Questions about FoodSaver 31161370 Cordless Food Vacuum Sealer, Handheld
Q:
Is the black handheld 31161370 vacuum sealer compatible with sealing mason / kerr jars?
Answer: Hello, Mac this Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. No, the black handheld Vacuum sealer is not compatible with the sealing mason/jars.
Answer: Excellent question! Our FoodSaver® V1100 is compatible with all of our mason jar sealers. Simply remove the bottom liquid chamber of the unit to reveal a nozzle that fits with our jar sealer accessory.
Answer: THIS model (31161370) IS compatible with sealing mason/kerr jars! The model FS1110 is the one that does not. I know this the hard way. When I read the other comments from Foodsaver Care I thought I ordered the wrong one. I was thinking I had to return it once I received it from Amazon. Went to Target and bought the FS1110. Turns out that's the one that does have the tip for the jar.
Answer: The circular sealer is made to fit the circular spot on the quart & gallon plastic Foodsaver bags. I don’t know how you could use it on a mason jar.
Answer: I use the vacuum sealer for foods that I freeze or put in the fridge which I absolutely love. Its fast never have freezer burn on any of my food and in the fridge it last longer. I like that I can open the bag and take out what I want and then reseal it again. I did canning for years and Mason jars take up room both when full or empty and are more work.
Q:
Will this unit work with wet ingredients? Such as marinate on meat or for freezing soups?
Answer: Freeze first and vacuum seal afterwards
Answer: Not with the zip bags. It will pull the juices up and Interfere with sealing. But if you have mason jars & lids, also get the jar sealers. This works well with them as well as the food saver containers.
Answer: If you are using ZIP bags, you will have to clean the unit (soap and water with the removable part) and wipe the base unit clean (do not submerge the whole unit in any liquid). It can be a pain - however - the benefits far outweigh the little bit of cleanup. And much easier to use than the attachment on many of the larger Food Saver units.
Answer: Yes. Just be careful and go slow. Marinate will actually work much better
Answer: You can use something like a board to stop liquids from coming up. It will stop most of the liquid from getting inside the vacuum.
Answer: Yes but you need to not let to much liquid in reservoir then drain and clean after use
Q:
Which containers work with this small unit?
Answer: Hello, this is Marcin from Foodsaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. The appliance is compatible with all FoodSaver vacuum zipper bags FoodSaver fresh vacuum seal food containers and FoodSaver accessories.
Answer: i have used wide mouth jars and small mouth jars with the food saver lids, with know problems other than cealing powder items...but there are ways around this on utube
Answer: Hello, this is Gosia from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370 Cordless Food Vacuum Sealer. This is compatible with all FoodSaver vacuum zipper bags and FoodSaver Fresh vacuum seal containers. Thank you, FoodSaver Care
Q:
is the battery Li-Ion? Will it charge deplete quickly like the old one if unused for a a week or two?
Answer: I have used several times for small packages (pint size) before plugging back in.
Q:
To work w Food Saver vacuum containers, does this need an attachment like the oval adapter needed w the older model?
Answer: Yes it works with the old containers - no adapter needed. The new shape is a circle, but is larger & completely fits over the old oval shape. I have had no problem using the new hand held with my old containers!
Answer: No it doesn’t. On the bottom of the unit is a round plastic adapter for the bags. Simply take that off and the port in the bottom of the unit works perfectly for most of my containers with the exception of the small cheese containers which does need the adapter in order to seal them.
Answer: It appears to me that you need to get the newer version containers which utilize a round valve to work with this new hand held unit will not work on older oval valve containers
Answer: I don’t know . I have only used the bags. Sorry!
Q:
Anyone have issues with the bag filling up with air after sealing?
Answer: After quite a number of uses, a bag may take in some air. I have assumed that such a bag has been damaged by use and discard it.
Answer: Over time - like any zipper bag - it may lose a little bit of the seal. I 'zip' mine up - then lay them on a hard surface and run my finger or a pan scraper I have over the zipper part to make sure there is a good seal. If you have one that 'kinda leaks' a little over time, check it every 3-4 days and redo. Not holding the vacuum - discard and get a new one.
Answer: Never. Be sure to use a quality bag. I use the food saver bag from Amazon. Work great.
Answer: Works well for me
Answer: none
Q:
Are these bags safe to use in the freezer?
Answer: The FoodSaver package of bags says "not intended for liquids or freezer". I specifically bought this bag sealer and bags for freezer use. Nowhere in advertising of these bags ANYWHERE (even on the FoodSaver site) can you find it stated not for freezer use. It's only AFTER you receive the bags and read it on the back of the package. I have used a lot of these bags (quart and gallon) for freezing meats so far and they have worked great! None of my seals have broken. I haven't reused any of the bags yet so don't know if they'll work a second time around.
