Questions about FoodSaver 1-Quart Precut Vacuum Seal Bags with BPA-Free Multilayer Construction for Food Preservation, 44 Count & 11" x 16' Vacuum Seal Roll | Make Custom-Sized BPA-Free Vacuum Sealer Bags | 3-Pack
Q:
What is the width and hieght?
Answer: The height of the bag is 11.5", but the end is sealed so you need to keep that in mind. The bag is 7.5 ". I freeze boneless chicken breast and a good size meal fits in the bag.
Answer: Opening is 8" at top, and 11 1/2" length. My MOST used size. Hope this helps.
Answer: Approximately 8" wide and 11.5" high
Q:
What thickness (.mil) are these bags?
Answer: I purchased quart size bags. The box reads "Quart Size (950 ml). It doesn't show anywhere on the box the thickness of the bag unless that is the (950 ml).
Answer: These bags are 3mils thick on the smooth side and 11.5mils thick on the textured side.
Q:
what is the difference between these and the gamesaver quart bags?
Answer: There is no difference in the bags. It is just the packaging that makes them appear different.
Answer: I don't know for sure, but, I would guess that the gamesaver bags are heavier weight and perhaps available in larger sizes.
Answer: According to Foodsaver, the difference is that the Gamesaver bags are 1 mil thicker.
Answer: No difference , The FoodSaver bags gives you a better price for the quart size bags.
Q:
Is it better to order the bags or order the roll and make your own bags?
Answer: I've used it both ways with a newer and higher end model of the foodsaver vacuum machine. If I'm vacuuming something other than food I usually use the roll and make my own bag. For food I use the pre-made bags like these because as others have stated they do work better. If you are using the roll I recommend sealing the end that you're not vacuum packing several times a fraction of an inch away from the previous seal, similar to how the pre-cut bags are sealed. They hold better that way.
Answer: Individual bags are more convenient, but more expensive. If you make your own bags from the roll, you can just use the size you need.
Answer: The ready made bags are nice, but I like the rolls because I can make any size I want. I seal more
Answer: Per foot the roll would be cheaper. But having the quart size bags pre-made makes the process faster. And they are uniform in size. My vote is for the pre-made bags.
Answer: I can only answer to what we do and are very satisfied. We did buy a roll but what we like the most are the individual bags, just seems the way we use the machine it works best for us. I am sure both would work very well. J. Moore
Answer: We use both. We use the rolls for freezing and the bags for refrigerating. The bags can be washed and reused dozens of times.
Answer: We prefer the bags, but have used the rolls. We have had issues trying to get both ends to seal well when using the rolls. I would recommend the bags
Answer: Once you get good at it, making your own size bags is better because you can control costs/waste
Answer: I prefer the bags!
Q:
Are these bags pre-sealed on one end?
Answer: Yes, they are pre-sealed on one end... ready to fill.
Answer: Yes! The bags are pre-sealed on one end.
Answer: Three sides are pre-sealed.
Answer: Yes, they are. I find these pre-cut, pre-sealed on one end bags more economical that trying to cut the correct size and then finding that I messed it up. They're the perfect size for those packages of ground turkey. I freeze the packages of ground turkey in the original packaging first, then remove the frozen block from the packaging and seal it in these bags. Love 'em!
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Is this suitable for sous vide style cooking?
Answer:
Answer:
Q:
Do these bags work with non-foodsaver dealers? or are they tailored to work only with foodsaver machines?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I would imagine they would work. If you tuck the open end into the machine where it draws out air and seals, i would think a bag is a bag
Answer: Only with food saver machine.
Answer: Worked with my generic vacuum sealer
Answer: I don't know, I have never had a different kind, only foodsaver.
Answer: I think they will work with any of them.
Answer: I have a Food Saver sealer, so I can’t speak to its performance with another brand.
Q:
How come you raised your price within 5 minutes??
Answer: I have no idea. It has never happened to me.
Q:
Do these come packaged in a sealed foodsaver box or are they lose in a brown box, which means not sanitized?
Answer: They come in a sealed cardboard box as pictured. Do not know if sanitized.
Answer: They come in a sealed box. Just like the picture shows. We are very pleased with them.
Answer: Yes, this item has always come in a sealed FoodSaver box and was safe to use.
Answer: These came in a sealed foodsaver box.
