Basically zero instruction about herbs. How do you "chop chives" and not have them fall through the racks?? How about basil? Put the whole sprig?
Answer: Chives are small enough to dry whole then cut to size with a kitchen scissor. Also, there are silicone mesh tray inserts that can be cut to fit. I bought some for my trays and love them. Mine are about 1/2 inch too big for my trays but the mesh is so flexable that the extra fabric goes up the sides a little, which means I can spread food all the way th the edges without small bits going under the mesh.
Answer: I LOVE this dehydrator and hope to do herbs too eventually. For things that are small, since they don't have a fruit leather tray for this particular dehydrator, I just cut parchment paper for each tray. It was super easy and once everything is dry, you can pretty much just fold them in half and put them in a Ziploc bag to keep them away from any dust, and reuse them. For my first time buying a dehydrator and having no experience with them, this one has been PERFECT for me and now I want a bigger one. :)

Answer: No, that is a different process. Dehydrated food is only 80% of moisture removed from food. I think freeze dry is like 95%. I would look for a product that says “Freeze dries”

The shipment is on time and well packaged. The food dehydrator is the Same as I expected. There has five drying trays which is clear material that I can always observe how dry the ingredients are. It is easy to use. I just need to set up the time and temperature, then wait for it until it’s done. It works quiet as well. I really love that nice and cute food dehydrator.

Alias : Makes rattling sound
(See update at the end): The fan seems to be making a loud rattling sound as if it is hitting something every time it makes a rotation. When the power is turned off, the frequency of the tattling slows down as the speed of the rotation of the fan slows down. Is this normal? The rattling sound is loud enough to be quite annoying. Update: I know you are not supposed to do this, but I took the unit apart and found a wire rubbing against the fan. I tucked the wire away from the fan, and now it is very quiet. Had to use a tri-wing screwdriver to remove two of the screws. Now I like it as long as it stays that way. It is small, but it makes up for it with so many trays.

Great dehydrator This is my first dehydrator. And I love it. It does a great job and it’s pretty quiet. Makes a low humming noise. I love the ease of the temperature control and time and it’s auto shut off. That’s why I got this one. I just wish you could buy more treys Also fruit sticks soooo bad I just bought some mats for fruit to try hope it helps. Because you will have to pry off the fruit and it breaks apart. This is my first dehydrator and I absolutely love it! I wish I had two of them or they offered a bigger sized one. Mine has been running almost non stop since I got it! Highly, highly recommend for folks starting out their journey in dehydrating.
Edit: I still love this dehydrator to bits! BUT, I wish this company offered accessories like fruit leather pads, extra trays, etc. However, at the same time, I understand that because it's a lower wattage, that it may not be safe food wise to offer those options for this particular model. I'm going to keep an eye out on this company though because I hope to eventually see a larger, yet still affordable model, that includes cool accessories. :)
