What is the difference between this weston pro-2600 and the weston pro-2300?

Answer: The 2600 is a newer model and its sealing bar is 1” wider. The pumps appear to be the same.

Answer: I think that they are basically the same. The 2600 may be an inch or so wider.

Answer: 300 Knutson meters of force. No idea but this is best vacuou sealed we hands down. Pay the money!

Does it only seal textured bags?

Answer: It seals untextured bags as well.

Answer: Yes. The vacuum bags have to be used. It is a great machine as I have used it to process four 800# steers and it has worked flawlessly.

Answer: Yes it will seal, but without the ribbed plastic, it wont vaccum well.

How does it compare to the pro 3500

Can you use the bags that come in a roll

Answer: YES YOU CAN , HAVE TO SEAL BOTTOM AFTER CUTTING THE SIZE YOU NEED, FILL IT UP AND SEAL THE TOP

Can you change the vacuum sealing time to more then 3 seconds??

Answer: No, the sealing time is pre set in the software. However, I have found that the pre set sealing time is more than enough for my uses. I use and seal heavy (thick) bags, and they always seal just fine. PLUS This machine will make perfect vacuum tight seals even with wet, greasey, or oily bags. I love mine, really fast and easy to use. Foolproof, actually.

Can you use any brand of sealer bags??

Answer: Any brand bag has worked well for mine so far. From no name bulk to Food Saver brand they all work very similar.

Answer: China

Why is the 2600 model cheaper than the 2300 model? Is it because the 2300 is advertised as "commercial" and 2600 is not? Which one has a better pump?

Answer: Actually the pumps are exactly the same the only difference is is the 2600 has a bigger bar for the sealer it’s just longer than the 2300 also depending on which 2300 you’re looking at the digital controls can be a lot more advanced with options

Can you use Mylar Bags in this machine?

Answer: If the bags are smooth sided, then they are made only for chamber sealers.

Answer: No, they won't seal.

Answer: Yes. It will seal anything.

Can this machine seal two bags at a time?

Answer: I’m sure it can but have not tried. It would have to be side by side. It seals relatively fast so you must be looking at a commercial application. The machine is high quality and I would expect it to hold up to commercial use.

Answer: As long as the bags fit in sealer without wrinkles or overlapping each other, yes.

It's powerful than food saver?

Answer: Yes. Much more powerful. It is very large, heavy and takes a great deal of counter space. Unless you do high volume and large bags a food saver will do the job for most users. The Westin also doesn’t have a vacuum port if you use jar sealers etc. The Weston does a fantastic job but is overkill for most home users.

Answer: It is more powerful! This is all stainless steel and its heavy. Easy to clean.

Answer: I guess that would depend on the FoodSaver. I have only seen the less expensive models, and the Weston has significantly more vacuum than that particular sealer

Would it seal liquid?

Answer: Not very well. It sucks the liquid out the top. You really need the complete vacuum chamber type to do liquids.

Can you put a line on for mason jars?

Answer: There is port but manufacturers do not recommend .

Its better than food saver?

Answer: Yes it is ! You have a 30 second cool down time

This is my second one I have one at my hunting camp this one will be for my fishing camp I enjoyed the other one so much that's why I'm buying a second one it does a great job of vacuum sealing I would highly recommend one for anybody that hunts or fishes

I buy beef primal cuts and dry age them. I needed a food sealer I could trust for deep freezing the steaks. After days of research and comparisons, I decided to try this Weston Pro 2600 and I'm glad I did! It has great suction and produces a very positive seal line. No air leaks here. You can not compare this to those home food sealers. This is the real deal. It's a heavy commercial grade item that provides a seal you can trust!

Been waiting to get one of these for a long time. It was hard for me to justify the money but after finally getting one it was well worth the cost. I’ve been using food saver models for years in varying expenses and this thing blows them all away. From fish to beef the vacuum power is amazing! The only thing is that you have to cut all your bags using a knife or scissors. It was nice having the cutter attachment in the machine because the bags came out nice and square. I’ll get over this though pretty quick. One of the best things about this machine is you can replace the heat strip or even the motor. You cannot do that with the food saver. This machine is not for the once in a while vacuum sealer. This is a serious machine for people who Buy in bulk or process their own game/meat. It’s big and relatively heavy and requires a fairly big space to store it in. I easily get 2 to 3 times the freezer life over conventional methods of freezing. When you purchase bags make sure you get 5 mm bags. Any kind of bone in meat will poke right through 3 mm bags.

Upgraded from food saver. Better vacuum, same simple process.
The cord falls out of its storage when stored on its side, so I shoved a cork in to hold it. The top also swings free when stored on its side.
The mfg should revisit this as it's just too big to store flat in my kitchen.