Answer: The cardboard package is glued closed with a perforated opening. And the bags are loose inside.
Q:
Can these be resealed?
Answer: Yes, just cut off enough to remove contents, clean, add new contents and reseal. Caution, be sure bag is clean so you don't contaminate new product. Resealing is especially useful for cheese, take out amount you need and reseal. FoodSaver does not recommend reusing bags if they were used for meat, but if you are sure bag is clean I don't see why you couldn't reuse.
Answer: Yes but it would have to be a small quantuy you will put in it as it takes so much space to reseal. But you can wash out the bag with hot water and soap Dry completely and reuse
Answer: I don't know, but why would you want to reseal it?
Answer: Yes, just cut the previously sealed edge from the bag, leaving a new area for the sealer to work. Be sure the inside of the area to be re-sealed is clean.
Answer: They sure can! Just be sure to leave enough extra material past your contents in order to vacuum seal.
Q:
are they making Food Saver bags anymore?
Answer: Have had no problems and recently ordered the bags.
Q:
can the bags be dropped in boiling water to heat food ?
Answer: You can heat cooked foods, such as leftovers, in a FoodSaver bag in a simmering pot. Only place bags with frozen food inside the simmering water. The coldness of the food will keep the bag from becoming too hot while the food is heating up. Temperatures above 170 degrees F can possibly compromise the integrity of the bags depending on how the bags were stored, handled, or used after purchase. This is why we recommend the consumers do not use temperatures over 170 degrees F.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Will these bags work with my small food saver fresh saver that sits on my counter?
Answer: if it is a food saver then yes it should.
Answer: yes. i have a small one also that i pull out and put on my counter whenever i need it.
Q:
Do the food saver bags work with the hand held vacuum sealer
Answer: Not sure what type of hand held vacuum sealer you have but I would say no. The bag does not have any type of a ziplock seal. It has to be sealed by heat.
Answer: Thank you for asking! Heat seal bags/rolls require a full size FoodSaver that heat seals. FoodSaver brand zipper bags are perfect for the handheld, however.
Q:
Where can I buy the Geryon canister bowl?
Q:
Help. I've had terrible luck getting the bags to stay sealed. They look sealed, and then a day or week later, there's air and no vacumn in the bag.
Answer: I really had to practice on this food saver before I got the hang of it. My daughter gave to to me as a gift about six years ago. I have not had any problems with air leaking from the bag once it is properly sealed. Before the bags are properly sealed, the machine makes a special noise (like a pressurized sound) when the bag is being sealed. You have to make sure that you have enough room when you place the bag on the machine to properly seal. There you you tube videos that can be viewed to show one how to vacumn seal.
Answer: I haven't had any problem with my bags staying sealed. If there is liquid in the bag, partially freeze it first so no liquid gets in the seal. make sure the machine locks before using machine
Answer: Maybe your Food Saver is not sealing them good to start with. Are you using the Food Saver brand machine? I have never lost the vacuum in my bags and I've been doing this for several years.
Answer: I did have trouble at first. I used brand X and they really let go. Only use Food Saver bags. If there are food particiles along the seal line you need to wipe them out and make them clean as possible. Also check the seal before you think its finished.
Answer: I'd check the directions again. If you are following them as stated, you might have a bad batch of bags.
Answer: What are you sealing, I sometimes have to stop the seal and vacuum twice.but have never lost a seal.
Answer: For customer assistance please contact us at www.foodsaver.com/contactus.
Q:

Q:
Will the Food Saver Bags work with a Deni Supreme Vacuum Sealer?
Answer: Hi Robert, I'm not familiar with that brand, but I Googled the Deni Supreme sealer and read some reviews (people tend to be honest) and found this: "The Deni bags work great (so do Foodsaver bags). I would recommend looking at Weston bags and bag rolls for sealing (they are about half the price) and work very well with this machine." So, bottom line, yes, the FoodSaver bags do work and we both learned about the Weston line of food sealing bags .... which I am about to check out because I'm almost out of my other bags. I hope this helped!
Answer: These bags work with the Heat Seal Food saver . There is no mention of any other sealing appliances
Answer: I'm not sure. The Foodsaver I have is the first one I've ever purchased.
Q:
can you put boiling water into bags ? to heat a freeze-dried camp/backpacking meal ?
