Customer service has delayed and done everything they can to not honor this warranty. Took weeks to send replacement parts that did not fix it. Now waiting weeks for the next attempt. I would definitely not buy this again.

Answer: The various cooking methods comprise the numbers. Some of the grills have all 8 functions, such as grilling, smoking, roasting, baking, to name a few. You have to dig into the product description to see the specific cooking functions of the particular grill you are interested. We've used the smoking, grilling, roasting and baking functions on our Z Grill with excellent results.

Answer: Yes, as in you don't need to start a fire. The wood pellets are ever so slowly moved along by an electric auger through an electric heat element. This causes the pellets to get hot enough to produce smoke, even a flame at times.

Answer: You only have to remove 2 things to clean out the ashes. The grill and the drip pan. If you use good quality pellets, the ashes is minimal. I only cleaned mine out every 3-4 cooks and it produced about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of ashes out of 6-10 lbs of pellets. Your mileage may vary due to the cook, ambient temperature, relative humidity, temp & weight of the meat, etc...

I was very excited to use this pellet smoker/grill/everything else. My primary reason to purchase it was to smoke items like ribs and brisket.
My first experience was wonderful. I went through the initial start up process and everything worked well. I used Traeger’s premium signature pellets since this is essentially a Treager xerox. After going through the start up process, I pulled out a 13lb angus brisket trimmed with a 1/4 layer of fat and put this bad boy to work. I won’t lie, I have never smoked anything in my life but after reading hundreds of reviews about pellet smokers, I was a convert. Showing my smoking inexperience, I expected a nice plume if smoke to generate during the whole process. Initially, there was a decent plume of smoke but after the first hour or so, it reduced to a light haze. I got worried for a while but came to find that it is normal for pellet grill which is why some folks prefer an alternative smoker. My 10 hours was rewarded with a BEAUTIFUL smoke ringed brisket that was absolutely delightful. Everyone loved it and I was the king of the castle. We are sliced brisket, chopped brisket, Brisket burritos, and brisket tacos. Everyone was happy. Afterwards, I cleaned the grill and fire pot as instructed by the manual.
Unfortunately, this was the last time I was able to use the grill. My next attempt was to grill a tomohawk ribeye. I started the unit up on smoke as instructed. Once it was working as expected, I closed the lid and turned the temp to 375. The unit stated out like normal, fan running to bring the temp up to the desired temperature, but it did it stop. The temp gauge kept going up and up to 490°, and then stayed there for 20 min. I thought that I had made a mistake, so I went through the shutdown procedure, and cleaned it out as instructed and tried again. After going through the startup procedure, the temperatures went up to 475 - 500 ° again. I checked it with 2 separate temperature probes and the grill was showing at least 200° more than the external probes were reporting.
I’ve reached out to z-grills to see if they can do anything about it. I will report back, but for now, it is looking like a return / refund situation.

Grill is very well built. Easy to assemble. Easy to light off. The temp was way off however. The company sent me a new improved controller which was easy to install. The temp control was much better but temp varies which I found out is normal on pellet grills. Have used the grill several times with excellent results.

Christmas gift for my Fiancé, and he absolutely loves it. The downside is the height, he is 6’5” and not having a tray table on the side, this model doesn’t come with it. Every Sunday is now called Smokin’ Sunday. He loves it. We will definitely upgrade in the upcoming years but this is a great starter smoker! We’ve been cooking ribs, steak tips, brisket, chicken wings, Brussel sprouts, and many more meats! Def recommended!!

Sometimes the temperature can be a bit all over the place, and the hopper definitely is not 10 pounds as described. I’ve filled it up from empty four times from my 40 pound bag and still have about 15 pounds left plus it used up all the pellets in 6 hours at 225 instead of 10 hours.

I purchased this grill and when I got it put together it kept blowing fuses so I called the customer service number it said they would return my call in 48 hours they called back and left me a message to call them back so I did now I have to wait another 48 hours for them to call me back this is what I call very bad customer service

No issues so far and it seems very well made and should last years longer than the cheap, thin steel gas grills I've had in the past. Doesn't seem to always stay on temp but mine is exposed to the sun which makes it run much hotter and I have to keep an eye on it and adjust the temp dial to moderate it. But if it's out of the sun it does the expected +- 10 degrees of the setting. Nice smoke ring and taste and I no longer burn the food! I don't know about the electronics with rain exposure so I drape some foil over the dial just in case.
UPDATE: Now going into it's third grilling season this grill still works like new, and the paint and steel are also like new. I now ignore the digital temp reading and keep a regular oven thermometer inside to get the heat I want and set the dial that way. I get cold winters so it is stored in the garage during winter which ZGrills support recommended. Just Shopvac out the ash every half dozen or so uses and give it a good cleaning at the end or beginning of each season.
