Answer: I've been using this for multiple purposes from sealing processed food to packaging items. It has been a month+ since I've begun to use it and it seems to be holding up and working flawlessly. I'm a first time user myself so I was personally a bit uneasy to be working with such a new product. It comes with easy step by step instructions easy enough to read and understand for anyone.

Thank God the return on this was an easy one. Thank you Amazon. I returned it the day after I received it and tried to use it. After several failed attempts....I returned it. I ordered the Nesco food sealer, which I had in the past and used for many many things in a 4 year period. The product is cheaply made....and does not work! Do not order this. Terrible. Order the Nesco sealer or some other well known brand.

I have a problem with this device and that is although it sucked the air out of the bag and sealed it it didn't last very long. I put the sealed bags in the fridge and didn't look at them for about a week but each bag had regained the air that had been sucked out. I don't know if it was something I did or didn't do but I assumed it was sealed correctly. It did the job but it didn't last. I haven't tried it again so I am not sure at this point whether it was me or the machine. Trial and error will tell.

1. When the unit arrived the long rubber seal was detached from its proper place.
2. Just anchor it back into the lid where it came from.
3. Make sure it is firmly seated.

Helpful Tip:
4. Make sure the edge of the bag is in the vacuum area.
If after pressing the vacuum and seal button there is no vacuum action PRESS STOP.
5. Make sure the bag is flat all across the edge and is INTO the vacuum-sealing area.
Try again.
This unit works well. The instructions may not be clear but it is intuitive. (You can figure it out.)
I am using this for storing food for the long term and it is doing exactly what I need. The price is really good.
