Nana : The bags are good sizes

What did not like about the Bags Set is the
Pump that comes with the set. I don’t use it
Instead I use Debbie Meyer GeniusVas Bags.

A. Dauria : Works perfectly for sous vide

This set is a nice assortment of sizes. It also comes with 4 sealing tools and 4 clips. The bags themselves seem to be well made and are of good quality.

At first I had a hard time (RTFM!) sealing the bags. I finally read the manual and discovered how to use the sealing tools. It takes a few seconds to figure it out, but once you get it going they seal up really well.

Another trick is that the pump doesn't work too well if you put a lot of pressure on the bag with the pump when it is on a hard surface. Once I let up a bit on the pressure, it works like a charm.

I used 2 of the medium bags for steaks last night. The vacuum seal worked very well. I used the clips to keep the bags in place in the pot while I sous vide cooked them. It worked perfectly.

I turned the bags inside out and cleaned them with dishwashing soap in the sink (you are not supposed to put them in a dishwasher). They cleaned and rinsed easily. I turned them inside out to dry, and they now are good to go again for another cook, or for storing something.

This is a good product for preserving food or sous vide cooking.

Grimmy : Great set

This is a great set to vacuum pack food or any other stuff that you want to vacuum pack. It comes with a nice assortment of bags and a manual pump. Like other sets of this type, you may need a bit of practice to use the pump around the valve on each bag and just the right position to get the air out. Other than that, this is a good start for vacuum packing food.

Full disclosure; I'm probably not going to use these for Sous Vide very much.
I prepare and dehydrate almost all of my own backpacking meals. This is accomplished by pouring boiling water into a bag containing dehydrated food.
I have been looking for a way to reduce the amount of disposable plastic I use in general and especially on the trail.
Up to now I have been using heat sealed vacuum bags or heavy duty freezer bags, but those only last so long.
I probably should have read the product description a little better as most of the bags included in this kit are WAY too big for my uses. I didn't knock any stars off for that though as it was my bad.
The bags themselves are very high quality and seem to hold their vacuum seal quite well.
I have a rechargeable vacuum pump that I use with disposable bags, and it works great with these!
When I go through the small bags provided with this kit, (they say you can get up to 10 uses per bag), I will seek out replacements from this brand.
Who knows, with the ones to big for backpacking, I may just try my hand at Sous Vide...

A. Nuran : Worked for a little while

I really like the idea. Re-usable bags to reduce the plastic waste stream. A compact manual pump.

They worked fine the first few times, and then they stopped working after just a few times through the cycle. First the valves in the bags began to fail. It got harder to evacuate the air. On others water leaked in during the cooking cycle through the valve or through the ziploc-style seal.

The bags are also difficult to completely clean. You have to turn them inside out, and even then the corners collect food residue.

It's a great concept, but the execution needs to be better.
