Product reviews of PLUSINNO Floating Fishing Net, Rubber Coated Fish Landing Net - Easy Catch and Release, Foldable Telescopic Fishing Net for Freshwater or Saltwater
Scott Wells : Nice landing net...and it floats, too!
A few months ago I was doing some inshore fishing from my solo catamaran and, after netting a quite large fish and extracting it with grippers, the net tipped over the side and went straight to the bottom of the bay. I bought this Plusinno net as a replacement in part because I've had a great experience with other Plusinno products and of course in part because it floats.
Last week I took this net along for several inshore trips and it worked wonderfully. The bite wasn't nearly as good as it was mid-summer, but I did manage to land some okay fish. For scale, both fish shown in the included pics are in the 15-17" range, so I don't think there'd be any issue using it to land significantly larger fish (something I hope to put to the test soon!).
Unfortunately I forgot to take a pic, but I did test the floating capabilities of the net by first tethering it (just to be sure!) and then tossing it into the water. Sure enough, it stayed right on top as advertised!
Of course, the folding and telescoping nature of the net means that it's nice and compact for transportation but quite voluminous and far-reaching when in use.
If you're looking for a nice landing net--especially for use in an environment where it would otherwise be unrecoverable if accidentally dropped--this should be on your short list for sure.
Evert : Compact and quite sturdy!
Overall it is a very nice, compact net. The rubber net has small holes so no fish will escape, and no fins will be cut. It feels quite sturdy and is pretty light weight as well. The best part is how small it folds up to, about 4 inches by 16 inches. It is also short heightwise so it will easily fit in a backpack or stowed on any boat. A really nice net for a competitive price.
A&P Johnston : Folds up nice and small
Light, small, and affordable enough to leave in your vehicle or boat and forget about it until you need it. Heavy duty enough to land a large fish and hold up well over time.
Christian Gugliemo : Great Net
Love this net! The material used is sturdy and i haven't had any problems with it. I thought it was a great idea to add the float tubes onto it because i don't have to worry about the pole sinking at all. Very well made for the price offered, will buy again if i ever lose or break mine!

Christopher M. Sharp : Quality of product is superb for the price!
This is an absolute great product for the price, very well made and you can tell attention to detail was spent during the production of this item. The net is made of a nice plastic material which is somewhat sticky, so it should have a bit better "traction" when a fish is in the net. What is great is this can also be used to catch butterflies and other creepy crawly things, which my daughter and wife like to do.
If I had one con, it would be that part of the net is held into place by a rather small zip tie...I am not docking any stars off for this since this can easily be replaced with a larger zip tie or even a thick piece of rope. I wouldn't let this stop you from purchasing the item.
Tiffany : Very well built!!
This net is amazing, it stows away for easy transport and is very well built. It is perfect for everything from walking a creek to boat. It opens and closes with ease.
Colt Reece : Nearly Perfect
What a great net! In reviewing the new Blue Floating Fishing Net, I would summarize that Plussino took an already amazing, quality, durable fishing net, and step it up another notch. From a company that is currently making its way into the fishing community, it is great to know that they are willing to listen to its customers and making the necessary changes to their products. With the combined efforts equals quality products. The new Blue Floating Fishing Net combines the already study handle build with a mixture of carbon fiber and fiber glass with a now floating net head. The net has a very similar look to the current model, but now two float tubes added to two of the three triangular sides. With the added floats, there is no need to worry about the net sinking or getting dropped of your kayak. The net itself is made from a nice snagless material that is very fish friendly. From tip to toe the whole net compresses to fit conveniently in your boat, kayak, car, or anywhere else compact. Overall this is a well product. From company to consumer, Plussino has listened and made a top quality product for any fishermen needing a fish net. Now with all the positivity and praise that I finished giving on this net, time for the one flaw in the near perfect net. I would say the one flaw is in the screw shaft extender on the shaft itself. It is located just underneath the belt clip and due to this, it makes it very difficult to tighten or loosen. Beings I really like this net, there is a way around this problem. My plan is to unscrew the two screws that hold the belt clip in place. Once that is removed, I will be able to extend and reduce the length of the shaft much easier. Again, this is a very well made product and allows for pulling in this fish off the bank, canoe, kayak, or anywhere else that a net is needed.

