Answer: Mine also quit. I called the company who told me that my model has a fuse located inaccessibly inside the riveted metal body. THe newer models had the fuse just outside. My unit was no more than two years old. THe company refused to replace my dehydrator, instead offering me a modest (I think $25) discount on a new unit. I decided to go with another dehydrator when I scraped together enough money to buy another. Good luck!

Answer: I had to throw it into the trash after just over two years. The fan motor went out, and Westin refused to sell me a new one. All other food dehydrators sell replacement parts. I think it was about 100-145. I just bought an Aroma. It has a higher temperature range and is a much better unit.

Answer: The numbers on the dial range from 95-155 F.

Answer: Forced air ,and stainless steel wire racks . It works great. You can't go by the settings they tell you to. But it is an awesome product !!!

Answer: It does have a timer, more or less, in hours. Also be warned, my unit blew a fuse and stopped working. New models have the fuse on the outside of the riveted body so make sure you can access the fuse. Weston declined to offer me a new unit because my year warranty had just expired.

Answer: Yes, the Westin 74-1001-W Pro-1000, but please be aware that Westin does not stock parts for their products. The fan in my unit went out in just over two years. I contacted Westin about buying a fan motor from them, or where I could buy one. All I got was a run around and no way to replace the fan motor. $300.00 down the drain. You can even buy a fan motor for a $39.99 Snack Master.

Fuse good but nothing works. No fan, no heat. Unit is riveted together, not screwed. Impossible to open, worthless. You should buy another brand.

Growing increasingly disenchanted w/overseas junk. Seems all think the USA is a cash cow to be bilked (not milked). Sparingly used, this dehydrator has not been my fave appliance. The shelves are chrome, not stainless steel, hence they rust, necessitating purchase (read: MORE $$$) of shelf liners. Now I call the customer technical support, they neither carry the part I need for repair nor will they provide a source for the part. The temperature gauge was inaccurate from the get go, necessitating use of a separate thermometer. It's noisy, too. I don't mind the noise on one hand, but that means it 'rattles' from the noise producing component rattle. This rattle decreases shelf life. I've managed to gerry rig the current problem component so I can reassemble & use- still there's no telling how long it will last, obviously I have to spend lots of time digging through parts component suppliers to find another. One positive: a few years ago I contacted their tech support center for an issue on a vacuum sealer (brand new). She stuck it out w/me till we had the issue resolved! Great girl/customer service! This involved phone tag, getting a repairman w/time bridged in on call. A simple issue, but w/o experience, I was not getting the job done on my own. Kudos to both of them, stink bombs to the company, the builders & their business practices! Not to mention the politicians enriching themselves & our enemies on our dime! I'd give the dehydrator 1 a lone star, but that would be insulting to Texas! I'm very very tired of overseas junk, from hardware to tools, to lack of customer support, to turnaround times, you name it.

ABSOLUTE JUNK! Stopped working after less than 40 hours of operation! Got a non stop "run around" for 3 months from their customer service, once they finally replaced the unit, 5 MONTHS LATER, the second unit also quit working after 33 hours of operation. By the time I received a response to my inquiries on product replacement, service or replacement parts my "warranty" had expired! This product deserves NO STARS! Their customer service is the worst in the business! They have no service dept and NO REPLACEMENT PARTS. Upon disassembly of my two "JUNK UNITS" I was able to determine that the timers are completely faulty and there is no replacement for this! Don't waste your hard earned money on this JUNK, IT DOES NOT LAST, and once you get done with the "RUN AROUND" from their so called "Customer Service" the unit is out of warranty and you, the consumer are left holding the bag! dehydrator works fine but a corner wasn't bent properly causing the bottom tray to be vary difficult to put in or out ... also they have no email or online customer service and instead want international customers to call long distance ..... didn't feel like paying probably what i paid for the unit to ship it back for RMA

Very large compared to my previous model. I have not yet been able to completely fill it. I have used it for multiple batches of jerky and once to dehydrate some vegetables. It is easy to use and does a great job.

This dehydrator works well, but is very loud. The drying racks rattle and shake so much that I am thinking of putting in the basement--so I wont hear it as much. Another issue is that, as a raw foodist, you don't want to heat food above 115 degrees (F). The label on the dial is way off with what the actual temp is (on mine.) I used an oven thermometer to find where I need to actually set the temp control--For a temp range of around 110 degrees I have to set the knob to 130 degrees--so there is quite a bit of difference. Otherwise, I am amazed at how quickly it dehydrates fruits and veggies...
