Answer: I don't believe 1 of these would be sufficient for a smoker of that size. Probably would need 2 or 3. Just my thoughts.

Answer: I have lit both ends and it has lasted 6hrs. If you light one end it should last at least 12 hrs. Make sure you light it and let it burn for 2 0r 3 mins before you blow out the flame so it will keep smoking
Answer: I half filled it today for a 4 hrs smoke , still had 30% still to go so I would think 10-12 is possible. Only problem I have is the pellets keep catching fire vs smoking .
Answer: My experience so far is about 5-6 hours, but it could be related to the pellets you use. Of course if it's cold enough outside, you can just leave the meat out there until you get up in the morning.

The pellets keep catching fire instead of smoking. How do I get it to stop doing this?
Answer: Light the pellets from each side on the sides. I use a heat gun but my son in law lights the sides with a lighter. It takes a little longer. Then they will snake the way through the pellets.
Answer: Initially they have to be on fire let them burn for about two or three minutes then blow it out then I’ll smoke for several hours
Answer: If it catches fire I just blow until the flame is gone. Eventually the fire does go out.
Answer: I spray water with a bottle sprayer. Also, don’t fill up to the brim but a little over halfway. You can always add more when it’s almost burned out.

Answer: I suspect not. It works on the principle that the pellets need to be touching each other to perpetuate the fire. With briquettes I don’t think you’re going to have that close enough contact to make it work

Answer: I use this tray to provide smoke for making meat and cheese. I lite it with a propane torch and initially there is some flame. However it quickly dissipates and the smoke will last upwards of 10 hours. I suspect this would be a poor source of heat because it burns so slow
Answer: This style is designed to create little to no heat, aka cold smoke. If you to let the flames burn, the flames might last 10-30 minutes depending on ambient temp and humidity. This cold smoker will not create enough heat to warm the flu of your stove. Very point less to buy as a heat source.

Answer: It works very well with the compressed pellets like Traeger’s..I would imagine that it would also do well using wood chips since all you’re doing is using it as a small portable fireplace..of course, your wood chips should probably be moisten to promote the smoking effect.
Answer: I've had bad luck trying to use chips, unable to control temp. There would be flare ups spiking the temp. The chips would burn really fast and or burn out and not fish burning the whole tray. Pellets are the only way to use this item.
Answer: I have only use this tray with pellets. It works very well to cold smoke. The one thing to be aware of however is to pack the pellets in tightly if there’s space in the way the firewall stop sometimes midstream

This 6" smoker tube looks like the 12" I have and I know it will work just fine for my short smoking needs. Unfortunately in Northern California we have a "Spare the Air" alert on now for months. Not able to use it now.
Riley Anderson : Use a cardboard box
If you want to get into smoking meats, cheeses, fish, etc., get this smoker tray and find a large cardboard box. Place the smoker tray on the ground (outside and on a nonflammable surface), make a perimeter with some bricks/rocks just large enough to support a grill grate or rack from your oven (whatever you have). Fill the tray with pellets, ignite with a propane/butane torch on both ends until the ends are barely glowing. Blow out the flame and place inside your brick circle. put the grate/oven rack on top. Place your fish/meat/cheese/etc. on the rack and cover the whole affair with a large cardboard box. the box doesn't even have to cover the whole thing. Just large enough to cover whatever is actually smoking. Cut a 2" flap at the top of the box to let the heat out if it gets too hot. Stab a thermometer right through the top of the cardboard and monitor your temp.

Ideal for cold or hot smoking. I'm very happy with my purchase. This is an easy product to use. Fired it up, let it burn for 10 minutes, put out the flame, and add it to your grill. I bought it to smoke some brisket. I was skeptical at first with this product, but after tasting the brisket I was surprised at how delicious it came out. It provided smoke for 12 hours on my longest BBQ.

I use this to cold smoke bacon. It generates good smoke and it will burn for about 8 hours or so. It might last longer if you really pack it. I used apple wood pellets. It didn’t generate enough heat to warm my chamber.

About halfway thru the process, my fire went out. I'm sure I did something wrong but just don't know yet. I used it in the bottom of a Big Green Egg and controlled the temp with both upper and lower dampers. To keep the temperature as low as possible, I had both dampers pretty well closed so maybe I need to allow more air flow and instead use ice to keep temp down near the salmon I was smoking. The tray does appear to be well built.

Umm there wasn’t really instructions. Mine didn’t come with a lighter, and a book. I realized if you overheat the starter pellets (in the circle area) the entire tray will burn much faster. Faster as in 2/3 hrs.
Overall I love it, and the flavoring that comes from it is far greater than the smoke tray that came with my electric smoker. It really billows

I got about 2 hours of smoke from the original tray, but the Kaduf tray gave me a full 12 hours. Only inconvenience is that the Kaduf tray has to sit on one of the smoker racks to get full air circulation so smoldering will continue. This necessitates putting a shield over the tray to prevent grease from dropping into it. Takes up a little space in the smoker, but not too significant. None of that minor inconvenience is the "fault" of the tray. Give it a 5.

It works well with both pellets and wood chips. Pellets provide a longer burn, but wood chips provide more intense smoke. We used this to smoke some cheese in our Traeger smoker. It was too hot to use the smoker normally as it would melt the cheese. We cut the cheese into one or two-inch thick slices, put them into the Traeger smoker, used the tube smoker for 1 hour without starting up the Traeger smoker and the cheese came out great! We did let the cheese sit in the fridge for a week or so afterward to let the smoke spread throughout. We are very happy with our purchase.

I bought a pellet smoker tray from Kaduf to smoke some brisket and fish, I smoked for 13 hours, filled the pellet tray with pellets, lit the pellets with a butane torch or you can also use a culinary torch, let the pellets to burn for 10 minutes, then blow up the flame and place pellet smoker in your grill or smoker. The next week I will smoke some cheese.