Answer: I would think for short turm use like a couple of weeks, but for long term use i would wrap in freezer paper or brown paper bags to prevent freezer burn
Answer: I use them in the freezer all the time.
Answer: I do and have had no problem
Answer: Yes
Q:
What kind of battery does this have?
Answer: The battery is not removable. It’s rechargeable and it comes with a charging dock. But on the unit it says it’s a 4 volt dc, .8 amp battery.
Q:
The unit is not charging. please someone give me detailed instructions on charging. thank you
Answer: Looks like you have a bad unit. The vacuum sealer charges facing forward, backward, sideways, in every direction. I would return that item and get a new one.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Make sure the charging unit is plugged in and that the handheld Sealer is placed tightly down into the charger and allowed enough time to acquire a charge.
Answer: Make sure the two prongs on the back of the unit when plugged into the charger. If the indicator light dosen't light up, then make sure it's connected to a power source.
Answer: Well, I had the same thing happen and called food saver and got another charger. It did not work. They then told me the unit was shot so I threw it away. Oh well. Good luck.
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: Make sure it is pushed all the way in to its base you should see the light start to Flash
Q:
Manufacturer, please would you make a larger than gallon bag?
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our products. Thank you for your suggestion, we will pass it on to the appropriate department. Have a great day!
Answer: The food saver did not work. I returned it. .. piece of junk ...
Q:
what kind of rechargeable batteries does this have and are they easily replaceable? The original model had batteries that would go back very quick
Answer: Hello, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. The battery is not replaceable, but rechargeable instead.
Answer: I am not aware of the ability to replace the internal battery pack. Regarding battery life, I have been using mine on a regular basis for over 6 months and have charged it twice when it seemed to slow down a little. With a full charge - I get 2 to 2 1/2 months of use (probably 20-30 seals on bags, containers, marinator). As for replacing the battery - I suggest checking with FoodSaver Customer Service - or if you have a nearby Batteries and Bulbs - they might know.
Answer: There is no way to replace the battery, but the product does give instructions to only charge when needed, once every 6 months to maintain battery life. It also has a 1 year warranty.
Answer: The sealer unit is cordless. It sits in a charger that is plugged in. This unit is very quiet as compared with the older models.
Answer: I don't know what kind of batteries it takes I've never tried to open it to find out
Answer: i dont think they are replaceable, I cant see any way to open up the unit.
Q:
Does this device come with a warranty?
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: I'm sorry, I did not look for a warranty, but it is still going strong a near year later.
Q:
Mine stopped working after 3 uses.
Answer: I don't know why yours stopped working after 3 uses. I use mine a lot! I just leave it plugged in on the kitchen counter and as long as the light is green I know it's ready to go. Did you perhaps keep pressing after it got all the air out? I don't know if that would harm it in any way. But just a thought! When the sound on my changes to a deeper sound than when I start I know it's time to stop, or at least that's what I do and the bag is always completely sealed. Good luck!
Answer: Mine has worked perfectly with no problems. Are you sure you fully charged it. It takes something like 16 hours. The number of hours is in the directions.
Answer: Not a question. Is it charging ? Is the light coming on ? Have used ours dozens of times.
Q:
When using this with the mason jar Foodsaver attachment, how do you tell when the vacuum process is complete? The countertop vacuum sealers auto stop
Answer: The change in tone is my first clue then I disengage and test lid to verify jar is sealed. I enjoy that this little compact version fits in my travel canning bag to show friends how invaluable I find it. I no longer loan it, when a friend wants to borrow it, I generally get a good visit and free lunch!
Answer: The unit does not stop on it's own. That is a downside. You should be able to tell a difference in the sound of the vacuum and when the tone gets low, it should be done. Hope this helps.
Answer: You will hear it start speeding up. I think a jar takes approximately 20-30 sec. some good you tube videos on this.
Q:
Where can I order bags?
Answer: Hello, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. This appliance is only compatible with zipper bags and you get them directly with us on our website or through retailers such as Amazon.
Answer: order any brand name on amazon. all brands have worked for me, I dont use food saver bags
Answer: At Amazon, reusable vacuum bags for Su-vid
Answer: Amazon, Cabelas. Bas pro shop.
Answer: Right from Amazon-all sizes
Q:
Can anyone from the manufacturer confirm that this is Li-ion? Otherwise I would assume it should not be left on the charger.
Answer: Hello, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. Yes, this model contains lithium-ion battery.
Answer: I keep mine on charger but only plug it in if it needs a charge...????
Answer: I leave mine on the charger
Answer: I leave mine in charger. Have to research your concern. I understand the item is no longer available. Also bags jumped up in price to point I'd think twice about buying. By the way works great. I use mainly to freeze meats.
