External Container Vacuum Function

Come with one in-built vacuum hose, it can preserve food with vacuum canister, jars & compatible with wine stoppers and the clothes vacuum bags.

Common Troubleshooting

Can be sealed, but cannot be completely vacuumed

Make sure the opening of the bag is resting entirely inside of the Vacuum chamber. The edge of the bag should not go beyond the Vacuum chamber;
Check the bag for leaks. Seal the bag with some air in it. Submerge it in water and apply pressure. Bubbles indicate a leak;
Check whether the black gaskets rings are in good condition, if there's any damage or dirt on them. It is not recommended to lock on the both ends of the lid when the machine is not in use, as long time squeeze will cause foam gasket deformed and affect the vacuum function;

Cannot be sealed properly

Make sure that there's no grease, liquids or other impurities on the heater strip;
Make sure that there's no wrinkles or dirts on the openning of the bags;

Air gets into the bag after vacuum sealing for a few days

Sealed food is fresh fruits, vegetables or seeds, so there is photosynthesis and respiration, which release heat and gas. It's normal phenomenon, but not because the sealing is loose. It is recommended to store the food after vacuum in refrigerator, which can slow down the photosynthesis and respiration.

Vac/seal button, seals but doesn't vacuum. Any suggestions?

Answer: This has happened to me once. After reading the instruction, I realized that you have to place the top of the bag into the "well area" which they call it Vacuum chamber, and make sure one corner does not slip out when you lock the top down before you press vacuum/seal. Hope this helps.

Can this seal mylar bags?

Answer: Highly recommend to use the vacuum sealer bags with texture on both sides, smooth bags can only be sealed without vacuuming. and the regular plastic bags are too thin to hold the negative pressure and probably melt and stick on the heating chamber during the sealing process.

How many seals can you do repeatedly before you have to let the heat strip rest?

Answer: It says can support 100 consecutive operations, but I personally give it a rest about 15sec between each seal.

Does the air come back in the bags after a few weeks?

So if you have never taken the leap to get a vacuum sealer, you should do it immediately. You can save so much money on spoiled food it pays for itself in no time. This one is far easier to use than my last machine and also seems to be more powerful.

After the first one seemed great I got 3 more. Used them for a bit then 3 out of 4 failed while a Gourmia I got long ago it is still going strong. Get this if you want what seems is a great vacuum sealer until after the warranty is expired.

The foam also failed much quicker than that, in spite of making 1,000% certain from day 1 I had an object in there so it wouldn’t close like the warning said. It took many tries or some pressing to get it to seal after that, before the machines failed completely.

I think the Gourmia GVS435 went up in price but with all the bad sealers out there it may be cheaper than replacing them.

Update: Rather than discard the 3 failed units I opened them up and take a look. Motor screws vibrated loose on all 3 of them. A simple retightening fixed all 3. Btw you can fix the poor quality foam by thickening it with a thin strip of duct tape underneath. Still what these really basic defects tell me is zero long term quality testing was done and they just wanted to make it work long enough to get good reviews. I highly doubt a majority of the units sold will last a long time and I wonder what will fail next.

I was excited to get my product because I have some stuff I really need to seal however I was very much disappointed the suction worked but the seal doesn't I tried repeatedly to see you the bags half seal the other half not seal so the suction came right out because air was going into the bag I was so pissed off.. I guess for $24 you get what you pay for but it's still my hard-earned money and I expected better maybe mine was just defective not sure or maybe that's how all their products are I bought it because of the reviews but sometime the reviews can be misleading maybe they can send me another one that's in a better working order and I may change my review if it doesn't fact work

Since this was the first time I've used one, I don't know if they're all the same. You really need to read the brochure. Practice with some items first, especially ensuring you haven't over-filled the bag so a seal is impossible. Double check your work. Sometimes if you didn't leave enough room and didn't make sure both sides were flat, the seal won't keep. It's like a slow leak on a tire, lol! Also, anything that has liquid, like ham slices from a spiral ham, Yeesh!! I could not get those bags to seal because as the machine continually sucks out air, it also pulls moisture. It's then too wet on the inside top of the bag to seal. I ended up putting the ham slices in zip lock bags, then had success process. I didn't want to do it that way, but that ham was on sale and there's just me! I love the way I can lay items flat, and I have much more room in the freezer. I have saved so much food and money this way. Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use. Buy extra rolls of bags ahead of time!!

First time to purchase a sealer, and it was a great find! No need for a brand name or more expensive product. This one works just fine for me. Just make sure there is not a lot of liquid in bag or it won't seal well. Fold bag over so when you need to seal there will not be any moisture.

The compression speed of this vacuum machine is very fast, and things can be compressed within 30 seconds. When the indicator light of the vacuum machine lights up, it means that the contents of your compression bag have been compressed, and this vacuum machine has delivered two large models Vacuum bag, in the picture I used a 3*4 vacuum bag. You can only eat 1-2 slices of this kind of food a day, so you can only save it in a 3*4 vacuum bag and store it in the refrigerator. With a vacuum machine, food can be kept fresh for longer.

It does what it's supposed to. This was an upgrade on a bare bones sealer and it works hassle free. I've used it with the included bags as well as other bags with a different texture. It makes a 1/8" seal which seems pretty secure, and successfully sealed even when the bag was wet (I had to reseal once when it was wet)
