Product reviews of PLUSINNO Floating Fishing Net, Rubber Coated Fish Landing Net - Easy Catch and Release, Foldable Telescopic Fishing Net for Freshwater or Saltwater
Travis Bruno : Rubber coated plussinno Floating net for all fish
Great value ..the net floats and is light weight it also is rubber so its safe for the fish and lures wont get caught. god bless make sure to buy
RoSA : Good
Like it I though it was going to be bigger but it's ok. Haven't used it and will update when I do
Whenny : Nice size fishing net!
I love this fishing net bec its folds and i can just put it under the seat and its easy to carry.. The rubber coated net is well made as well.. the handle has a good grip in it and it floats so you dont have to worry about the fishing net sinking in.. the only things is the handle is not the telescopic one and its kinda short but all in all this product is awesome and i can’t wait to go fishing and used it.
Karen M. : Portability
I use this net for trout fishing in streams and rivers. It folds up nicely and clips to my belt. I like the way the clip and handle overlap locking it on my belt. It takes a little getting used to opening up and locking the net in the open position but it's not hard. Well made and sturdy enough for most sizes of fish. I will be using it my canoe also.
Leilani810 : Great for Kayak Fishing!
This fishing net is nice, compact and lightweight. Perfect for kayak fishing. The rubber coated netting is great against snags. Would highly recommend!
Caleb M. : This is a pretty nice little net!
In all fairness I haven't actually pulled a fish in yet, hopefully this weekend at which point I'll update this.
Since I wrote a book below haha, the TL;DR version is: If you're a trout/bass or other smaller gamefish fisherman, this net should work great for you. It's not going to pull in a Salmon or a Muskie but it feels pretty sturdy and should have no problem with Trout, Bass, Crappie, anything smaller than a 30lb Lake Trout :)
So far, my very first impression when I opened the package was "Holy cow, this thing is tiny" I was worried that it was going to be too small to use for anything but it's actually just folds up pretty nicely. It's a bit smaller than my main net but I'd feel confident in using this for Bass and Trout.
It feels quite strong. The end has a beaded bungee/elastic cord holding the ends together which also allows it to collapse. It seems to hold on strong.
I'm not going to be winning a strong man competition anytime soon but I'm also not a weak person at all. The belt clip on this is so firm that I can't actually make it more more than a maybe 1/4". It will last a long time, but it will likely be difficult to use with the handle fully collapsed.
The handle also seems to be very strong. I got the one with the telescoping handle. It's not a one handed operation at all to open the net and lock the handle in place but once you've got it open it locks in place very well. I can't collapse the handle while it's locked in place which is fantastic
Holy cow, you're still reading this? For the things I didn't like:
It mentions Northerns and Muskie and I just don't think that's going to be a thing in this net. If you're looking for a keeper Muskie, it's not anywhere near big enough. Maybe some smaller Northerns, under 30", maybe even under 20 if they're angry that day. In most lakes in Minnesota anyway a keeper Muskie is 40" in the Metro area and 54" most everywhere else. This net will not do that. It should handle most trout, bass, and other game fish with no problem. It's just not going to land a 30lb Lake Trout or a 55lb Muskie :)
The inside of the net at the top of the handle the net is zip tied to the handle itself. I don't know if this is a problem but it seems like this will probably be the first point of failure for the net. If it does cause my any problems other than me thinking about it, I'll update this. It's probably fine and I don't have any ideas myself on how it could be done differently with it still being a folding net.
Tim : Sturdy and beautiful looking net!
I bought a net similar to this in the past, and let me tell you, this floating net is one of the best I've used. I love the signature carbon fiber design. It helps it stand out from the other nets on the market. I dropped this thing twice when scooping up my catch, and without the floats, this thing would've been a goner. Only downside, is I wish it also had a wrist strap. I understand thats what the floats are for, but who doesn't want a nice wrist strap as well.
TeNeka Kennedy : Great quality!
