I FISH CATOUACHE, BAYOU BLACK, SPILLWAY, DES ALLEMANDS, DELACROIX, MANCHAC AND ANY OTHER BASS HOLDING WATERS IN SOUTH LA. TELL US ANY CLUBS THAT YOU MAY FISH WITH ALSO. I FISH A SMALL CLUB THAT FISHES ALL THESE PLACES CALLED NEXT GENERATION BASS CLUB.

I'm not in a club, but I'm right next door in Ponchatoula...fish Tangi and Manchac mostly (with some interstate ponds aswell) and usually make a trip or two to cataoutchi and my buddy has a hunting lease off bayou black and we fish in there.

Just moved to Fort Polk, LA and love to fish for bass, stripers, and crappie. Looking for some good places to fish at around the area with minimal gator action. Thanks for any info or tips!! Chris D

Live in Luling. Cataoutche is in my back yard so thats where I spend most of my time of course. Recently joined Stump Bumpers bass club.

I have a bass tournament to fish in the basin out of Morgan City in October. Are there maps available of the areas that can be fished? Boat ramps to use? Where can this information be found? Etc, etc. As you can tell I've never fished the basin.

Any help would be appreciated!

I know of two landings for the basin in Morgan City. One is Doiron's landing (outside of the basin levee) and the other is Adam's landing (basin side of the levee). Academy should have maps of the basin although not very detailed. If you have a GPS that takes a Navionics card, you can get a card for the Gulf of Mexico that will provide good navigation and names of canals and lakes from Henderson Lake all the way down to the Gulf.

DOIRONS AND ADAMS LANDING HAVE A LANDING ON BOTH SIDES, BASIN AND BELLE RIVER SIDE. YOU JUST HAVE TO LAUNCH ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE LEVEE TO GET IN THE BASIN. THE BELLE RIVER PUBLIC LANDING NORTH OF ADAMS LANDING ONLY HAS A BASIN SIDE LAUNCH. ALSO MAPS ARE AVAILABLE AT ANY ACADEMY, BPS, CABELAS, OR ANY LARGER TACKLE STORES IF YOU CAN'T FIND THEM PM ME AND I'LL FIND ONE FOR YOU. MIKE 8-)

BTW, I grew up in South Louisiana (Abbeville) Most of my fishing in my younger years was done in salt water, although I have fished the Basin a number of times.

St Charles parish checking in here... I fish all the surrounding waters as well. I just joined Bonnet Carre Bassmasters. We have our monthly tourney on the 11th in bayou Black... I havent fished it yet so I am looking forward to it!

Julius You're welcome to fish with us we are "Next Generation Bass Club" based in Baton Rouge, Not affliated with any associations. We fish two times a year at each landing, Manchac, Catoache, Des Allemands, Bayou Black and usually one or two lakes like Concordia or St Johns. At the end of the year for our members, usually March, we get an expense paid trip with payouts to Toledo Bend. We take non boaters, kids can fish with their parents. Good friends, no argueing or anything to distract from just having a good time fishing...........Mike 8-)

i am from Baton rouge. used to fish in west baton rouge bass club but it disbanded. have been fishing saltwater mostly the 8 years or so. i do bass fish some ponds on the deer lease and private lake in DeQuincy.

I love Toledo Bend and have been thinking about making a trip there soon.

I live in Baton Rouge (all of my 58 years) and fish the Atchafalya Spillway, Bayou Black marshes, Lake Verrett/Stephensville, and Lake Catouche locally. I also fish Lake St. John and the Old River Lakes near Ferriday, LA quite a bit. I try to make a couple of week long trips to Toledo Bend every year also.

i fish a lot of the same areas cataouachie, bayou black, des allemands, and some further south places like clovely and the yearly trip to toledo