Answer: Dear Lesli, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver Consumer Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our products. It's not recommended to pour boiling water into the bags. If you wish to defrost the preserved food we recommend putting the bag into the lukewarm water.
Answer: I think you mean can you put the bag in boiling water and supposedly you can ! I have never done it though! Google your machine and see what it says.
Answer: I wouldn't put boiling water into the bags themselves. Boil water & drop the bags in
Answer: i would say yes. I have placed frozen sealed bags in the crock pot and heated them.
Q:
Can you use the bags for boiling?
Answer: I have not used these bags in boiling water.
Answer: According to the advertisements for the Food Saver vacuum systems the bags can be used for boiling. I have never tried, only use them for food storage.
Answer: I've never used the bags for boiling, but they are supposed to be able to be used that way - you just have to make sure you have a good, tight seal.
Answer: I don't actually boil mine but do let them simmer when filled with chili or pot roast etc. I had only one fail in the last 15 years. Not too shabby. I thaw the product the night before in the fridge , then put the bay in cold water on the stove top and bring it to a simmer.
Answer: My husband has never used it in hot water. I looked at the FoodSaver Pre-Cut bag box. There is a statement on it that says "Safe for microwave, freezer, refrigerator and simmering." So I guess you can simmer. Go to www.foodsaver.com with your question.
Answer: It says safe for simmering but does not say safe for a hard rolling boil.
Answer: Sorry, we have never tried boiling.

Answer: I didn't advertise this item. I purchased this and my box arrived in a food saver box like I saw in the picture.
Answer: I don't know. They do the job. It is better to just buy them here....comes out to the same price. They are getting harder to find.
Q:
The product. Dimension is: 8" x 11" pre-cut. Does one need an 11" food saver to seal them or can they be sealed with an 8" machine?
Answer: The open end of the bag is the 8" side. I have the very basic black food saver machine and they work fine. I hope this helps.
Answer: Yes. The bags are 8" wide and 11 long with the sealing side along the 8" side.
Answer: If the sealing area is 8 Inches it will seal the bag.
Answer: The sealing area measures about 7 inches across, so you should be OK. My sealer measures almost 9 inches across and the bags fit well within the area.
Answer: I really don't know the answer to that question. My food saver is 11". Sorry.
Answer: Never tried with 8" so unable to answer.
Q:
Can I use these bags as they are or do I have to mave modell machine?
Answer: There is no closure on the bag without a machine, but they should work with any food sealing machine as I have used other brands with my FoodSaver.
Answer: to be honest i'm not sure what you mean but you can use the bags as they are or if you find it to long you can cut the bag in a half and seal where you cut so you can have 2 bag for small things.
Answer: Sorry I don't understand your question.
Q:
How many bags are in 5 units??
Answer: what ever it says on the box
Q:
can food saver bags be re used
Answer: Absolutely. I only use for vegetables. Immediately after opening I tripple rinse in scalding hot water, dry and then store. When ready to use again I wash in dish washer soap and then tripple rinse in hot water. This year I have 52 quarts of corn kernals and 42 quarts of green beans. I will use the smaller used bags for a variety of peppers and items that I only need sandwich and snack size bags. I have been doing this for 10 years. The dish washer soap is all you use to clean the plates you eat on every day.
Answer: Although the box (and Foodsaver maker) recommend that you don't re-use them, I have re-used mine until they can't be used anymore. They need to be cleaned really well, and I usually wrap whatever I am placing in the re-used bags in plastic wrap first to help prevent contamination. Of course when your cut them to open, they become smaller and smaller, and can only be re-used about 2 times.
Answer: You know, I've never tired to reuse them, but if they were washed out thoroughly, they probably could be. However the size of the bag that was already used would be smaller the next time, because of the space it takes to seal it.
Answer: My brother owns a food saver machine, also. He has re-used the bags, but you really need to wash them thoroughly. All you have to do is make sure that your food that you are storing fits in the bag. I haven't done this yet, but my brother would not give me bad advice. Hope this helps.
Answer: Not for most foods. Possibly for dry foods such as pasta; however the bag would need to be cut and then would be smaller.
Answer: I suppose one could do that. However, I would be suspicious of not being able to make sure they are sterile even if one washed them after use. Also one needs to cut them open, and the bag would be shorter the next time it was used.