When I got my net. I was surprised by the quality of the materials. It looks and feels great. It’s easy to open and close. The netting is a rubber lined textile. I haven’t had a chance to use it at the lake to see it float. I am excited about this purchase.
Brandon : Great size net any more importantly folds small!!!
This is a sweet item! I've been wanting a folding net that i can put in a hiking bag or travel with and this is perfect. Folds up very narrow and floats so you wont loose it in the water. Net is very deep and wide when folded out. Its my new favorite piece of gear :)
Sam : Short pole
I thought that a telescoping pole world be more than 3 inches. It's pretty flimsy.
Blue1 : Nice size, & Floats
I purchased the 14' net and it's exactly as described , My only issue is I asked what the latching mechanism was made of because in my opinion this most likely will be the part to fail first depending on how many times it's used ( open & close) . The only response I received was that the latch was made out of carbon fiber...well it's not.. it is hard plastic which actually looks and feels to be pretty thick and sturdy but definitely not carbon fiber. How long it will hold up remains to be seen but as of now i"m glad I purchased this item and have already used it to pull a few large mouth up off the bank with no issue , I love the rubber coating on the net it worked exactly as I hoped it would no problems with hurting the bass and the treble hooks never snaged. It folds down nice and compact fits right in my back pack so I am very pleased . do your self a favor and get one !!
Chris : What can I say? It floats
This is exactly what you'd expect. It is a small landing net that will float is dropped in the water. It's best for kayaks, canoeing, or wading, as the handle is not super long. If you are a bank fisher, you'll need to bend/reach. I like the coating on the net to prevent hook snags and hurting fish for catch and release. The unfolding mechanism isn't too bad one-handed, but it is a bit awkward to close using one hand. The release can be stiff. Overall, if you're looking for a floating net, this is a solid choice.
JermJerm : Great net!
Space wise, when compared to other nets, this net exceeds excellence. It’s easy to fold up and store and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for my boat because my other net is round, doesn’t fold, and takes up too much space. Love the material it’s made of.
Ryan : Recommended
I ordered this fishing net after I returned another one that I purchased from another seller because of low quality material and very annoying chemical smell. This one is very well made and it's light weight but still strong and compact, and does not smell bad.
Evert : Compact and quite sturdy!
Overall it is a very nice, compact net. The rubber net has small holes so no fish will escape, and no fins will be cut. It feels quite sturdy and is pretty light weight as well. The best part is how small it folds up to, about 4 inches by 16 inches. It is also short heightwise so it will easily fit in a backpack or stowed on any boat. A really nice net for a competitive price.
toujon : Lightweight but NOT strong. Lose your net and fish...
The handle will - one day or another - come out without warning. The lower part of the telescopic pole seems to be glued to the rest of the net. I was fishing and put the net in the water. I was delighted to see the net fell in the water while holding the handle. I tried to put it back together but it does not stick anymore. Poor design... But hey, it deserves one star because it floats.
John E : Fantastic net
Used this net the past few days wading the river for walleye. Initially the belt clip was very hard to slip onto my belt. After a few outings it is breaking in and much easier to slip on and off the belt, but I still have no fear it's going to pop off inadvertently. Size is perfect wide and deep enough for a 10+lb walleye. When fighting a fish I have had no issue getting the net unfolded and locked into place one handed. It is also very easy to unlock and get folded back down. That is a huge bonus when you're fighting a fish and dealing with fast moving currents. I appreciate the fact it has a rope loop at the end of the handle. I'm sure the fact it floats will come into play when I get the boat out.
Chrissy : Light weight, durable and sturdy.
Light weight, durable and sturdy. Great fishing net!
WoodsAngler : Good net for trout and bass. Very compact.
This net is great for lake fishing for trout and bass. I mainly fish off the bank and dock so this net makes it easy to get the fish out the water. It also collapse to very small size so easy to transport. However if you going for salmon or steelhead you will need a bigger net. This net is design mainly for medium to smaller fish.
Aaron Anderson : Great net after some practice
I was originally planning on giving this 3 out of 4 stars as I had the same issue a others posted about it being difficult to open or closed due to thr separate locking mechanisms.
