How many cycles can be expected, if these bags are re-usable? Thx!
Answer: The key to how long you can keep using these is the little blue circle that surrounds the valve where you actually suck the air from. They actually send you extra of these when you buy a box of the bags. It also depends on how many times you open and close the bag because eventually you'll wear out the blue circle. If you can buy those circles by themselves, you can probably use the bags a lot of times.
Answer: The longevity appears to be quite arbitrary as there is a lack of consistency with these bags. Some have performed well up to six or so reuses while others have failed right out of the package. Applying an adhesive tape over the valve appears to help prevent leaking in most cases. That said, I’ve noticed an improvement in their performance as of late.

Answer: Hit or miss with food sealer. Make sure the double zipper is really sealed good, by swiping it four of five times. The hand held vacuum bag sealer that is on a rewindable hose (Model V5800 series), is very tricky to get a vacuum started in the bag. Using food saver bags it starts vacuum sealing almost immediately, but they are expensive. If you can put up with a little frustration and saving money is high on your list, these bags are an acceptable substitute. Dealing with frustration is not high on my list, so I ordered a bunch of food saver bags that were on sale.

Answer: I have not had a problem with them sealing or holding a seal. I do not use that plastic tool sent with the bags I just put them on my counter and flatten the seal and make sure it is sealed and no food caught in the seal. If food gets into seal it won't seal properly so just wipe the seal with a clean paper towel and try again. I have been using these bags for a while now and they do the job. Good luck!
Answer: I have had the same problem with some of the bags, dont know if it is the design or not closing them tight enough. I reused some of the ones that didnt hold seal and they work. Have to be very specific when you close the bag with the little deal they send with them.

My grandmother had recently purchased a Reynolds Handi-vac (which came with only a couple starter bags) as a thrift store find only to find that the actual bags weren't something you could easily pick up. Wanting to assist I used the power of the Amazon app to find these bags and purchased them for her in the hopes they might be what she needed.
I'm pleased to say that these are practically the same as the starter bags so now she can put her Handi-vac to use instead of being a wasted purchase!

We process wild and farm raised meat. We raise quail, and shoot wild hogs and deer. The original Reynolds hand held vacuum pump we bought years ago still works like new but the bags are no longer available in the grocery stores. We found these on Amazon and they are the best ever. They stay sealed, are heavy duty, and the pump works perfectly with them. They ship fast ... really fast.
PS We have a high dollar Cabelas vacuum sealer that doesn't hold a candle to these & the battery operated hand held.

This is my favorite size for vacuum bags and these bags work great. But they don't always seal the first time. I don't know if it's the bag or the tool that sucks the air out of them but I have to rearrange the food and make sure the bag is sealed tight several times before the air is sucked out of them.

The valve is just a sticker and it comes off very easily. Sometimes it comes off while you’re trying to pump out the air, other times, you successfully vacuum the bag just to find out the sticker came off in the freezer. Some of my food got stale and freezer burned.

Some of the bags I've used so far have leaked air back in over the course of a few minutes. These don’t reliably hold a vacuum. If I tape over the vacuum hole after vacuuming they seem to be fine.

I bought these as a replacement for the original freezer vacuum bags that came with my new vacuum sealer . I ran out of the originals because I used them up so quickly. These bags from Hoyo were a big disappointment and a total waste of money. While they are easy to use, they are cheap...and do not work. They do not prevent ice from forming on the food placed inside of them after using the vacuum sealer once the sealed bag is stored in the freezer....unlike the originals. Frankly, these don’t seal out cold/ice as well a regular Ziploc freezer bag. I feel like I was ripped off.

Bags suction well and appear to be vacuum sealed but some of the bags I received in the pack lose their vacuum within 24-48 hours. I am double, triple checking the zipper seal and vacuuming all of the air out but, no matter, some of these just won't hold a vacuum. Thought it was me or my foodsaver but thats was not the case. The valves on all 18 bags were stuck to the bag and did not work. Went to the gal size OEM foodsaver bags and the worked like a charm.

I love that you do not have to pull out a big vacuum machine. Just use the battery operated device and line up with the blue dot, turn on and vacuum seal your item. I have used this system for several years now when I just need to seal an item or two. Battery on sealer works for quite a while before you have to replace the batteries.

Bags suction well and appear to be vacuum sealed but some of the bags I received in the pack lose their vacuum within 24-48 hours. I am double, triple checking the zipper seal and vacuuming all of the air out but, no matter, some of these just won't hold a vacuum. Going to have to spend a few extra $ and get the name brand ones I guess.

These vacuum seal bags worked well with a hand held vacuum sealer device! Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the seal to begin, but does the job! We make homemade Italian sausage and I’m tired of freezer burned sausage with regular ziplock bags. This should do the trick!

I was excited to see a reasonably priced vacuum sealer bag until I received them and tried to use. They don't work! Don't waste your money! I wish there was a way to contact the seller before I posted the review so I could explain to them I don't have money to waste and if their product doesn't work, improve or remove...

I really like these bags. They are sturdy and work well with the Debby Meyer hand sealer which is what I use. It also helps that they are cheaper than the Debbie Meyer bags. They are hard to wash out if you wish to reuse them, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 so I usually use throw them away. Good product

I've ordered these bags in both gallon and quart sizes several times. I use them primarily to store food that I am going to freeze, and have also used them for sous vide cooking. They prevent freezer burn, don't leak, and are easy to use with the pump (that one buys separately). Both cooked and uncooked meats keep longer in these than in bags than in regular freezer bags. They can be hard to open, especially for hands weakened by arthritis, so I keep a pair of small needle nose pliers in the kitchen. I also find it necessary to use the included plastic slider to be sure the bag is closed. On 2 occasions, I have found that the bags have slits in them (see picture). I discovered this long after I purchased. So now I'll check when they come in as 5 of the 18 bags had a slit when I went to freeze some food yesterday.

Some don't seal the first time and after using and cleaning many of the bags do not seal well. So far we reused 9 bags and they do not stay sealed.

I have ordered this product on two separate occasions, both times for my mother, and had two completely different experiences. One great, one awful. I can't leave 2.5 stars, so I'm defaulting to 2 stars.
There were absolutely no problems with the first order, both the gallon and quart bags were exactly what she was looking for and did exactly what she wanted them to.
Based on that first experience, I ordered a second round of only quart sized for her (4 packs) and in every pack, every single vacuum bag had a 1 inch horizontal cut in it rendering them all completely unusable. The pack bag they came in was not damaged, so they were probably damaged during either production or packing. Needless to really say, she was not thrilled about opening and individually checking 4 packs of bags.
At the time of the discovery, Feb 2020, they were outside the return window (they were purchased prior to Christmas 2019). Thankfully, Amazon was willing to refund my order based on the circumstances. Considering the second order was a complete loss, it's tough to trust that future orders will be issue free and the idea of opening every pack immediately to check (to stay inside the return window if there are problems) is extremely frustrating.

This is my favorite size for vacuum bags and these bags work great. But they don't always seal the first time. I don't know if it's the bag or the tool that sucks the air out of them but I have to rearrange the food and make sure the bag is sealed tight several times before the air is sucked out of them.
