Just received, only seals about 6 inches towards the open end. The hinged end i just get dots of seal not a full seal. Do i replace the element? Do i

Answer: If you just received this unit, it should not need to have the element replaced. I have been using mine for about a year on the original element without problem.

Answer: I received mine a few days ago. I've only tried it several times to verify that it is working properly, but it seems to work well for me. I suggest that your return it for a replacement, and hopefully the new one will work better.

Answer: I’ve not had that issue. But try holding the sealer strip down a bit longer. Might be a faulty heat element?

Is it possible with this to seal very wide items, a small bit at a time?

Answer: I would say no because you would have gaps. For wide items I use a wood burner and a yard stick.

Can i seal shrink wrap with this?

Answer: I suppose it partially depends on the type of shrink wrap bags you are using, but I do it all the time without a problem.

Answer: I would think so. You can adjust the heat to the thickness of plastic.

So I just got this today and know that it will be great for sealing my soaps, however, there was an extra piece that came with it and not knowing how to keep it clean...WHY ARE MY INSTRUCTIONS IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE!!!! It was shipped to a USA address. English Please!!!

Worked right out of the box. Has variable temp setting and works great. No need to pre-heat. Just close it down on the shrink bag and it seals/cuts the excess from the bag. I use 100 gauge bags for my soap. Works great at about 70% power. seals and cuts fast! The filament wire is easy to replace if needed.

We wreath makers have a problem with the mesh that we use to create deco mesh wreaths. No matter what you do to it, or how you cut it, it all frays. With this heat sealer the problem is solved. And it is very easy to use.

bellaofarabia : Cheap but works decent in a pinch.

The seal was very week, it either melts it completely cause it’s too hot or you have to seal it more then once sometimes cause it doesn’t melt the whole strip. Overall it’s not bad for needing a cheap replacement in a hurry but if you are doing a lot of work or need it for more then a month with regular usage this is not the one. Ok for a back up while getting another model fixed though.

Broke after a few uses - shot sparks from handle area of heating element. Company did not send second element as shown in product listing. Contacted suppler and was told Amazon sold it deal with them. Recommend another company and brand!

Must have been a bad batch of heating elements because the one i received does not seal properly. I get a good seal for 5-6" then just small dots on the rest of the sealing surface. Tryed both elements same problem. Flipped the elements end to end and the problem follows.

The product worked fine to seal the bags. I already was familiar with this type sealer which was a good thing as the instruction pamphlet was in a language I did not recognize. When I picked up the unit the rough bottom sliced my finger. On the plus side it is extremely light weight, it was inexpensive, and it worked fine for short small jobs.

I checked the temperature with my temperature probe and on max it got up to 178f (81c).

When I maxed out the heat, sealed a bag and removed it... the seal just fell apart.

It's having a hard time sealing 9mil mylar food bags. Even turned up all the way and holding it for several seconds each time you have to hit them several times before they actually seal. I'm hoping it will break in and get better.
