Answer: Our machine generates heat and blows it across the food in order to dehydrate it. It does not get excessively hot, but should probably be in the same temperature range as the hot water that comes out of your tap (110-120 degrees). Depends on your sensitivity to temperature as to whether that feels "really hot," but yes, there should be some heat generated when the unit is working,

It has a magnetic door which isn’t too difficult to open or close and the price is reasonable for the quality I received. It’s early yet but if the quality holds up over time, my five star review stands.
The only con is that it’s very large by comparison to my old dehydrator but worth the additional space in my opinion.
