Answer: This is the ONLY pellet I use for brisket with a smoke tube. Very happy with the results. Not to over powering in flavor.

Answer: They have 100% mesquite and a mesquite blend, but don’t have a mix with charcoal or a 100% charcoal pellet.

Answer: I don’t think they have a mesquite charcoal combo. I have been very happy with the Hickory Charcoal blend (my opinion it creates a lot more ashes) but a great product! I have used many different Lumber Jack pellet products, and have never been disappointed! (I’m putting an 18 pound brisket on the pellet smoker overnight using pecan for a birthday party tomorrow!)

can I use these pellets in a smoker box in a gas grill?

Answer: I had good success with them in a smoker tube, lit one end with a torch and they made a nice smoke. I’ve used them this way several times and very pleased. Once they got soldering good they burned nice and slow for around 4 hours in my smoke tube.

Answer: It's an error. Report it and they will fix it.

What is the blend in the mesquite blend?

Answer: 40% Mesquite/60% Red Oak

Answer: Not sure, but for my green Mountain Daniel Boone, I stay away from mesquite to smoke, because of the strong flavor. I use the lumber jack 100% mesquite to sear. It gives me much more control with flavor.

Why are questions for outdoor barbecue pellents under an anti-barking device? Who is putting these up?

Was there a flavor difference from pellets without charcoal? I usually use Traeger pellets and I can't tell a real difference in the pellet choices.

Answer: Lumberjack pellets are a much better quality than Traeger. The Char Hickory is great to blend with other flavors ie Oak for beef, Cheery for pork

Answer: I can tell the difference between LJ and Traeger pellets. The charcoal pellets add a little deeper smoke flavor.

Answer: There is a difference, they are good for dogs and burgers, even bbq chicken. BTW, Traeger pellets do all taste very similar, they are not the best choice. I have tried 6 different brands and there is a difference.

Answer: I usually blend my pellets with Smoke Daddy Charcoal Pellets and was delighted to purchase Lumber Jack Hickory with Charcoal already blended in...The purpose of using Charcoal is to extend to length of time the pellets last before needing to be replenished. The taste seems to be unaltered. I generally use Hickory, Maple, Applewood, Cherry and my favorite Mesquite pellets and blend all of them with Smoke Daddy Charcoal...Ed Outland

The reviews on amazon are for pellet grill "barkless" as in tree bark pellets, not a "stop barking device. please fix on amazon!

can I use this pellets instead of wood chips?

Answer: It depends on what you're using them in. If you want to add smoke to a propane or charcoal, you would probably want a Smokin Wedgie or other pellet smoke device.

I have a six pound chihuahua and this doesn’t bother her at all. Even on high, she just keeps on baking. I’m amazed at how many people say this works because it doesn’t on my dog. Don’t waste your money.

I’ve had my camp chef DLX for about a year and and have tried a lot of pellets then a co worker told me about lumberjack pellets so I gave it a shot and my smoker has never kept temp so good and gave such amazing smoke flavor to what I was cooking got to try them the charcoal hickory are amazing on chicken and beef .

When this little gadget arrived I was a bit confused by the size as it looks much larger online. We have three very talkative furkids. I installed the battery and waited.. Starting out on the lowest setting, the moment they barked, the device beeped and activated ultimately quieting the littles. All three girls don't seem to have any adverse reactions of pain or fear albeit confused is their new common when the device activates. Tiny, well ranged, easy to use and a great value.

The Lumberjacks have gone down hill lately. I have used them exclusively for a couple of years but the past 2 bags I have had trouble with. One bag had Pellets that were way to long and I had to go thank break them by hand. The other bag had ALOT of dust and the Pellets were smashed up.

Was hoping for much more of a charcoal flavor like if you were doing a steak with Kingsford charcoal’s since I have a wood pellet grill I have been missing the flavor of a true charcoal flavor was hoping these pellets would have more of a charcoal taste unfortunately they don’t they burn fine there’s nothing really wrong with them I was just hoping for more of a char flavor

I purchased these pellets because I have been trying different pellets for added flavor and I know when I used to use charcoal I got good flavor, plus these had hickory. The reviews were good so I purchased them. I received them, opened the back and the first thing I noticed was that they were just has long but the pellets are a lot thinner then all of the other pellets I have purchased. With the pitboss the one thing that I read in the reviews is that you want to sift all the small pieces of pellets out because these small pieces can clog the auger. So, I did that. With all other pellets I have purchased, in all about 120 pounds, at the bottom of the bucket, i maybe get a half a pound or less of really small pieces. This bag, I lost 5-7 pounds of pellets.

Smoke-I literally got no smoke from these pellets. With all the other pellets I have purchased, I gotten a tone of smoke.

Flavor-Well, no smoke means no flavor. None what so ever.

With a 20 pound bag a of pellets should last me about 30 hours, I smoked yesterday for 9 hours, of course this wasn’t a full bad because I lost alot due to size of the pellets but I use most of my pellets.

I bought these because my wife was complaining about missing the flavor you get from a charcoal grill. So I tried a 20lb back of the charcoal/hickory blend and it really did give that distinctive charcoal flavor to the burgers and dogs. Seems to burn hotter too, so watch your temps. I'll be keeping a bag of these at all times. I'm not sure how well these will do for smoking though. That flavor might be a bit strong for long smokes.
