Air can be removed from the bag within seconds. I have tried some larger bags I get from Costco with this machine. Also works perfectly. It's much easier to prepare baby food now. Highly recommended!

The GKCITY VACUUM SEALER MACHINE has so far proven to be a useful and effective vacuum sealer for freezing food. My only issue at this point is that the instructions provided are somewhat useless.
WHAT YOU GET
This vacuum sealer is ~14” long, ~3 ¼ ” wide and 2 ¼” tall. In addition to the machine, you will get a power cord, 10 sealing bags (5 medium and 5 small) and a microscopically printed instruction pamphlet. The machine has 2 buttons (vacuum and seal and seal
HOW IT WORKS
Right off the bat, I knew the instruction manual would cause problems as it is basically a tri-fold 3” pamphlet that provides instructions in numerous languages. I had a difficult time finding the English instructions let alone being able to read the instructions themselves. Fortunately, the machine is so simply designed, I could figure out how to operate it by trial-and-error (even the drawings are tiny). I understand minimalization, but this is ridiculous … especially for a device that requires plugging into a wall outlet.
Fortunately, this sealer is simply designed and it only took a few minutes to discover how to operate it properly. Once plugged in, you fill the contents into the sealing bag and lay the end on the open sealer. Simply press both ends of the sealer until you hear it snap into place and press the vacuum and seal button. The entire process only takes a minute and once the operation is done, the machine beeps, a light turns red and you press two buttons on each end to open the machine up and remove your vacuum sealed bag. It is that easy. Due to the instructions being so tiny, it took a couple of attempts where the machine was trying to seal, but nothing happened … I realized the bag need to be flipped as one side of the sealing bags is specifically designed for the vacuuming and it must be positioned right for the machine to work.
The bags provided are nice, but there are only 10 and you will need to purchase sealable bags separately. Another note is that the bags provided are individual bags with one open end. Most likely, any bags you buy separately will come in rolls where you must cut the length of the bag size you wish to use. This explains the need for the “seal” button as you will need to seal one end of an open-ended bag and then vacuum seal the other end. I have yet to see how effective sealing one end and vacuum sealing the other end of a bag works.
I vacuum-sealed a bunch of blueberries for the winter and liked the machine’s ability to shrink-wrap the bags without bursting the berries.

C. Davis : Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt...not very happy with it.
The vacuum/seal button doesn't always work. It starts vacuuming and doesn't go into seal mode. I have to stop it several times, start over and then it works correctly.
