
you have 400.00 to build this. Please include line. I mainly want to use this set up as a shakey head and other plastic finesse techniques.
Peice of cake. Shimano Stradic Ci4, mounted on a 7'med xfast Crucial, and spooled with 8lb Yo Zuri Hybrid.

Man that looks good!!
Daiwa Advantage-A Spinning Reel
Daiwa TD Fuego Spinning Rod
8lb Invisx is fine but prefer 8lb P-Line FloroClear
ML or M version will work but I like my M
Id go CI4/cumara.
You deserve it.

Make it Seaguar Tatsu or Invisx
Shimano Stradic FI 2500 with a Dobyns Champion 703SF along with 8lbs SeaGuar InvizX.
SJ
Ci4 and a cumara mf is my smallie rod.
cumara and ci4 or fuego and fuego
6'10 XF Medium Powered Daiwa Fuego
Soron STX 20
20lb suffix braid
8lb mono leader
Heaven, Nirvana, w/e floats your boat
Dobyns Champion 702/Shimano Stradic 2500 spooled with Sunline Sniper 8lb
Huh, didn't know everyone liked the Cumara spinning like that.
(BTW, I'd go CI4 and Cumara)
personally, id go either pflueger supreme xt or patriarch (30 or 35 size) and the ST Croix Avid of your choice. spooled with sufix 832 with the fluoro leader of your choice!
I forgot to mention, I am also a Shimano fan..

In that case, I say spoil yourself and blow your whole budget on a Cumulus.
For that kind of coin I would be patient and get a 803 or 803 Loomis GLX from a fishing forum for around 250 and pair it with a Shimano Stradic FI. Having owned both the FI and the CI4 I don't feel like there is that big of difference in performance (although the CI4 looks good).

Hahah x2!
It might take you longer to have the set up, but once you finally have it all pieced together I'm sure you'll be glad you had the patience!
How about a custom built this St Croix blank:
5S69MLXF-B 6'9" 1 6-10 1/8-1/2 ML X-FAST Drop Shot Bass .43 4 1.7
Tennessee Carbon Grip
With the Stradic, 20lb braid, a 6' 8lb fluoro leader and tungsten weight.
7'3 med Fuego rod with a Ci4
If I had $400 to spend on what I would consider the best finesse spinning set-up, I would get the following:
G Loomis BSR852 GLX (If you are patient enough, you can get this for around $250 to $270).
Pflueger Supreme 8030 or 8035
Fluorocarbon Line of your choice in 8 or 10 lb. test
Note: This is just my opinion as to what I consider the best spinning finesse set-up out there for under $400
st croix ltb 6'9" ml -230.00
shimano ci4 1000 or 2500= 200.00

I have paid $280 or less for all but one of my Cumulus rods. That and a $165 CI4(have purchased three at that price from this forum and others) would be pretty close to his budget. :-X
I do a lot of shaky fishing and this is the ticket i use.
Pflueger® Supreme® XT 9230XTX
Denali Rosewood 843SH 7' Shaky head rod
Seaguar TOTSU 8lb
I use 2
7'M-XF Damiki Dark Angel, Stradic CI4, 8lb Red Label
7'2''M-XF Pinnacle Perfecta, Pflueger Supreme XT, 8 lb InvisX
I am going with the shimano set up. Like someone already stated, '' it might take longer to have, but the wait is worth it''.
stradic ci4 3000 & cumara 7ft med xf?
I just got the stradic paired with a 7 ft falcon jeff kriet sqiurrel tail rod and really like it