Answer: This did not pull air out efficiently and needed to recharge after each use, I would not recommend it .
Q:
has any one tried to use this pump with the space saver - vacuum storage bags?
Answer: Hello,
Q:
Does this work with the mason jar attachment?
Answer: I do not think so. But mine food saver and jar attachment are old. I plug one end of the jar attachment hose into the food saver and the other onto the jar attachment I put on top of jar.
Answer: The second video after the product pictures which is specifically for accessory usage shows that it does
Q:
My previous two units of the older model stop holding power after couple of months of usage, do they did something to improve that?
Answer: I had a previous older model for years. I decided to get this one as it was a little smaller. This one is very quiet when powering the bag.
Answer: This is different then my previous handheld and so far so good but I've only owned this model for a few months. It's more convenient than the other. I hope this help, I do like this one better and it is easier to recharge.
Answer: The one I have has been working fine for several months.
Q:
Can this be used with space bags for clothes?
Answer: Hello,
Answer: Hello, this is Marcin from Foodsaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. Appliance can only be used with Foodsaver approved products.
Answer: Afraid it MIGHT not be that powerful. It's very small, but does excellent job on small bags
Q:
Where is the FoodSaver manufactured?
Answer: Hello, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. All of our products are manufactured in China.
Answer: There is no information on the vacuum itself. But, the power supply that is permanently attached to the vacuum cradle says “made in China”. So far it has worked great and it’s very convenient to use.
Answer: Very simple ANSWER: CHINA
Answer: No idea but it’s great !
Q:
Does I come with oz bags
Answer: Hello,
Answer: It comes with a charger to go cordless and does not come with bags
Answer: It does come with a couple bage. I really like this sealer. I I’d it all the time. Recommend
Answer: Yes, it comes with gallon & quart size samples. You will need to purchase more.
Answer: Mine came with a few sandwich size bags- you will have to buy other bags separately.
Answer: I think it came with 3 bags. I don’t quite understand what you mean by oz bags. This is meant for things like cheese, luncheon meat or leftovers. Things can be remove and bags resealed. I love this product and use it constantly. I did buy more bags. This doesn’t replace a regular Food Saver. I still use that to freeze foods.
Answer: I believe mine came with 4 quart-sized bags. I purchased extra gallon and quart bags as well.
Answer: Yes with a sample of bags.
Answer: I came with 3 zip lock lock bags
Answer: You need to buy them
Q:
where is the accessory port ? I cannot find it. I am trying to use the Mason jar attachment.
Answer: The clear plastic piece on the bottom of the unit comes off - the port is now visible.
Q:
Are there bigger bags than 1 galón or that’s the Maximina size
Answer: Hi, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. Yes, the 1 galon sized bags are the maximum size that this unit is compatible with.
Answer: Hi, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. Yes, the 1 galon sized bags are the biggest bags compatible with this unit.
Answer: I have only seen quart and 1 gallon bags to use for this device. For food, you can find bigger vacuum bags for use with the normal vacuum sealer. For clothing, towels, etc., there are 3 gallon bags you use with your vacuum cleaner that reduces the size for your closet.
Answer: I don't know. I am single and only need the quart size.
Answer: The gallon is the largest I've seen. They are washable if you're careful to keep the zip seal really clean!
Answer: not that I know of just quart and gallon
Answer: Only quart and gallon
Q:
I find that it's not working well with FoodSaver fresh vacuum seal food containers, it took a long time and won't stop, agree?
Answer: Hello,
Answer: I found that if the instrument is not in exactly the correct position on a flat surface, it won’t work. If it’s completely flat , it works better. Also, try expressing most of the air before you try to seal .
Answer: I have been using for a short time and it works great. The not stopping part I find is true. The first couple times it did stop automatic. Now I watch till it appears no more air can be removed and stop. It is powerful considering the size. Real issue is how the price for bags has greatly increased. Unless price goes down I won't be using in the future. Fortunately I stocked up when price was lower but did have to wait for backorders.
Q:
Trying to understand how these work... so you must have special containers or bags to use this, right?
Answer: Hello,
Answer: I have not used mine yet but yes you do need to use special bags. the bags are resealable but have a little circle on them where you can use the vacuum sealer to remove the air. You can open the bag at the top, use however much you want, then reseal the bag for later.
Answer: Yes, there are both bags and containers that are specially made to work with the vacuum sealer. The bags have a zip strip across the top and a small suction port that the sealer fits into. Regular plastic bags obviously won't work.
Answer: Yes, you need special bags with the circle where you place the sealer to evacuate the air. Although the bags are a little expensive, you can use them each over & over again. I don’t know what I would do without the vacuum sealer!