desmobob : It seemed it might be too inexpensive to be any good, but it's really good!
I bought this net to use while float tube fly fishing. I wanted something compact and with a little bit longer reach than a normal "trout net." It stows away nicely and opens with one hand. I've used it to net fish up to six pounds so far with no trouble. I will very likely buy the larger/longer one as well.
As with any lightweight net, don't lift heavy fish while holding the net out at 90˚. Keep the net bag and fish submerged while you unhook the fish or, if you have to lift them out of the water, do it with the net vertical and the fish hanging down toward the water.
Ron : A great floating net!!!!!!
This net is just perfect. Both me and my girlfriend dropped it off the boat, thankfully it floated or it would be on the bottom of the lake. Had no trouble with fish of any size. I love this net.
FO. : Must have for canoe/ kayak fishing!!
I was super impressed by the design and portability of the net. It can be easily strapped or placed in a bag. Best of all it floats so you have a better chance of retrieving it if it get loose.
Northern Snow Shopper : It's well worth it
I'll keep this short. It has a great reach, it's light, sturdy, made with good material, and I don't expect that this thing will fall apart on me any time soon. The only design flaw that I see is that the bottom of the handle doesn't allow you to attach a rope/clip/550 cord, etc. This simple adjustment will ensure that this doesn't accidentally get away from you, so I hope they make this improvement for future customers. Besides that well worth the buy!
David Walton : Great Net!
I like the size of the net relative to the profile. You can also snap it open by whipping it from the handle. The fact it floats is also a plus.
Tom : Sturdy and Compact Fishing Net
There are several things that I like about this fishing net. When folded, it is only 16 inches long, 4 inches wide, and under 2 inches thick, so it can easily fit in my backpack. Unfolded, it becomes over 28 inches long, and the net becomes 15.5 inches wide at the end and 13 inches deep, which is big enough for most fish. The net is rubber-coated, which is friendly to the fish for the many catch-and-release ponds in my neck of the woods. The black foam rubber handle is durable, and coupled with the two blue foam rubber net guides, the whole net floats. The folding mechanism is sturdy and includes a locking latch. Overall, this is a very nice fishing net for the money.
James Schlick Outdoors : This is the net you want!
This fishing net is awesome! It folds up for easy transport and storage. It's really lightweight. And i really like how the net is rubber coated so its safer for the fish verses the older standard string nets. Another plus is the net will float if dropped in the water which i have done by accident in the past with my older net while out on my kayak fishing. So now i don't have to worry about trying to fish my net back out of the water lol. I definitely recommend if your looking for a good affordable net that gets the job done!
Paula Renee : Compact fishing net
I love this net. One of my least favorite things is bringing a net fishing, they are always bulky and in the way. This one folds up nice, floats in case you drop it in the water and is durable, will last a long time.