Answer: I suppose they could be reused for some things. I would think about any bacteria, etc that could survive in the nooks and crannies. They seem too tough to just toss.
Q:
How many bags are in 5 units?
Answer: what ever it says on the box
Q:
From the looks of it these bags would be good for single chicken breast halves, what bags would be reccomended for 3-4 chicken breast halves?
Answer: We do offer gallon sized bags as well. They would be more suitable for 3 to 4 chicken breast halves being saved in the same bag.
Answer: Yes they will work for single breast.Iwould get the gallon size for the 3-4.
Answer: You should be able to get 3 breasts in this bag as I got 3 leg quarters in mine.
Answer: I package them in pairs...I think, no problem with 3...four? Probably, I'm not sure!!! These bags are a very generous quart. I love them. I just purchased two boxes of 44 bags each...
Answer: You could go with the 8 inch rolls and use the amount needed.
Q:
These bags are listed as 44 quart bags pdp. what is pdp?
Q:
what kind of plastic do these bags use
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: I buy the food saver bags that are precut to my needs.
Answer: I do not kniw white kind of plastic. However, we have been used them several types but we have not had any problems.
Answer: There is a specific model# that goes with this brand. I cannot remember the # but it's listed on the box and instructions.
Answer: Polyethylene... and they are advertised to be "BPA free"...
Q:
Do these bags use vacuum to seal, and are they reusable?
Answer: These bags are designed to be vacuumed and heat sealed. FoodSaver bags are reusable, but it depends on the previous contents of the bag. Bags that previously contained fruits, vegetables, breads and dry goods can be washed and reused. Bags that contained raw meats, fish, eggs or un-pasteurized cheese should be discarded after use because they may contain invisible bacteria that will remain after washing. Bags that contained greasy or oily foods should also be discarded, as they may be difficult to clean. FoodSaver Bags can be washed by hand. Dry completely. They can then be re-vacuumed.
Answer: Yes, vacuum to seal. I haven't reused them. They seem pretty tough. Washing and drying would take time depending on what was in them previously. Sanitation is key and at your discretion. I'm pretty sure the bag can handle another round.
Answer: Yes we use them to seal. Only reusable if you cutoff what you sealed first and then reseal. would be a smaller sized bag then. we have not done that but I think it is possible.
Answer: Yes they have to be vacuumed and are not reusable
Q:
Does anybody know how much fish fillet can I store in one bag of these? Thanks!
Answer: It depends on the size of the fish. The FoodSaver Quart bags measure approximately 8"x11". Hope this helps!
Answer: Depends on size of the filet. But, probably 3 or 4, 4 ounce filets.
Q:
Why is the price of 88 bags more than 4 times the price of 44? Am I missing something?
Answer: FoodSaver only manufactures a 44 count of quart sized bags.
Q:
Can these bags be used with the hand held FreshSaver?
Answer: The FreshSaver Handheld is designed for use exclusively with the FoodSaver Vacuum Zipper Bags, and FoodSaver Containers. To use these bags, you will need to use a full-size heat seal FoodSaver Vacuum Sealing System. You can find the quart-sized Vacuum Zipper Bags here: http://www.amazon.com/Foodsaver-Freshsaver-Quart-Vacuum-Zipper/dp/B00OUJ4WZ6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1459976828&sr=8-3&keywords=FoodSaver+Quart+Zipper+Bags
Q:
what is FFP packaging vs regular packaging
Answer: Here's a link from Amazon's website explaining Frustration Free Packaging:https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200285450. Hope this helps
Q:
what are the dimensions for a gallon food saver bag
Q:
Anyone ever use these Foodsaver bags with a Ziploc vac sealer? NOT the pump...I actually have a Ziploc heat sealer..
Answer: Our FoodSaver Bags and Rolls are designed for FoodSaver units only. The sealing bar on your unit may either be too hot, which will melt the bags, or too cool, which will result in a bag that is not sealed properly. We would advise checking with the manufacturer of your sealer for more information on compatibility.
Answer: Never heard of Ziploc heat sealer. You can try it, may work.
Q:
venden sólo las bolsas
Q:
Do the bags have BPA or BPH in them thanks
Answer: None of our FoodSaver branded bags, rolls or canisters contains Bisphenol A.