Answer: There are special bags. There’s a little valve at the corner that this device fits over and extracts the air through. If you press most of the air out before you zip the bag, it seals a lot quicker. You can buy the bags on Amazon, but I have also seen them at Target for a comparable price
Answer: To answer question the answer is yes ,on bags. How it operates instead of inflating the bags it deflates and removes all the air in bag causing a vacuum .That is a simple explanation. Hope this helps .For your information my wife says that it works very good and easy to use
Answer: Not special, I buy them at food saver
Answer: Yes, special bags.
Answer: Yes u have to have special bags they make them
Answer: Yes.

Answer:
Answer: I have reviewed the bags and don’t like them for fresh food because of exactly what you are experiencing!
Answer: I use this product (the vacuum and the bags) every day.
Answer: I don't think you can. Try to make sure you have good bags before you seal. I haven't found a way unless ti use vac machine with a heat seal.
Answer: You must make sure the strip at the top is entirely closed. Go over it a few times with your fingers. Sometimes the little round plastic piece at the vacuum point becomes defective over time, especially when the bag is reused several times. Those bags won't last forever.
Answer: Perhaps the zip lock bag isn't zipped tight? I've found out that you can't have any liquid/food residue where you zip it closed. I've not had that problem ... it works just as they say for me.
Answer: I have been using this food saver sealer for a long time and have not had this problem
Answer: Are you using it properly, I have not had this problem at all. You have to make sure the ziplocking is secure
Q:
Does it work on 220v?
Answer: I’m not an electrician but I can tell you that you can definitely get an adapter for it. I needed an adapter to turn American plug into a Japanese plug and I bought it online and it worked fine. So yes you could definitely do it you just got a find the adapter. Hope that house van. Vince
Answer: I believe intended for 110v
Answer: No
Q:
Reviews seem mixed. Many stopped working after short time. Does this come with any manufacturer warranty?
Answer: Hello Emily, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. Yes, all our appliances have a warranty which is 2 years in general.
Answer: Hello Emily, This is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. All our appliances have a 2 Years warranty.
Answer: I was told that the bags you use could be washed and reused; they are pricy. I washed a couple and used beef with beef and chicken with chicken. When I used the beef a second time the Food Saver sucked in liquid from the steak into the Food Saver itself. I eventually got it drained out and now I use the bags just the one time. I think the hole the Saver makes in the bag is the problem. That's okay, I use only once and it works well. I did turn this problem into the mfgr and Amazon but got no results or responses. I'm still using with no problems so far.
Q:
Does it work with these bags? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b07k3vqs3s/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=utf8&psc=1
Answer: I don't know. My frig condenser was just replaced yesterday. Have not purchased bulk food in last month. Sorry!
Q:
will this work with savesealer bags
Answer: Hello,
Answer: Doubt it. I recently both the vacuum sealer just before the FoodSaver bags jumped up in price. I like the vacuum and use the bags I did buy in a select way.
Answer: No just with Food Saver bags
Answer: I only have used Food Saver bags
Answer: I hadn’t heard of seals or until you asked the question so I looked SS up. It is smaller and the bag hole is smaller so I would guess so but don’t know. One thing about the FoodSaver, it loses power if it isn’t plugged in all the time. But it charges quickly.
Answer: I know it works with FoodSaver brand bags; I haven't heard of save sealer bags. Sorry
Q:
does this work with canisters ?
Answer: Well the answer is a qualified yes or no. It will if the canister is configured to receive this vacuum pump directly. If not then you have to be creative. For instance, the bottom portion of the device is removable revealing a small round inlet to the vacuum pump . It you take a standard Foodsaver vacuum hose and remove one end the hose will fit over the vacuum inlet. Then it can be used to pull a vacuum in those containers. This same technique will work for the Foodsaver adapter for pulling vacuum on standard canning jars.
Answer: This food saver is a piece of junk .. I could not get it to work at all. It was returned for refund.
Answer: Hello, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver!
Answer: It's designed to work with the food saver bags.
Answer: I don’t think so, but they do also work with Ziplock vacuum bags.
Answer: No it does not. It comes with a plug in charger and it works wonderfully.

Answer: Hello, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contact us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. The type of battery is lithium.
Answer: It is not user-replaceable. The battery is recharged when you place it back on the stand. When you buy the vacuum pump the first thing you have to do is charge it for about24 hours before first use.

Answer: I really don't know, it's locked and seald inside

Can this be used with the mason jar attachment to seal with mason wide mouth jars
Answer: Hello Jennifer, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. No, this is Item is not compatible with the mason jar attachment.
Answer: Yes. I use this exclusively for sealing Mason jars with the attachment. It's no substitute for actual canning but it makes items like my salsa stay fresher longer. You can hear the air rush in when you open the jars.
