Just received, only seals about 6 inches towards the open end. The hinged end i just get dots of seal not a full seal. Do i replace the element? Do i

Answer: If you just received this unit, it should not need to have the element replaced. I have been using mine for about a year on the original element without problem.

Answer: I received mine a few days ago. I've only tried it several times to verify that it is working properly, but it seems to work well for me. I suggest that your return it for a replacement, and hopefully the new one will work better.

Answer: I’ve not had that issue. But try holding the sealer strip down a bit longer. Might be a faulty heat element?

Is it possible with this to seal very wide items, a small bit at a time?

Answer: I would say no because you would have gaps. For wide items I use a wood burner and a yard stick.

Can i seal shrink wrap with this?

Answer: I suppose it partially depends on the type of shrink wrap bags you are using, but I do it all the time without a problem.

Answer: I would think so. You can adjust the heat to the thickness of plastic.

my deco mesh will NOT seal.....help

I'm using this for a business. Waited a week for the sealer. It never worked. Did not heat up or seal mylars. I thought I was getting a professional product. I waited a week for it. DIsappointing.... very.

I checked the temperature with my temperature probe and on max it got up to 178f (81c).

When I maxed out the heat, sealed a bag and removed it... the seal just fell apart.

We wreath makers have a problem with the mesh that we use to create deco mesh wreaths. No matter what you do to it, or how you cut it, it all frays. With this heat sealer the problem is solved. And it is very easy to use.

One of the most disappointing items bought thus far.

The box came opened and damaged - wrinkled and semi-crushed in one corner and loose top. No secured taping, labeling or anything to indicate that this was a new product. Inside, the device came with a rubber band wrapped around it, and a simple set of instructions. I recall it had 6 or 8 temp settings, but virtually no difference.

Tried it on a lot of packages, including all the name brand chips, pretzels, popcorn, etc. None of the temp settings sealed effectively or evenly. In most cases, I noticed gaps. And even the sealed portions came loose easily.

The only limited success I’ve had was on bread packages - the traditional soft clear plastic. Even then, the temp has to be set high.

One additional note. You have no control over how long you can press the sealer. Timing is all automatically done and VERY short.

Not for Mylar bags. Other plastic it works just fine, but I was looking to seal long term food storage Mylar bags. Didn’t matter how how a great setting, or how long I held out there after the heat cycle, it did not produce a full seal across the bag. I will be returning it.
