What "marine grade weather resistant materials" are actually used to make these?

Answer: Appears to be nylon. Well made, thick/wide material. I think it will last at least several years holding shoes and "smalls" off the deck inside the center console of my boat. I would buy from this company again.

Answer: I believe these are nylon or some other super strong synthetic material. I have had these on my boat for over two years and they are still working great even after being subjected to the sun and elements. I would definitely recommend these!

Can the smaller "hook N loop" sizes be made for "bolt on" applications like the bungie version that has grommets?

I am another person who needs the scratchy side of the velcro on the product. Anyone know a product like this?

How wide do they expand open?

Answer: Not very much if mounted. The opening is at most an inch or two when mounted in a flat surface.

Can these be attached to the sides of the Titan 13.5 seat like I did on my hobie pa14?

Answer: That’s a very specific question. But I know they do attach with a Velcro sticky backing

Can this be installed on carpet? My boat has carpet and I'm not sure if I'd have to drill or if it'll stick somehow.

Answer: I would say no, it uses Velcro and the carpet wouldn't be strong enough.

Answer: Its a velcro loop. Best used under a t-top.

E_K : Hook and Loop is really just Velcro - who knew?

The product works great, but the hook and loop classification is confusing as heck. It's Velcro folks. The scratchy side of the velcro has adhesive tape that you stick to the gelcoat surface of your boat, and the softer side of the velcro is attached to the tackle web. The rough side is called the hook. Its softer mate is called loop. The hooks engage into the loop and provide the closure mechanism. The product was a perfect application for my boat and added some much needed storage at the helm.

These might be the best things ever made for boats. The adhesive sticks hard and the assorted sizes make placing them every where easy. You don't realize how much storage your boat has until you start using these. Such a great idea and product.

I bought this “used” & since it’s my second one, how bad can it be? The issue was the previous owner used the Velcro then took it off & covered it with wax paper assuming that would
protect the adhesive. Nope. I used Velcro I had in my workshop so no big deal.

Installed these in my center console boat head/storage area to hold shoes (keep them where I can find them quickly and off the deck). The size of the bag and the included Velcro is large/heavy enough to hold 4 pair of shoes.

Needed something to hold small items inside our boat's center console and not wanting to put up hard storage that would hurt if bumped into. These come in a variety of sizes and worked perfectly.

Put four of these on my Aluminum boat. Loved the concept and the ability to only take a few tackle containers. Went to check on the boat less than a week after putting them on and ALL of them had fallen off. Tried to re-apply but they would not stick. So much for the 3M adhesive.