After some practice you can open and close this easily with one hand (see video). I wish they gave this hint as directions as no one wants to fumble opening a net when a fish is on.
Net is a little heavier than I expected but I'm guessing its due to the hard plastic. This will work great for kayak or camp fishing but would not survive being your main net. Its a little small for large pike or even normal musky but its great for what its used for.
Jamie Brewer : Great fishing net with rubber coated mesh.
This net looks great. I’m pleasantly surprised that the net is rubber coated so I don’t have to worry about my hooks getting caught in the fabric. Can’t wait to use this.
Tyler : Awesome Kayak fishing net!
I was looking for a net for fishing from my Kayak and this one did not disappoint. I wasn't originally looking for a collapsible, but I'm glad that I got one. This new folds up to a size where I can easily store it in my dry storage or on the side of my seat--out of the way. I don't always need a net, so it's good to be able to have one that's not sticking out the back of my rod holder for my lines to get tangled on.
This net is easy to fold and extend. The actual net portion is made of some kind of rubber, which IMO is better than rope as it will not get easily tangled. The opening is big enough to land a good size sized fish. I expect no issues with the trout, redfish, & striper I catch. The net is light, and while I have not tested it, it is supposed to float which is a big bonus on the kayak.
Adam benton : It’s perfect.
I like to fish by myself in a kayak, this net is perfect it folds up and has a belt clip so I hang it on my backpack and it literally goes anywhere with me. It’s sturdy and light so I can walk to my favorite fishing spots and not be tired by the time I get there. Will recommend this to anyone.
Jarhead : Surprisingly good quality net...
Was very impressed with this product. Perfect size and folds up nicely. Very sturdy and well designed. Great value as well. Do recommend and would buy again but doubt if I will need another for a long time.
Les Wang : Folds up small
This net folds down to the smallest footprint of all the nets I have. It also is made of rubbery material so hooks don’t easily get tangled up in it. The flat bottom is good for keeping fish flat and not curled up which makes them flop around. Overall a great net if you want something that can fit in a backpack. I got the smallest size.
Christopher M. Sharp : Quality of product is superb for the price!
This is an absolute great product for the price, very well made and you can tell attention to detail was spent during the production of this item. The net is made of a nice plastic material which is somewhat sticky, so it should have a bit better "traction" when a fish is in the net. What is great is this can also be used to catch butterflies and other creepy crawly things, which my daughter and wife like to do.
If I had one con, it would be that part of the net is held into place by a rather small zip tie...I am not docking any stars off for this since this can easily be replaced with a larger zip tie or even a thick piece of rope. I wouldn't let this stop you from purchasing the item.
Tom George II : Durable one handed operation!
I was looking for a replacement fishing net that would fit neatly in my backpack and slide or hook onto my waders for trout fishing. My old net had gotten hard to work after a couple of years and I needed an upgrade. This definitely is the best I've used. Nice wide opening, compact storage until you need it and best of all it can easily be deployed from the folded position with one hand. Pull the spring clip back and push the bail out with your leg and you're set. I have had the pleasure of using the other version of this net with the telescopic pole for shore fishing throughout Colorado this season and it has lasted and performed flawlessly. I have no doubt that this smaller version will give the same reliability and satisfaction as it's big brother. Fish on!
Emanuel Peri : Great value fishing net
This net is great value. I love that it is well built, floats, and can even be deployed from folded to fully open with a one-handed swing. the mesh is fish-friendly, and overall this is a great net for the price point. I would highly recommend it. Finally the weather is getting good enough to go kayak fishing, and this net is indispensable!