Answer: Be honest, I didn't have the chance to make things with it, it's stopped after 2 times
Q:
How do I get the hose that attaches to the food saver wide mouth sealer and this foodsaver handheld vaccume sealer?
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hi, I am Sharmin from FoodSaver care team. Thank you for contacting us regarding FoodSaver Handheld vacuum sealer. I am afraid that there is no option to attached the hose in the chargeable Food Vacuum Sealer.
Answer: You go online and buy another food saver hose. When you receive it takeoff one end. Then you can thread that end over the vacuum inlet.
Answer: No hose is needed. The bottom of this is like the hosed attachment on your unit. This has its own built in vacuum pump. Very handy. I have the older unit which is much bigger. Both work well on the resealable vac bags.
Answer: There is no hose, it is placed over and held down on the circle hole directly then press the button on the top until all the air is pumped out.
Answer: The video on line does not show them using a tube when using it on the container. I do not use the containers only the bags.
Q:
How do you make it work with old deli containers?
Answer: Not sure you can if those containers don’t have the “valve” needed to attach the sealer.
Answer: The containers would need a vacuum valve built into it.
Answer: You can’t.
Q:
Can you use the bags in an Instant Pot for sous vide cooking?
Answer: They say yes
Q:
Help! Humid here & dehydrated fruit gets moldy if not refrigerated: what's best FoodSaver for long-term pantry storage of dehydrated fruit & tomatoes?
Answer: I'm not sure just starting my expirence with 31161370 foodsaver, so far it seals great, i'm also using oxygen absorbers, and i am using with the wide mouth and small mouth FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer FCARWJAH-000 Wide-Mouth Jar Kit . The only thing I noticed is that make sure jars lids are clean, and wipe the mouth of the jars clean with distilled vinegar. As I had some of my seals pop open after being sealed, and the rim of my jar had gotton some of jar content on it an interupted a good seal.
Answer: This works with the canning jars lid adapters. The jars will prevent crushing your dehydrated fruit. The best part is that it all is reusable. No single use plastics at all.
Answer: The counter top models and cut-to-size bags make the best long term storage options. Depending on what "long-term" storage means, the cut and seal work best but if you plan to use go in and out of the bags, the handheld unit, zip lock reusable or plastic contains work best
Q:
What is the mAh of the battery? I just want to know how much charge it will hold.
Answer: It doesn't indicate mAh on the unit. It is made by Intertek Model FS1110. 4.0Vdc 0.8A. It's charging base provides continuous charging. I have vac sealed 3-4 quart bags with no problem. This unit is smaller & appears to be more powerful than a previous hand held unit I have.
Answer: I don't know what it is but whatever it is it's not sufficient to vacuum out the air
Q:

Answer: Your right. Bad product, after two times it stops working and could do anything, so I open it and fix it, found that even a small amount of steam, make the vacuum pump to stop, dry it and now it working
Q:
does this work with older food saver containers? For instance the marinater and the 4 quart storage container?
Answer: Hello Kaylee, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver 31161370. This appliance is compatible with all our containers.
Answer: I don't think it will, specifically stated not to use for liquids. If it helps I only use it for pre-frozen foods and fresh veggies.
Answer: Hello KayLee, this is Salumu from Foodsaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our Foodsaver 31161370. Yes, it compatible, you only have to remove the Reservoir.
Answer: Hello. I don’t believe this works with the marinater
Answer: YES it does; I tried it myself! But it does NOT appear to work with the clear cylinders that have the off white tops.
Q:
whats the voltage? can be used internationally?
Answer: Not sure if you would need to buy an adapter for European use.
Q:
Are there FoodSaver bags that are smaller than a quart and if so can they be used with this appliance?
Answer: This sealer works with FoodSaver vacuum zipper bags, which only come in quart and gallon sizes. If you buy a standard size sealer, you can make bags to whatever size you need. I had one for over a year but found I only used these pre-made zipper bags, so I got rid of the big machine and use this small sealer instead. I see non-FoodSaver brand zipper bags, but I don't see any options for smaller than a quart.
Answer: Apparently not. I do not see any smaller than a quart. But there are some quart bags that can be used with this appliance and they are reusable.
Answer: Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question!
Answer: I haven’t seen any smaller bags. You can also use Ziplock vacuum bags, as well as the FoodSaver. Ziplock bags have a round spot where you place the vacuum, plus they are available at Walmart and less expensive.
Answer: I bought this to vacuum pack jars. Whatever bags you buy have to have that specialty made vacuum port, which I will never buy. So good luck finding them.
Answer: This food saver is a piece of junk.Does not work, don't order or get a refund
Answer: Not that I know of
Q:
Is this dual voltage
Answer: 110 v
Answer: Not really sure what you are asking, but it comes with a charger for a 120v outlet.
