Answer: I cannot answer your question for two reasons. One, I am an ordinary consumer and do not posses a micrometer or other instrument capable of measuring thickness this small. Second, you ask for "mil" which is an abbreviation for milliliter, a unit of volume, not of thickness. If you read the answer of WESTERNPAK, identified as the Seller of the product, you would learn "The thickness of this bags are 300-380/80 um", whatever that means. My answer is that the bags are the same thickness as the bags that came with my "Food Saver" equipment, and very adequate.

Answer: I have used these in my NutriChef PKVS18 and find that I have the best results using a 1-inch thick piece of board in front of the machine and loading the bags with the smooth side up. Also, if the first try goes on for too long, turn it off and bring the bag further towards you. Hope this helps!

I've been using a Foodsaver for years to vacuum seal items for freezing or for use in my sous vide. I've always purchased bags or rolls from Foodsaver directly, specifically the game saver bags, as I find they both seal better and retain the seal better than the lighter bags. The downside is the expense... they're quite expensive. I'm not particularly crazy about this vacuum sealer and was browsing for alternatives when I came across these bags.
I ordered the package containing 50 each of the pint, quart and gallon sizes. That's 150 bags for less than I would typically spend for 40 of the name brand bags. I've used each of these and I find them to be heavy duty like the gamesaver bags. I also find that they seal better in my Foodsaver than the brand name bags.
I would highly recommend these regardless of price... the fact that they're much less expensive is a total boon.

These bags are easy to use and seal beautifully. I use these bags with a Koios vacuum sealer it is not an expensive sealer with bells and whistles. These bags have a clear and a textured side fill your bag and I have filled these to their maximum with full loaves of bread and seal your bag. Even full these bags seal tight and stay sealed. The clear side is up when in the machine. The amount of headroom needed is minimal as long as the bag extends into the sealer. I will buy and use more of these bags. The meat I have previously sealed is bright pink and red and frozen solid.
