Answer: I have never tried it but I don't think so. I think you can only seal the bags that are made for a vacuum sealer. I think the sealing bar would get to hot for a potato chip bag.

I am really bad about leaving reviews. I wanted to take the time because I’ve purchased a few vacuum sealers before buying this one. One of them being the food saver sealer. (Which ended up in the goodwill pile about a month after purchasing). This sealer works great, it has great suction, is compact for storage, easy to clean and they send you extra seals for replacement. Although I haven’t had to use them yet. There is a bag cutter on the unit and it holds a roll of bags inside. You will not be disappointed with this sealer.

I'm sending it back, won't seal the bags every time. If there is any kind of moisture or anything where the seal is going to be, it won't melt the plastic together. Clean and dry bags work fine, any thing else, nope. The suction is good, but the fact that it won't seal anything but pristine bags is a no go for me. I have a old, cheap Rival vacuum sealer that will seal those bags just fine. Once I used them side by side, this one had to be returned.

I must have gotten the one made by someone who had a bad weekend... and suffered a rough day back to work. It had no suction.. I opened it up as I am handy with this stuff and did repairs on commercial food vacuum systems at a food plant... Yeah, I voided the warranty.. But I wasn't planning to stand for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes in a post office in NYC to send it back so the warranty was moot. A hose had been installed but was too short and had ripped from the tension now it's too short for re installation. Long story short... It's been sent to the recycle bin.. So.... I'm not trying to give it a bad review but I can't give it a good review. I just got a lemon.. Good luck if you buy one.

Doesnt vacum seal properly no matter how you try , i used different bags and it always leaves a air inside, you can use this for sous vide if you seal it properly but i wouldnt recomend it for storing food

This thing is a piece of garbage. I think I could suck air out of a vacuum bag faster with a stray. During/After sealing 50% of sealed food bags have air in them. Throwing this out and spending more money for a better unit.

Easy to use, takes up little space on my counter top. Great product, especially for the cost! Works just as good as the Food Saver brand for a fraction of the cost (even uses their brand of plastic if you have any left over from after their machine fails you!)

I was only able to seal 3 bags. I worked vacuum sealing bags with yeast. I could notice that some yeast grains got into the vacuum system, and I thought there would be no problems as it was designed even for a liquid pass through, but on the fourth bag the device started blowing air instead of sucking.

More than 2 weeks have passed, and I have not received a return call or email.

Received used, dirty item. Parts missing and on top of that it doesn’t even work…so it doesn’t suck….the air out of the bag!

This was great at first but now the machine won't vacuum the air out. So frustrating now I have to buy another food saver machine .

I am really bad about leaving reviews. I wanted to take the time because I’ve purchased a few vacuum sealers before buying this one. One of them being the food saver sealer. (Which ended up in the goodwill pile about a month after purchasing). This sealer works great, it has great suction, is compact for storage, easy to clean and they send you extra seals for replacement. Although I haven’t had to use them yet. There is a bag cutter on the unit and it holds a roll of bags inside. You will not be disappointed with this sealer.

Looks great and is the only one I found where you can store the bags right inside, but did not work. I called the company who had me email to get a new one, but it never came and I never got any progress emails to tell me where they were on sending the new one so I just returned it. Sad, because I had high hopes!
