How wide are the trays?

Answer: 16 inches wide 13-1/2 deep

my dehydrator just quit working is there a reset button on them

Answer: Mine also quit. I called the company who told me that my model has a fuse located inaccessibly inside the riveted metal body. THe newer models had the fuse just outside. My unit was no more than two years old. THe company refused to replace my dehydrator, instead offering me a modest (I think $25) discount on a new unit. I decided to go with another dehydrator when I scraped together enough money to buy another. Good luck!

what are the trays made of

Is it NSF certified

Answer: I cannot find anything on it, so I am not sure. The fan motor went out on mine at a little over two years and Westin will not sell me another one. So, our unit is no longer in use. Even a $39.95 Snack Master at Walmart sells replacement fan motors

What is the temperaure range?

Answer: I had to throw it into the trash after just over two years. The fan motor went out, and Westin refused to sell me a new one. All other food dehydrators sell replacement parts. I think it was about 100-145. I just bought an Aroma. It has a higher temperature range and is a much better unit.

Answer: The numbers on the dial range from 95-155 F.

They say they are not stainless

Answer: Forced air ,and stainless steel wire racks . It works great. You can't go by the settings they tell you to. But it is an awesome product !!!

Answer: Stainless steel trays. Not sure if forced or passive heating; since I don't know the difference. I use product on weekly basis and sanitized trays by using dishwasher.

does weston have a model with a timer?

Answer: It does have a timer, more or less, in hours. Also be warned, my unit blew a fuse and stopped working. New models have the fuse on the outside of the riveted body so make sure you can access the fuse. Weston declined to offer me a new unit because my year warranty had just expired.

Answer: Yes, the Westin 74-1001-W Pro-1000, but please be aware that Westin does not stock parts for their products. The fan in my unit went out in just over two years. I contacted Westin about buying a fan motor from them, or where I could buy one. All I got was a run around and no way to replace the fan motor. $300.00 down the drain. You can even buy a fan motor for a $39.99 Snack Master.

Is the interior stainless steel as well or any other materials on the inside?

Do you have to use the timer to turn the dehydrator on? I dehydrate things for up to 48 hours and I don't want to reset the timer every 15 hours.

Answer: No the timer is optional.

Fans keeps scraping on the mesh wall in the back.

Purchased this product about 2 years ago. It gets used about 2 times a month. Recently tried to use it to make jerky and it will not stay on. I've adjusted the temperature down to see if it is an overheating problem but the unit still will not stay on. The fan shuts off and the unit will not get hot. I've contacted customer service but haven't heard back. I'm disheartened about the product, reading the other reviews and knowing that many others have suffered through this same issue, only to be told by the manufacture, nothing can be done to fix the unit. I'm hoping to limp this machine along until this batch of jerky is finished and I can do a better investigation, as to what the problem is. Terribly dissatisfied. Would not recommend to anyone! Save yourself the headache and buy a different unit with a better warranty!!! Not worth the money!

Fuse good but nothing works. No fan, no heat. Unit is riveted together, not screwed. Impossible to open, worthless. You should buy another brand.

Very large compared to my previous model. I have not yet been able to completely fill it. I have used it for multiple batches of jerky and once to dehydrate some vegetables. It is easy to use and does a great job.

This is a nice stainless steel unit. What you need to be aware of is the temperature setting is not accurate. You will need a good digital thermometer to properly gauge your temperature. When I first received the unit and filled it I set it to 100 degrees and the heating element never came on. I played around with it until I found the best setting and just marked it with a sharpie. I use the same setting all the time so this works just fine that way. I didn't want a plastic box type dehydrator and this was the best alternative in my opinion.

The dehydrator met my expectations for performance . It is fairly easy to clean but caution is needed as there are many very sharp edges.

After two years, this expensive dehydrator just quit working. Calls to customer service went to a voice mail and were not anwered. I would not buy it again.

We received the Weston dehydrator on July1st, and now, a month and a half later it is no longer working. It turns on, but there is no heat being generated. I essentially just rotted ten trays of sliced bananas! Huge bummer. Don't buy. And apparently I can't return or exchange it.

I got exactly what I expected. Very happy with my purchase. You will have to order mesh sheets to make some of your favorite things. But the stainless steal is very sturdy.

Thane Peterson : I have to give it 4 stars because I like it, but...

This is a great dehydrator and the price is right on, it functions very well and produces great results however it isn't perfect. The edges are all a little sharp, and assembly of the rails for the racks is a little tough because of quality control. The timer unit stopped functioning within the first month of use and disassembly revealed that the module is defective due to a poor spring contact design, with use it will inevitably weaken arch and fail, it can be manually fixed and cleaned but it would have been nice not to have to mess with it. After three months of using it the blower motor burnt up which isn't a surprise because it has a heating element directly surrounding it and is poorly ventilated I am surprised it lasted as long as it did because just using it cooks itself. I haven't thrown it away though because I like it enough to fix it, with some improvements of course.
