Does this have a biodegradable escape hatch?

Answer: No but you could buy some cotton rot cord and tie the door closed instead of using the latch to close the trap. Having said that, that should make it compliant with your local regulations.

Are these traps collapsable for storage?

Answer: No.

Can this be used for blue crabs

Answer: I have had reports of people catching crabs, but it was designed for crawfish. We don't know how effective it would be compared to crab traps.

I live in northern Minnesota and decided to go with the best looking/ quality trap I could find. Have only caught one crayfish in this trap but I think it is because of a lack of mud bugs and not the construction of the trap. It is very sturdy and the middle bait trap is very nice

This trap is made for people that care about quality. Even the small details like the bait box are constructed to the same strength as the rest of the trap. I have had traps that cost much less. And like the saying goes "Cheap ain't good and good ain't cheap!" I prefer to buy one item and have it last for years versus buying a bunch of cheap traps over and over again. These traps add to lake fishing fun. I throw them out when I get on the water then pick them up when headed home. The crayfish are delicious to eat. Traps work fantastic. I average 10 crawdads per trap per trip.
