Customer service has delayed and done everything they can to not honor this warranty. Took weeks to send replacement parts that did not fix it. Now waiting weeks for the next attempt. I would definitely not buy this again.

Answer: The various cooking methods comprise the numbers. Some of the grills have all 8 functions, such as grilling, smoking, roasting, baking, to name a few. You have to dig into the product description to see the specific cooking functions of the particular grill you are interested. We've used the smoking, grilling, roasting and baking functions on our Z Grill with excellent results.

Answer: Yes, as in you don't need to start a fire. The wood pellets are ever so slowly moved along by an electric auger through an electric heat element. This causes the pellets to get hot enough to produce smoke, even a flame at times.

Answer: You only have to remove 2 things to clean out the ashes. The grill and the drip pan. If you use good quality pellets, the ashes is minimal. I only cleaned mine out every 3-4 cooks and it produced about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of ashes out of 6-10 lbs of pellets. Your mileage may vary due to the cook, ambient temperature, relative humidity, temp & weight of the meat, etc...

The hopper was bent in upon delivery. Don't worry, I can't even box it up to return it because a screw snapped when I tried installing it and now the legs are stuck. Garbage quality. Buy a traeger instead.

My new pellet grill arrived yesterday. Today, I unboxed and assembled it with great anticipation! Assembly was pretty straightforward, simple instructions and process. Its heavy, so its helpful to have someone handy in case you need help unboxing ot turning it upside down for assembly. It's packaged well and arrived without damage. They include a basic toolkit for assembly.
Unfortunately, that's where the happiness comes to a sudden stop. I plugged in to begin the initial startup. When I turned the switch to ON, immediately the display reads Err2. Per the owner's manual, this indicates a shorted temp probe. (See edit below)
Disappointment (not anymore)
I called the Customer Support phone number on the manual and after many rings, got a voicemail. I did leave a message but I guess my 1st brisket will have to wait until next weekend. I also sent an email to customer support. I'm very disappointed so far. I'll update when and if I get a return call.
UPDATE: I received a reply email in less than 8 hours from customer support explaining that this is some kind of default setting. Turning the knob from Smoke to Shutdown and back to Smoke, cured the issue. No actual failure.

I do wish this was explained in the manual or in the Startup instructions. Increasing review to 4 stars. Cooks well although the temperature does vary 10-20 degrees from the set temp. Ribs and a brisket were very flavorful with beautiful smoke rings.

DO NOT BUY THIS GRILL!!! It worked less than a year. The company touts a 3-year warranty, but sends parts for me to replace and it still does not work. They now want to send more parts for me to replace. I’ve spent hours trying to get this thing to work with no luck. It is LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. DO NOT BUY.

The ZGrills Pellet grill worked for two weeks, during which time we were quite enthusiastic over the food we were producing. There were a total of 6 meals made. One evening, I went to fire up the grill and received an error code. At that time I went through the cleaning procedure outlined in the manual and the grill fired up. Except that it shutdown after 45 minutes. Restarts fluctuated between Error 1 and Error 2.
I sent an email to ZGrills describing the events. I was asked to confirm that the temperature probe connectors were not loose. I re-affixed the contact and confirmed their tightness with the same unsuccessful result.
Zgrills adivsed that the probe is faulty and would send out a new temperature probe. That was several weeks ago with no sign of a new probe. As of this writing, I am out a good sum of money and have a chunk of metal to rust on my back porch.
I cannot recommend this product as I have o recourse but to write this review and to spend more weeks sending requests for a temperature probe on the off chance it might work. two months and no ability to grill.

Built like it's overpriced competitor and saved a LOT of money. I love mine. The starting instructions didn't work so I followed the startup up instructions from it's competitor and got it rolling. I did have to take the pellet box apart and reattach the wires inside. They came loose during shipping.

This was a Christmas gift for my son - The smoker was easy to put together by himself in less than an hour. He seasoned it and used it two days later to smoke a brisket. He was concerned that it might not hold its heat as he started it when a winter storm was rolling in - but the smoker held its temperature well and did not burn excessive pellets. The brisket was delicious and cooked to perfection with a nice smoke ring.

Tp1 : Great smoke but small hopper.
This really does deliver a beautiful smoke flavor and even created a nice bark on my brisket. Sometimes the temperature can be a bit all over the place, and the hopper definitely is not 10 pounds as described. I’ve filled it up from empty four times from my 40 pound bag and still have about 15 pounds left plus it used up all the pellets in 6 hours at 225 instead of 10 hours.

Christmas gift for my Fiancé, and he absolutely loves it. The downside is the height, he is 6’5” and not having a tray table on the side, this model doesn’t come with it. Every Sunday is now called Smokin’ Sunday. He loves it. We will definitely upgrade in the upcoming years but this is a great starter smoker! We’ve been cooking ribs, steak tips, brisket, chicken wings, Brussel sprouts, and many more meats! Def recommended!!