Q:
can bags be reused?
Answer: Yes. I wash and reuse mine all the time.
Answer: I’m sorry, I can not. This was a birthday gift and I have never even seen it.
Q:
Is the charger compatible with 220V 220v?
Answer: Hello, this is Filip from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver Cordless Food Vacuum Sealer. The charger is only compatible with 110V.
Answer: Yep

I didn't know if I would like this vacuum but so many of my friends said how great a product this was, so I tried it. I like it...! The bags are a bit pricy but you can wash them out and use again. I write on the front so when I reuse I only put meat with meat and fish with fish and I wash very well. This small hand held is also easier to store.
Joaquin : Works as intended. Battery is not replaceable.
Works as intended, hopefully it will continue to work for a long time. I only regret that the battery is not replaceable once it no longer takes charge. I dislike products that have to go to the landfill after their rechargeable batteries no longer charge, for this reason I have taken off one star. Why don't manufacturers use AA rechargeable batteries on their device? To save one dollar?
Fillrock : Waste not...........
This simple accessory for my kitchen is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to saving money on food. Instead of getting the food saver out, I can just use this little magic appliance to quickly seal many foods to make them last longer. Cookies taste like they just came out of the oven a week later!
Sango : It Sucks
Bought this to vacuum pack my greens in jars. It really actually makes them last longer. Took me awhile to figure out and ruined the tubing that came with the vacuum lids. To use this with the vacuum lids, take off the clear plastic thing on the bottom, and stick the vacuum port directly into the vacuum lid. The tubing does not fit on this piece and is not needed. Listen to the sound to know when to remove the sealer. I let it go high pitched and as soon as the sound starts to lower I stop. Haven't had any troubles with either the large or small lids unless the lid was dented. Very happy with my purchase!
Determiner of all Things : Works well with canning jars!
There was conflicting information about whether this product can seal a canning jar lid on a Ball or Kerr brand mason jar, but I purchased it anyway since I couldn't find the older style in stock anywhere. It DOES work to seal the canning jar lids, as long as you have the correct size attachment (small mouth or wide mouth) that fits over the flat lid on the jar. These can be purchased on Amazon if you search for "FoodSaver Regular Sealer and Accessory Hose Wide-Mouth Jar Kit." Before I purchased this, I was hauling out my foodsaver (off brand), attaching the plastic hose on the foodsaver at one end and the jar attachment cover at the other end and using the dry "vacuum and seal" button, which was a pain. Now I keep the cordless vacuum sealer in the charger and grab it with the lid attachment and take them to where my jar is. After removing the bottom plastic portion of the sealer, the round tab fits directly into the jar lid attachment. It's so much simpler and saves me time and hassle! I haven't used up a full charge yet.
MARIE : very disappointed
I'm so disappointed. I got this because it doesn't take up much space but when I got it , it doesn't work. :(

Brice Plouse : Serves my purpose with the right meat care
I bought this to be able to use while hunting/fishing since it can easily be charged with an inverter in your vehicle outlet. Thus far it has worked with smaller games after cleaning and damping the meat dry. Now just have to hit the waters to see how it does with fish.
Paul D. Jones : Missing Parts
You have 3 parts. The unit, the charging base, and the cord. It shows up without the charging base. So is it an honest mistake or on purpose? Sketchy at best!
Eliot : Good while it worked...
Looks like I made it 3 months. Lights up green as if charging but otherwise dead. It never had GREAT suction but it was fine for the job without taking up a lot of space.
PrimeShopper : Finally! A device that works with my mason jar attachments!
The attachment that is supposed to work with the mason jars does not. I have tried several of them. THIS device does work, quickly and easily. You need to purchase the large and small jar toppers separately, but jars are reusable and I even reuse the flat lids over and over after running them thru the dishwasher. They hold their seal fine. It is not like a canning lid that was sealed by heat.
Dana J. : BIG FAIL!
This product worked great - for about 3 weeks. I was only able to use it three times before it just stopped working. Calling Foodsaver was a joke! They tried their best to make it hard to return or get your money back. I had to repeat everything at least 4 times, the same information. I wanted a replacement, but they don’t have this model any more according to April at Foodsaver. You have to have your receipt (thank you Amazon), take a pic of it, and send it to them. Oh, be sure to get the number off of the prong on the plug (might want to get your magnifying glass out so you can read it). They can’t just credit your credit card, so they will have you mail the product back to them after they send you a label. They give you a case number, Then it is 4-6 weeks before they credit your account. I felt as though they purposely made it difficult. Will post when I get the refund. 9/14/21.