Colt Reece : Nearly Perfect
What a great net! In reviewing the new Blue Floating Fishing Net, I would summarize that Plussino took an already amazing, quality, durable fishing net, and step it up another notch. From a company that is currently making its way into the fishing community, it is great to know that they are willing to listen to its customers and making the necessary changes to their products. With the combined efforts equals quality products. The new Blue Floating Fishing Net combines the already study handle build with a mixture of carbon fiber and fiber glass with a now floating net head. The net has a very similar look to the current model, but now two float tubes added to two of the three triangular sides. With the added floats, there is no need to worry about the net sinking or getting dropped of your kayak. The net itself is made from a nice snagless material that is very fish friendly. From tip to toe the whole net compresses to fit conveniently in your boat, kayak, car, or anywhere else compact. Overall this is a well product. From company to consumer, Plussino has listened and made a top quality product for any fishermen needing a fish net. Now with all the positivity and praise that I finished giving on this net, time for the one flaw in the near perfect net. I would say the one flaw is in the screw shaft extender on the shaft itself. It is located just underneath the belt clip and due to this, it makes it very difficult to tighten or loosen. Beings I really like this net, there is a way around this problem. My plan is to unscrew the two screws that hold the belt clip in place. Once that is removed, I will be able to extend and reduce the length of the shaft much easier. Again, this is a very well made product and allows for pulling in this fish off the bank, canoe, kayak, or anywhere else that a net is needed.
A&P Johnston : Folds up nice and small
Light, small, and affordable enough to leave in your vehicle or boat and forget about it until you need it. Heavy duty enough to land a large fish and hold up well over time.
Ian H. : Exactly what I wanted
I bought for use while on my kayak to replace my previous net. Biggest selling point is that it floats. My last net did not, and due to user error, my old net is somewhere in the lake.
The plusinno net has a good handle length, i do not need to lean over when using it from the kayaks. the handle also fits into my rod holders, which makes for easy storage and quick access without folding it back up.
Will likely be buying another of these for my other kayaks, that way when i have other people join me, i do not have to worry about losing my nets
Christian Gugliemo : Great Net
Love this net! The material used is sturdy and i haven't had any problems with it. I thought it was a great idea to add the float tubes onto it because i don't have to worry about the pole sinking at all. Very well made for the price offered, will buy again if i ever lose or break mine!
David : good for kayakers
I use thise one for my kayak, i choose thise one because it fokds and thats important when you dont have too much room like in a boat.
Doug R. : Good value
Really nice size net which folds into a compact space. Perfect for keeping under the seat in my john boat. Locks into place securely and feels like it will hold up for a long time. I can fold and unfold it with one hand with no problem. Belt clip is useful, and the floats will keep me from having to fish for it when I drop it. Very nice product at this price!
Amanda Bonnett : Light weight and durable.
Folds up tight and unfolds easy. Love how it floats, so you can tie to your waist for easy grab while your waiding water fly fishing also there is a clip that clips to your belt helps to free up hands and the light weight freatuer really helps when you have a hike to the fishing spot. The fold feature is great while packing up gear really saves room. The net has a great Teflon coat on it so it does not hold the water and drys quickly so reduces dripping. It's nice to have an equal amount of durability and weight thats hard to find but there is a great clip, with one thumb i have learned to close it with one hand and a flip. All in all im glad for the find and great time to find it with the yearly trout drop. I've never been seared wrong by PLUSINNO yet. Thanks guys!
James Schlick Outdoors : This is the net you want!
This fishing net is awesome! It folds up for easy transport and storage. It's really lightweight. And i really like how the net is rubber coated so its safer for the fish verses the older standard string nets. Another plus is the net will float if dropped in the water which i have done by accident in the past with my older net while out on my kayak fishing. So now i don't have to worry about trying to fish my net back out of the water lol. I definitely recommend if your looking for a good affordable net that gets the job done!
Jaime Ruiz : Excellent for the price
I am impress with the weight an the multiple uses for the net. I used on the pier to retrieve my catch and last Sunday I used in boat to reach for some fish I caught. I even tried to see if it really floats and it does. Very happy with my new tool to make my fishing days easy and more enjoyable. Wry happy.
TeNeka Kennedy : Great quality!
