Does this have a timer function that will trigger it on at a selected time?

Answer: This controller has timer feature, but it doesn't have clock feature. For example, you can set a delay timer in its first step (like 60 minutes delay from now), so it can be delayed to power up your smoker. But you cannot set to turn it on at specific time (like 4:00pm).

Doe's this work with 5G or is it still 2G only?

Answer: 2.4G WIFI only. 5G WIFI is currently not supported. Thanks.

I noticed in the picture a Probe 3, is a second food probe supported?

Answer: Yes. Probe 3 is for 2nd meat probe. This controller can display up to 3 probes at same time. One for cabinet, two for meat. This amazon listing (ASIN B079Q7XFF2) only includes two probe only (one cabinet and one meat). Please check amazon listing ASIN B07JNJY21V for a combo set including three probes.

Will this work with the masterbuilt 400 series like the 440s?

Answer: Thanks for contacting us. Does the masterbuilt 440s come with a digital control panel? If yes, you need to make a modification to bypass its digital control panel. For example, you can connect one power cord directly to its internal heating element. Then connect that power cord to our controller. The help center page on Auber Instruments provided one modification guide for masterbuilt smoker. You may take a look at it.

Answer: If a Masterbuilt 400 is electric and has an access to the cooking/smoking box (for probe) then yes. I was about ready to ditch my SmokinTex smoker when I stumbled on this controller. It was the best thing I ever bought. You can monitor the numbers of your cook anywhere because of the Bluetooth capability. I absolutely LOVE this controller even though it IS expensive. But it WORKS!

Answer: You can get access to your controller via Aubersmart app by WIFI and cellular internet.

what is the difference between the two plugs?

Answer: Do you mean power output sockets? Or two temperature sensors? This controller has two power output sockets. One is for your heating element in your smoker. One is for analog smoke generator. This controller also has two temperature probes. One is for cabinet temperature, another is for meat temperature.
