Does anyone have any info about this lake? I will be there in a month and have never been before.
Thanks
Ron
Welcome aboard!
8-)
What part of the lake are you staying? I fish it a lot and will be happy to help you. I usually stay at Oak Cove Marina on the North East side(Palestine Highway).
That is where we will be putting in at. I have a room in Corsicana.

Do you have a map? Crabb and Grape creek are the two most well known creeks to fish. There is also a huge flat down south to the left of the dam that has lots of humps and grass with deeper water up against it. The real hot spots are humps and pond dams located all across the lake. I can send you a map if you like and then point out some areas that will help you.
One thing you need to know. When the water was way down years ago many farmers put up metal t-rods for fence post that have been covered with growth. They do a lot of damage to the gelcoats on boats up in the pockets and out on a lot of points. You can see them in the water as you troll by and they just look like stickups and they are not. Just watch out for them and be careful when you hit the TM and run the bottom of the boat across them.
My phone number is 281 224-8853.
Let me know,
Jack
That would be awesome!!!!!!
I have a map on the way. I ordered a Hot Spots map should be here first part of next week.
Thanks so much you are very nice to help me.
Ron
Let me know when you receive it and we can go over it. There will be some pond dams that will not show up so I will give you the waypoints to several that should have some good fish on them.
Ok got the map. What is a good day ime to call you? I work until 4pm central M-F.
Thanks
Ron
Any day except today. It is my wife's birthday and we are going out to eat this evening. Just pick any other day and let me know.
Ok then I will call you Wednesday around 5pm central. Hope she has a good birthday.
Thanks
Thanks
Cableman,
You getting ready for the Championship on RC?
Yes, I am pretty excited about going to a new lake! I have another championship the weekend before that one. I will be worn out when they are over.
Hope to meet you there. Are you fishing the Championship on Sam Rayburn as well in OCT.?
I think you might have read the name Smith, Steve, won two boats last year on the indivdual and team trail.
My gilrfriend and his wife, who used to be pretty salty herself, was setting together at last tourney weigh in. His wife said he C-rigs and cranks on RC any time of the year. Had over 28 lbs and won early in the season. Deep water is his forte.
April was our first tourney their and first trip, weather kept us off both weekends before. We had 12 and change with weightless senkos, 2nd tourney there, Finesse worms caught 20+ fish but not much size.
Good luck
Matt
If we win enough to cover this trip and Rayburn then we will go. We will be there Wednesday night. Looking for fish all day Thursday and Friday. Hopefully we will meet down there.
Later
Ron
Fishfordollars and Cableman.
Man we got on some fish this weekend, We found lots of brush piles up lake and GPs them. Sampled a few as we went. Had some nice fish.
Marked over 40 piles, Not sure with the weather coming in, that I'll be able to get on the lake any more to prefish any areas you might have led me to.
Thanks for your willingness to help. Hope we can meet up sometime. Daughter has tranferred to SFA. So that will put me in your areas more often. Would love to hook up with some of the east/La guys some day.

Matt, Nacogdoches is my hometown. Let me know when you will be around. My mother worked at SFA for 28 years. By the way, try not to let your daughter find Bullfrogs and or the Annex. Both sit side by side and are guaranteed to destroy GPAs.
thanks for that advice. I'll be emailing my daughter very soon with that info. She is starting 3rd year of criminal law.
I had told her there is a pond behind the Ag facilities where I can come take my grandson fishing. She's asked how I knew that.
Fishing forums have long arms. lol
Hookem.
The ag pond is three blocks from my mother's home. If you like lets put a trip together for Lake Nacogdoches. It is eight miles from town, 2500 acres, and long known for double digit fish. I will be happy to take you. I have had two sacks over 20lbs in tournaments off that lake since June. I am fishing Lake Jacksonville this Saturday and will be leaving my boat at my mother's home in Nac. on Sunday.
Let me know.
Matt, this lake is under the BASS 1 state regs. You can keep 5 under 16", but nothing between 16 and 24". Any fish over 24" can be retained for weighing to see if it will qualify for the state Share-A-Lunker program(Over 13 lbs.). If it does not qualify it must be immediately released back into the lake. If the bite is on we probably can put 40-50 in the boat for the day. Tons of 8-10 lb. fish are caught.
This is the only lake in the state under these regulations. It started Sept. 1 of this year. They want to grow some giants and are using this lake for the pilot project. It has lots of grass flats and plenty of 30-50 ft. water. The lake record is between 15 and 16 lbs.
Man fishfordollars you're really tempting me to go visit my brother there in Nac. and fish Lake Nacogdoches while I'm there. If yall ever eat at Casa Tomas while there in Nac. and get Kevin as a waiter watch out hes kinda crazy. lol j/k

We eat there a lot. The offer stands for you also if you would like to go one day.
My sweetie was reading that new reg. on Nac last night.
I have always heard that Lake Nac is a hidden jewel. Too many good lakes in the area. I was told that Ag pond had some nice bass at one time as well.
I'll take you up on that offer soon.

I know of one DD out of it in the last several years. It was put back. No telling how many baby ducks he ate over the years.
First practice day was tough! Caught a few short fish and one keeper 4.6 pounds.
hey fishfordollars,
We managed to move up on Sunday for nice check. We finished 6th.
Only had 8 keepers for 28.01. Couple of younger guys managed to boat 28 lb sack with War Eagle spinnerbaits in the grass down by 309 to win it on the last day, 36 and change walked with BassCat w/200 Merc.
Proud of L Train and myself. We came out of a divison that has some older sticks that are always in the mix at the top. Those guys have 30-60 years of experience on those lakes, I call them jackpotters. lol We fished consitently all year to be in the top ten. Would love to see L Train move on up and fish co angler next year or boater to work his way up. I had fun this year chasing points. Missed Fork all year though.
Keep an ear open for what going on at Rayburn. We have another championship there in late Oct.
Looking forward fishing with you some time.

Curious Matt, Where are the 309 flats? Is there more grass that I don't know about? I thought those boys were fishing the same area as we were.
LOVE THE GRASS.
Not the same area as us.