Krassimire B Gueorguiev : Stopped working within 2 months
It is a great product while it works, just the right size for me. I am giving it 1 star not mostly because it broke - that is ok, things break... I'm giving it 1 star because of the customer support - this product comes with 1 year warranty, I have opened a ticket, 2+ weeks have passed already and very little to no help from the support... Looks like they have a manual they are going through - and they don't even check what device we are talking about - steps given to me do not even apply for their handheld devices... It's been now 2 weeks since their last email with totally useless troubleshooting steps and my response to that - and no answer, and I'm still left with a completely dead device... I have had several FoodSaver handheld sealers over the years, and have been happy with the products overall, but that customer support experience has been very disappointing.
Michael Davis : Great device
I don't have room on my condo counter for a food saver system. This works just as well although you have to buy the special bags. Just what I needed.
SKirilov : Excellent product, very handy but with bad quality
I love the product so far - very handy for quickly vacuuming small and large bags without having to pull out the big FoodSaver unit I have. Easy to use - I used it few times every day.
My only problems and I consider as a production defect: the docking station is missing one of the rubber legs. Now it's not staying in a stable way but it's tilted and uneven.
That's the reason I'm giving the product 4 starts instead of 5
HoosierD : For those with little space
I have limited space in my house, and needed a vacuum sealer. This thing fit the bill and I couldn't be happier. Keep your eyes open for zipper bags on sale and this is also a cheap alternative to a full sealer. I have yet to toss a bag due to damage.
Nicky : Easy to use...
Perfect. I have the larger machine and I always have to pull out of the cabinets to suck the air out of the bags. I just got this today, charge, and was able to use. Love that it sits on my counter!
CStephens : Love for dry goods
I use this, along with the mason jar attachments, to store dry goods in large mason jars and it works great! I keep it charged in the corner of my kitchen so that it's ready when needed.
Catherine Good : It handy in I pinch
This is helpful to me because I have the foodsaver 5800 and it has a retractable suction apparatus. With this I can move about on my counter to use.
LaKeshia Thomas : Stopped working abruptly!!
It worked fine when it did work.Product stopped working in less than two months. It wouldnt suction or come on at all even after being on charger for days. I'm unable to reach someone in customer service to help me.
Darren Gossler : Almost perfect.
Bought this because the auxiliary function of my full size FoodSaver sealer stopped working. The initial charge took a long time, but it's also lasted a long time since, so I consider that wash. The unit and charger and very compact and easily fit in my kitchen junk drawer. Does a great job of sealing bags and it's nice that it came with some to boot. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a light or some kind of indicator to let you know that the bags were fully sealed, like the full size versions do.
Kat Dunlap : Good luck finding reasonably priced bags
Don't bother buying this. It works great however getting more bags without paying through the nose is nearly impossible. On the FoodSaver site, there are great bargains but not for online buying. And the bags are offered here for twice the price or more. Very disappointed in this company.
Dave A. : Awesome little unit
Pretty cool little food saver unit. It uses all the Food Saver brand bags, and probably others (I've not tried the other yet though), and the bags are not cheap, so keep that in mind - almost a dollar a bag, so you really want to use them wisely. This unit comes with a few bags included. The charger, and the small sealer - which works surprisingly well (see the video). It works pretty fast too.

Kindle Customer : Saving food.
I am so thankful for this little unit. I live in a small apartment, so a full size food saver is not possible. This works well for me and I love it.
MARIE : very disappointed
I'm so disappointed. I got this because it doesn't take up much space but when I got it , it doesn't work. :(
Christian in Florida : This baby sucks!
I love using this with the fresh saver containers and the fresh saver bags. I can say this baby really sucks! My only complaint would be that it is a little bit on the slow side but the suction power is incredible.
AF : Doesn't Last
I have a regular Foodsaver and decided to get the cordless manual one for small jobs, so I didn't have to take out the big one. First one only lasted a couple of months, they sent me a new one and it has only lasted a couple of months. I don't use that often for it not to work after a couple of months.
Martha Gonzalez : Don’t let size fool you
Little but quite powerful. Now I can buy at Sam’s and Costco and not worry about food going bad.
Nadine : Works Great!
I didn't think such a little device would work so well but it does! It sits right on my counter without taking up too much space and is so handy when I need to bag something and put it in the freezer. You do need to use the ziploc bags made specifically for it with the little suction circle at the top of the bag. I've read some reviews here though that you can reuse the bags. I haven't gotten to that point yet, but I have saved the bags I've used and will try and reuse them when needed.
Christina : Perfect for my kitchen
Please realize that this is not going to work as well as a full sized Vacuum Sealer. I love it. I don't have room for my full sized Vacuum Sealer and I have to get it out of the box to use it therefore I never use it. This little gadget fits on the counter, out of the way, and I've used it several times. I got the quart sized bags and that has been fine for now. It has saved my bacon, literally!
