Why can’t you answer the thickness of these bags in mil? That makes me think these are thin bags.

Answer: I cannot answer your question for two reasons. One, I am an ordinary consumer and do not posses a micrometer or other instrument capable of measuring thickness this small. Second, you ask for "mil" which is an abbreviation for milliliter, a unit of volume, not of thickness. If you read the answer of WESTERNPAK, identified as the Seller of the product, you would learn "The thickness of this bags are 300-380/80 um", whatever that means. My answer is that the bags are the same thickness as the bags that came with my "Food Saver" equipment, and very adequate.

My nutrichef pkvs20sts does not vacuum these bags. any suggestions?

Answer: I have used these in my NutriChef PKVS18 and find that I have the best results using a 1-inch thick piece of board in front of the machine and loading the bags with the smooth side up. Also, if the first try goes on for too long, turn it off and bring the bag further towards you. Hope this helps!

Answer: I have tried several generic products. None of them compare to foodsaver bags. Foodsaver bags never leak. All the generic bags will have some bags that fail. It's the "price" you pay for the cost savings. Most generic products are at least half the cost of foodsaver bags.

Not sure how I feel about these, as the ones we got were a little defective. Imagine taking a plastic bag and trying to puncture a hole through it - thereby stretching it - and then stopping. The set that got delivered to me was chock full of them and have unfortunately created issues for us sealing the bag. We have found some workarounds with them. IF I got them in pristine condition, I'm sure they'd work great and I would have a different opinion. As of right now, however, I will not be reodering these.

I typically buy the out of air brand bags but they were out of stock for a couple of months and I needed bags so I tried these. They said heavy duty and had good reviews but I have been very disappointed. If you are trying to seal something with no fluids/juice they might work fine but they have been unable to properly seal anything with juice. I have resealed my chicken twice with 3 times more head space than necessary but the bags aren't sealing correctly and the vacuum is only holding for 2 or 3 minutes

These bags are easy to use and seal beautifully. I use these bags with a Koios vacuum sealer it is not an expensive sealer with bells and whistles. These bags have a clear and a textured side fill your bag and I have filled these to their maximum with full loaves of bread and seal your bag. Even full these bags seal tight and stay sealed. The clear side is up when in the machine. The amount of headroom needed is minimal as long as the bag extends into the sealer. I will buy and use more of these bags. The meat I have previously sealed is bright pink and red and frozen solid.

A : Works, good price for amount, but too large to fit inside foodsaver machine

I purchased these to use with a Foodsaver machine. I like the amount vs cost. The quality is not as good as name brand, but they still do the job. Biggest negative, the rolls are so large in circumference that they do not fit inside the machine. You must measure, cut and seal the create the initial bag from the outside of the machine, or backwards, until nearly half of the roll is used. Other than the inconvenience of the size, the amount you get vs the cost makes it worth getting.
