Answer: They are boilable. I boiled the peppers sealed in these food saver bags rolls, and after 15 minutes, one of the bags melted and the peppers soaked into the water . Don’t heat the bag in boiling water for a long time

Answer: Sporadically. I have had many just not work and several that did. I’ve used off brands before with my food saver and have never had a problem. This is the first that I’ve had to throw several away. They sealed but failed to vacuum. It’s not been consistent either way.

Answer: They seem to be mostly impermeable. They are vacuum-sealed. I imagine possibly if If it’s immersed in water long enough they might become permeable. But I doubt it. Not sure I'd use them for sous vide.

Answer: It will smell like burning plastic after sealing. That is because the machine melts the two sides of the bag together to seal it. The smell should go away after it cools. Hope this helps.

One down side the it’s only one side vacuum (the other side is flat), so it takes a little bit more work (basically a bit longer) to take out all the air. I'm so aggravated, purchase the set of 2 size for $35 about 6 weeks ago and today after big haul of meat shopping NO EVEN ONE OF THE BAGS I TRY WORK. I tough it was my machine and change the Teflon and the foam sealer , nothing . after 2 hours trying to make it work i decided to open a spare roll and some of the smaller size bag and they work without a problem they do work. I suggest everyone to test your bags cause that can happen to anyone . Pretty sure i wont buy these brand anymore.

There are 2sizes here. I use it to preserve meat that needs to be salted. Occasionally there are baking materials that you don't know when you're going to need them again, like dough and chocolate. However, it is recommended to use with vacuum machine or sealing machine. Otherwise, it's just like a regular bag. Keeping it in the fridge can extend its shelf life, but I haven't tried it in the microwave, I'm still afraid it

However, the value is so good compared to the name brands, I don’t mind a snag now and then when I’m dealing things.