When I got my net. I was surprised by the quality of the materials. It looks and feels great. It’s easy to open and close. The netting is a rubber lined textile. I haven’t had a chance to use it at the lake to see it float. I am excited about this purchase.
DANIEL CASTAO : Worth the money
This is a really nice fishing net, it is really sturdy without been heavy and it floats. The best part is that it is foldable, so you can take it with you anywhere because it is light weight and when it is folded you can carry it inside your backpack. The net is strong enough for a heavy fish.
Tiffany : Very well built!!
This net is amazing, it stows away for easy transport and is very well built. It is perfect for everything from walking a creek to boat. It opens and closes with ease.
Tom : Sturdy and Compact Fishing Net
There are several things that I like about this fishing net. When folded, it is only 16 inches long, 4 inches wide, and under 2 inches thick, so it can easily fit in my backpack. Unfolded, it becomes over 28 inches long, and the net becomes 15.5 inches wide at the end and 13 inches deep, which is big enough for most fish. The net is rubber-coated, which is friendly to the fish for the many catch-and-release ponds in my neck of the woods. The black foam rubber handle is durable, and coupled with the two blue foam rubber net guides, the whole net floats. The folding mechanism is sturdy and includes a locking latch. Overall, this is a very nice fishing net for the money.

Elmer J. : Love this net!
I love this net. I have a couple of others but this is my favorite. Im either hiking getting to my favore spots or on canoe. Either way this is light weight, compact and very convenient to cary around. Havent dropped it in the water but have tested it and it floats which makes it perfect on the canoe. Its perfect for almost any fresh water fishing.
nechie levitz : Space Saving Net!
I am an avid fisherman but carrying around a giant net and even fitting a net into my small car has always been a challenge. I was thrilled to find a large enough net that could fold down to a small size. It's very sturdy, I even tested it out with a 25 pound weight. I mean, I haven't caught monster fish that weighed that much, but its good to know I'd be able to use this net to haul it out of the river.
Parker08 : Great fishing net!
This net is perfect! I was looking for a more lightweight, compact net when fishing for panfish and trout. The Clip on the handle will keep it snug on my tackle bag for easy transport.
Maguire : Compact, durable, easy to use
I really enjoyed the compactness of this fishing net. I've often found with other products that they're simply too bulky and extremely exhausting to lug around if you have to hike out to a good fishing spot. This net is collapsible and foldable, making it easy to transport in a hiking bag! The netting is made of some sort of rubbery mesh so I'm hoping that it will be more difficult to tear in comparison to a regularly rope braided netting. The netting itself is also creating closely so the holes aren't spread far apart. I've found that this is useful in catching smaller baitfish that often escape from larger holes. I highly recommend.
Christina H : Great floating net
I received my net quickly and was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness of it! The handle is telescopic allowing it to be easily packable or longer. The net is very lightweight without taking away from its sturdiness! One of my favorite features of this net is that it floats! I do a lot of kayak fishing so having a floating net is a huge benefit! I would highly recommend this net!
JimmyK : Nice compact net that floats. Awesome for me
Collapses down to a convenient size and it’s quick/easy to collapse and open up. The compact size and a net that floats is a huge plus for me since I usually fish from a kayak, so space in limited and if I tip over, it’s nice knowing this can easily be recovered. Awesome affordable option.
Amazon Customer : Solid Floating Net!
Solid net - it was bigger than I had imagined, so it has tons of room for catching larger fish. The netting is sturdy, as is the handle and hoop section. As previous reviewers have mentioned, it's very easy to open. I'm assuming most people will have both hands available to open it, but in the rare case that you do need to open it one-handed, it's very easy - you just need to grip the handle, with the net/hoop side down, and quickly flick it upwards - then it will snap into place and be ready to go.
As noted in the image, the net floats very well, as advertised! Overall great buy for the price, and it helps to have the belt buckle clip available too, if you're wading or hiking to a spot.
Deeh : Works well
I like the mess, it is rubbery. It kind of sucks if using lures as they snag easily but the fish does not get away. It folds and stores nicely and quick to open catch that fish.
