Answer: I have never tried it but I don't think so. I think you can only seal the bags that are made for a vacuum sealer. I think the sealing bar would get to hot for a potato chip bag.

Having read a lot of the reviews I picked this vacuum sealer, the reviews were actually mostly very good... I must have gotten the one made by someone who had a bad weekend... and suffered a rough day back to work. It had no suction.. I opened it up as I am handy with this stuff and did repairs on commercial food vacuum systems at a food plant... Yeah, I voided the warranty.. But I wasn't planning to stand for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes in a post office in NYC to send it back so the warranty was moot. A hose had been installed but was too short and had ripped from the tension now it's too short for re installation. Long story short... It's been sent to the recycle bin.. So.... I'm not trying to give it a bad review but I can't give it a good review. I just got a lemon.. Good luck if you buy one.

This replaced on I've had for 10 plus years.. I hope it last like the old one. I've used it about 20 plus times since I received it and can say it is much easier to use and I have found it seals without issue and I have not lost any food due to any freezer burn. Make sure you buy the good freezer bags. This has other sealing functions other than just for freezing items and have had no issues with sealing dry items also.

This is a very good machine,comes with a roll and sheets of vacuum sealer bags with air valve and the adapter that fits in this machine to suction these bags (different in sizes) this machine is a bargain !

The cutter broke in the first week. This thing does not close the seal for wet or dry. You will have to double seal for most sous vide meals or to vacuum your meats. It’s a bottom barrel option. Spend more and get more. Unfortunately, I am going to buy a higher end model and eat the cost of this unit. Lesson learned. Even when sealed there is air, you will find this out the hard way.

I like that this vacuum sealer is compact for storage. What I don't like about it is that it takes strength to hold the top down to create the vacuum.

I love my vacuum sealer!! My children say I don’t need any of these newer machines because I don’t have the brain power to work any of them without them giving me a class but with my vacuum sealer I was working it without them, bye the time they came over I was sealing as they say everything in my house that’s how easy it is to use; the suction power is great. Now my children ask me why I let the grandkids open things I know they aren’t going to eat it all, then it hit them I can use my vacuum sealer.????????????
