When I press down to seal it cuts the bag, because there is a sharp point in the sloped area so how does it work?

Answer: One side is the cutter / the other side is the sealer. Make sure you have a good set of batteries in. Mine didn't work at first because the batteries I put in were no good. I grabbed another 2 AA's and bam it works like a charm. Remember that thicker plastics or bags you have to go slower as to let the heat bond them. The thinner the faster.

can you use this to seal bags for sou vide cooking?

Answer: Sous-vide works best with items that are vacuum sealed; therefore, it you use this product for sealing bags, I would suggest that you try to remove as much air as possible before sealing your bag.

Answer: I have not tried that...but I don't see why not.

Would it work well for travel products such as shampoo and nail polish, basically anything liquid that you don't want to spill in your suitcase?

Answer: It wouldn't work on nail polish because nail polish always comes in a glass container.

Answer: Not sure. Used similar product that didn't work well. Sending this back. I looks like same product, possibly in different packaging.

Answer: No. From someone who bought it and can not return it any longer, do NOT buy this product. I followed every instruction and it failed miserably at everything. It’s horrible. Save your money.

When you are finished using this, will it automatically power down? Or do you need to take the batteries out so it stops heating up?

Answer: It is only "on" when you press down on it. The seller says to press it for 4-6 seconds before using to activate it, which is what I did. After that I placed the the bag edge into the unit, pressed down and slid slowly until it all sealed. When I released pressure the sealer was "off." I have it on my counter and there is no heat coming from it. It works sort of like a flashlight; batteries stay in but the light doesn't come on until you press a switch. Hope this helps.

Answer: It only heats up when you pinch the sealing ends together. I tested it and set a chip bag in between and it did nothing until I pinched the ends .

Which side are the batteries to be installed? i can't seem to open either side.

Answer: First, remove the hook from the sealer (just pull on it). There is a side with + at one end and - at the other. The batteries go in the opposite side. Look for the curved groove on the unmarked side. With your thumb, push up to remove the battery cover.

Answer: The batteries go in the larger side. Above the end that has the sealer you should be able to push down and backwards to release the cover

Answer: Nope, doesnt even seal the bag worth a flip

Just received my mini bag sealer no instructions any where!! How do I use it or put batteries in???

Answer: On the back there is a panel that slide off just like a remote. It takes one double a battery. One end has a sharp point for opening and the other has a weird mesh part that heats up and seals it.

Will this work on mylar bags?

Answer: I have only used it to seal chip bags. It slightly melts the bag. And that’s how it seals it. Sorry don’t know your answer. If I had a Mylar bag I would try it for you

Answer: Plain and simple. It does not work very good at all. It's a waste of money

Answer: I actually do not know. I have only used it to seal chip bags and simple seal packaging.

This product is very cheap. It works great to just reseal and reopen packages. I install the batteries, power the device on, and then slide it slowly across the top of the package. It seals the bag up so tight and tidy. It's tiny and easy to tuck away in a drawer.

Not easy to use at all. Wish I spent more money for a better version of this. The idea is great but this product just doesn’t accomplish its task well. Both the bag cutter and the sealer are disappointing. The heating element is either too hot or not hot enough. For a product with such a simple purpose I shouldn’t have to practice to use the device. And frankly after practicing still doesn’t work well even with good hand technique. I only used maybe 3 times.

This is great for sealing small bags of spices, nuts, etc but does not perform well on larger bags like chips. It seems to tear the larger bags or not fully seal but with smaller bags you have more control over the sealer. I primarily needed this to seal small items so I'm happy with it for that purpose, had I ordered it for sealing large chip or cracker bags I'd likely be disappointed.