Answer: The bags are BPA free.
Answer: These bags are BPA free, but I don't know if they are also BPH free.
Answer: There is a big gold seal on the box that says BPA-Free.
Answer: The box says they are BPH free. I have used them for years.
Q:
are these replacement bags or are they actually made by food saver
Answer: These are made by food saver. They are precut bags sealed on one end for use with the FoodSaver Sealer.
Answer: They are Food Saver bags, just like the ones that came with my unit.
Answer: as far as I can tell they are by Food Saver...they are nice heavy duty bags and work well with our unit.
Answer: Yes, they are made by Food Saver. I've used a number of them and they work just fine.

Deborah M. Bickford : Return product
I am returning this product because the box was in terrible shape when I received it. Not sure if product is damaged as I did not open it.
TLMKC : Great Bags
I got a 40 bag set, in a bulk item box on sale at the Wholesale Club. I actually used the 40 bags and still have the rolls left over. Needed more. These bags are perfect, especially for two people. If you buy food in bulk you can quickly get them portioned down. Fast to use also, gets all the air out. I have tried non OEM bags before and regretted it. Love the Food Saver Brand.
Jessica : Save Money!
I bought these bags to use with the food saver i have gotten that day, i wont lie to you i was very doubtful of the bags AND the foodsaver. but now i wish i had bought these items sooner. It has saved me lots of money since i buy food items in bulk (they are cheaper that way) and freezing the rest. I haven't needed to go to the meat market for months! I also use it to freeze vegetables, this is perfect! Im so in love with foodsaver products and the money they have saved me.

Allyoop 123 : A satisfied satisfied customer
I always purchase these food saver bags they’re strong they are reliable and I have the machine to go with it I’m a satisfied customer
Eric F. : The most versatile size
I got a FoodSaver last year during the harvest season, and it has been a wonderful investment. Quart sized bags are my go-to size for my vacuum sealer for most of my sorting. It's the perfect size for a couple chicken breasts, or a pound of ground beef. If you have a FoodSaver, stock up on these!
A. CoCo : Excellent size bags for the sealer machine
I purchased the sealer machine a few years ago and use it quite a bit. I find these bags a great size. They came quickly, as described and well packaged. Nice to know I can get them delivered too!
GrannyLu : Original Food Saver Bags
Works just as they should. I will definitely buy these again and stay away from the generic
D. Waggoner : Works well in my Seal A Meal
Perfect size for freezing up peaches
Work very well in my Sesl a Meal. I will continue to use these.
MysteryLover : Easy and more convenient precut bags.
These are easier and more convenient to use for packaging than the cut to fit roll version. Saves time. I haven’t compared cost difference of these precut bags against the rolls.
Amanda : Hold up great
These are great for a variety of foods and a variety of sizes of foods. Easy to use and has shown they’re of great quality. Ordered and used for 2 months now.
Jackie Larocque : This order was defective, and did not arrive in original Food Saver box!
I am furious, this order of Food Saver did not arrive in the original Food Saver box, and when I went to use them they were defective!!!!! I lost meat that needed to be frozen because of this which I didn't need to happen with the Coronavirus going on in this country!!
carolyn : Worth every penny!!
No dislikes. It's all good!
Amazon Customer : Perfect for food saver
This item is perfect for use with food saver.
Launa McNeilly : Solid bags and easy to use.
Great for freezing food. Preserves freshness for all types of food. Love them!
Amazon Customer : THESE ARE GREAT
I Complained when received because of not coming in manufactures box but plain plastic - probably foreign made China or something. But have to admit they work great and no complaints at all.
Pamela Ray : Convenient
I like that these bags come in many sizes.
I use these a lot, as they simply vacuum sealing. Additionally they are very durable.
WV Jets Fan : Value
Had to throw the first 6 away after I finally found out why they would not vacuum seal. They had a small manufacturing cut on one side of each of them.
Mr. Mantel : Great bags, wrong labeling - Size Matters!
These are fantastic if you buy meats in bulk! However, I was a little disappointed to find these are 8” x 10”; not 8x11 the picture shows. Amazon resent another box for the error, but it too was the smaller size. The extra inch makes a difference with 2 pounds of ground beef or large steaks.
Amazon Customer : Perfect for food saver
This item is perfect for use with food saver.