mikeyg : Easy one handed operation, and it floats!
This fishing net means business. This premium net has a pole made of fiberglass/carbon fibre for the handle which is easy to grip while wrangling a reasonable sized prize. The nylon material for the mesh is rubberized which means it will last for years floating in saltwater or the sun.
The net collapses down to a compact package and has an integrated belt clip. I've also found it quite easy to deploy and retract one-handed (see video).
Overall, this is an extremely durable and functional net which floats :) no more trying to save my net with a paddle as it slowly sinks...
Papa C : Nice and convenient
Great net for the truck! The net is coated and like the other nets from this company it helps with reducing hook snags in the net! Haven’t put a fish in it yet but it came in handy with helping a bird out of a construction project. The has a great quality feel to it! Already have another bigger net that is my go to. Worth getting!!
Brian Burris : Nice quality fishing for an affordable price!
Light weight, sturdy, telescoping fishing net. Has a nice design and locking mechanism, net itself is very deep and made of flexible plastic mesh like you would find on a trout net. Handle feels to be made of aluminum and has a belt clip. Haven't landed any fish big enough to warrant using the net, but would feel very confident scooping up anything up to 10 to 15 lbs with this net, maybe even larger with no problem. That the net floats is a plus as well.
Jamie Brewer : Great fishing net with rubber coated mesh.
This net looks great. I’m pleasantly surprised that the net is rubber coated so I don’t have to worry about my hooks getting caught in the fabric. Can’t wait to use this.
Michael Smith : Great little net! Recommended.
This net is surprisingly sturdy and very compact! I kayak fish a lot and have had a ton of trouble with folding nets not keeping their shape... especially when netting a fish. The net material in this one keeps its shape well, and the net itself is plenty study to land a fish. Plus, the floating part is key for me. The foam is very high density and should last for year. All and all, this appears to be a great product for a good price. I would recommend trying this one for sure.
Gymmy : Great with 2 issues
First issue: the netting doesn’t seem the most durable. I would be careful taking out hooks while the fish is in the net, if it gets snagged it might rip it
Second issue: the rubber on the net is VERY “chemically.” I would wash it well before using to save the fish better.
Tim : Sturdy and beautiful looking net!
I bought a net similar to this in the past, and let me tell you, this floating net is one of the best I've used. I love the signature carbon fiber design. It helps it stand out from the other nets on the market. I dropped this thing twice when scooping up my catch, and without the floats, this thing would've been a goner. Only downside, is I wish it also had a wrist strap. I understand thats what the floats are for, but who doesn't want a nice wrist strap as well.
rfl : Great Fishing Net
I love how this fishing net folds up, and the net has a great construction to it. This net fits right into my Plano hip-roof tackle box. I haven't caught any fish yet, so I haven't had a chance to actually use it. The one I got has a handle that telescopes out, and I love that feature. If you're going to go fishing, this net is perfect for you.
John E : Fantastic net
Used this net the past few days wading the river for walleye. Initially the belt clip was very hard to slip onto my belt. After a few outings it is breaking in and much easier to slip on and off the belt, but I still have no fear it's going to pop off inadvertently. Size is perfect wide and deep enough for a 10+lb walleye. When fighting a fish I have had no issue getting the net unfolded and locked into place one handed. It is also very easy to unlock and get folded back down. That is a huge bonus when you're fighting a fish and dealing with fast moving currents. I appreciate the fact it has a rope loop at the end of the handle. I'm sure the fact it floats will come into play when I get the boat out.
Joe Disappointed : Great design!
So easy to bring along on hike. And durable.
RoSA : Good
Like it I though it was going to be bigger but it's ok. Haven't used it and will update when I do
FO. : Must have for canoe/ kayak fishing!!
I was super impressed by the design and portability of the net. It can be easily strapped or placed in a bag. Best of all it floats so you have a better chance of retrieving it if it get loose.
JimmyK : Nice compact net that floats. Awesome for me
Collapses down to a convenient size and it’s quick/easy to collapse and open up. The compact size and a net that floats is a huge plus for me since I usually fish from a kayak, so space in limited and if I tip over, it’s nice knowing this can easily be recovered. Awesome affordable option.
Leilani810 : Great for Kayak Fishing!
This fishing net is nice, compact and lightweight. Perfect for kayak fishing. The rubber coated netting is great against snags. Would highly recommend!
Brandon : Great size net any more importantly folds small!!!
This is a sweet item! I've been wanting a folding net that i can put in a hiking bag or travel with and this is perfect. Folds up very narrow and floats so you wont loose it in the water. Net is very deep and wide when folded out. Its my new favorite piece of gear :)
Leilani810 : Great for Kayak Fishing!
This fishing net is nice, compact and lightweight. Perfect for kayak fishing. The rubber coated netting is great against snags. Would highly recommend!
Travis Bruno : Rubber coated plussinno Floating net for all fish
Great value ..the net floats and is light weight it also is rubber so its safe for the fish and lures wont get caught. god bless make sure to buy
Ryan J : Very convenient to pack, sturdy, and a great price!
I love the Plussino floating net! It folds to a convenient size for carrying to the lake or packing on a kayak. The handle has a carbon fiber appearance and seems very sturdy. The rubber coated net, foam grip and floats are well made and should hold up to many fishing trips. Overall, this is a great short handled net that is convenient to pack, and should last for quite a while. The only improvement I could suggest is to add a velcro strap to keep the net tight when collapsed. I may add one on my own.
Tyler : Awesome Kayak fishing net!
I was looking for a net for fishing from my Kayak and this one did not disappoint. I wasn't originally looking for a collapsible, but I'm glad that I got one. This new folds up to a size where I can easily store it in my dry storage or on the side of my seat--out of the way. I don't always need a net, so it's good to be able to have one that's not sticking out the back of my rod holder for my lines to get tangled on.
This net is easy to fold and extend. The actual net portion is made of some kind of rubber, which IMO is better than rope as it will not get easily tangled. The opening is big enough to land a good size sized fish. I expect no issues with the trout, redfish, & striper I catch. The net is light, and while I have not tested it, it is supposed to float which is a big bonus on the kayak.
Parker08 : Great fishing net!
This net is perfect! I was looking for a more lightweight, compact net when fishing for panfish and trout. The Clip on the handle will keep it snug on my tackle bag for easy transport.
toujon : Lightweight but NOT strong. Lose your net and fish...
The handle will - one day or another - come out without warning. The lower part of the telescopic pole seems to be glued to the rest of the net. I was fishing and put the net in the water. I was delighted to see the net fell in the water while holding the handle. I tried to put it back together but it does not stick anymore. Poor design... But hey, it deserves one star because it floats.
desmobob : It seemed it might be too inexpensive to be any good, but it's really good!

I like to fish by myself in a kayak, this net is perfect it folds up and has a belt clip so I hang it on my backpack and it literally goes anywhere with me. It’s sturdy and light so I can walk to my favorite fishing spots and not be tired by the time I get there. Will recommend this to anyone.

Jeff D. : Ease of carry & use
Easy to carry and use!
Les Wang : Folds up small
This net folds down to the smallest footprint of all the nets I have. It also is made of rubbery material so hooks don’t easily get tangled up in it. The flat bottom is good for keeping fish flat and not curled up which makes them flop around. Overall a great net if you want something that can fit in a backpack. I got the smallest size.