Catherine Good : It handy in I pinch
This is helpful to me because I have the foodsaver 5800 and it has a retractable suction apparatus. With this I can move about on my counter to use.
Gerry Acura : Great handheld bag sealer at a great price
I have been using the handheld vacuum adapter built into my vacuum sealer. However, after much use it tends to break. Adding this Handheld suction device makes using the refillable bags quite easy to do. Also the price is low enough that you would be foolish not to buy this. It works great.

Madiam : It worked while it lasted.
It was good while it worked.. But then stopped working. I probably got 20 to 30 uses out of it I called to talk to someone before placing a review, but no one is available

Nellie : Detalles
Clint : Only worked one time
Only worked the first time. A few weeks later I went to use it and... nothing. The first time, when it did work, I was impressed with it. Too bad it isn't durable.
Peggy Dean : Not worth the money
Little suction, when doing several bags, compared to last years model, took too long, didn’t stay charged
Krassimire B Gueorguiev : Stopped working within 2 months

Eliot : Good while it worked...
Looks like I made it 3 months. Lights up green as if charging but otherwise dead. It never had GREAT suction but it was fine for the job without taking up a lot of space.
Ruth Montgomery : Vacuuming you will enjoy
I used the original handheld sealer and didn't care for it. Then I tried the Food Saver Cordless Food Vacuum Sealer and it is really improved and much quieter. It rests on a charger so you don't have to worry about having to be near an outlet. It has a green light when charged so is easy to find even if it is tucked away in a dark corner. If I use it for something like lettuce (put a paper towel in the bag) that I may open only once or twice, vacuum away. I buy a big bag of dry cat food, break it down into the regular vacuum seal bags and put one portion into the double track zipper bags. They weren't staying sealed for very long because they were being opened and resealed multiple times a day. The trick was to use the vacuum sealer for a few seconds at a time until sealed. Hardly takes any extra time. Cats and dogs don't like stale food any more than we do. Now they eat the food all the way to the last bite as if it were from a new bag. Works great for people food, too. It is also very easy to clean when necessary. I've even been able to use it on other brand zipper bags. Good for traveling for things you want to keep dry, make-up etc. Great product and money saver.
Dustin Martin : Lasted only 2 WEEKS! Disappointed. DO NOT BUY!
When this product worked it was very easy to use and did great..with some exceptions. If the bag had any liquid in it (at all... no, not soup or anything, just some bacon) then the machine would attempt to suck the liquid through the vaccuum hole and would not suck the rest of the air out. The reason this gets a 1 star review is for 2 reasons. Even when the product worked the battery life is abysmal;however after 2 weeks and only 10 uses this thing is dead. It shows a green light when charging but it does activate suction whatsoever when attempting to use. There is a wires handheld version, so I am thinking I will try that one now that I'm stuck with a pile of vaccum bags that have no use at the moment. Very disappointed in the life of this product! Buyer beware this product will not last.
JRM : Good replacement for the older hand held vacuum.
I had the choice of this newer model or a third of the old model. Thought I would give this one a try. It has plenty of power, does the same job as the older, larger model. One thing I do miss is light going off, or green, when it is fully charged. Plug it in to charge it and the light will stay on forever. We use it a good bit and it has never acted like the battery needed charging, but I charge it once in a while any way. Over all it is a great little vacuum, works on all the resealable Food Saver bags. Takes up a lot less counter space over the old models.
Cheryl : Poor choice for $’s
I ordered this item May 26, ‘20 and have used it a few times. Less than 24 times. It worked just fine l loved it however when I tried to use it yesterday afternoon it was dead so I tried to recharge it overnight and this morning still no suction! It’s past time to return so I’m sad to say this item is a very choice to spend you $s on.
DKM : Handy Size and saves money
I liked ours so much I bought one for my both my sister-in-laws. Bags can be washed and used over again. Only have to throw them away when they will no longer seal. My one sister-in-law has a huge garden and bought enough bags for her entire year's crop of corn, squash, tomatoes, etc. Worth the money.
tuk : Small & gets the job done
Very convenient little sealer, I already have the containers, now I don’t have to take out the big sealing machine for the small jobs
Sandra : Should’ve bought the other handheld.
It is smaller than the other handheld but you can’t use it plugged in. Suction is not as fast or good. Won’t do very many bags without dieing out.
Alison I. Smith : Stops working after 2 months.
WAS: Easy to use, kept everything well sealed, compact, affordable.
Now: Won’t work. Stopped after 2 months and 5 days. Won’t buy from here ever again.
I’d give it 0 stars. Just when I need it most during lockdown. Thanks for failing me, Food Saver.
