Answer: I bought the $10 grips and your are correct, this model comes without a tape and scale. Really enjoying the grips I purchased. Strong hold, smooth operation, and nice hand strap. I'd recommend a flotation buoy of some sort because if you drop them, your out of luck. Hope this helps! -Jon

Ha Ha Ha : Pretty good little fish gripper

Great little fish holder for those that prefer not to touch or stick their fingers in a mouth full of teeth. Got it in the mail today and went straight out and tried it out. Worked like a charm. Gonna keep it in my tackle box for use everytime I go out.

Great product! I am an avid Angler and having a set of fish holders is a must. I purchased these to keep on me for bank fishing, and when I received them I was very pleased. They were the perfect size. I was able to keep them rite on my tackle bag and they wouldn't get in the way. Not to bulky like a friend of mine had. I can actually carry these in my pocket if need be, but I can use a carabiner and clip it on my back and get to fishing. I would recommend this product to all fisherman young and old.

I was in search for a solution to handle some of those hard to land fish like pickerel's. A local spot I fish a lot seems to have lots and lots of monster pickerel and they can be difficult to handle. When they get so big you can't get your hands around them easily, you can try the through the gills and under the jaw grip, but it still puts your fingers pretty near those nasty teeth.

The first day I was fishing with the tool I landed a 23" monster that I was really glad to have that tool handy. It was super easy to use and I think it's probably one of the most valuable tools in my tackle box now. I went with the basic grabber and I couldn't be happier. I didn't think I'd end up using the tape measure or the scale component too much with the other, so I stuck with the more basic grabber.

Works great on large fish, nice not to get slimmed by the fish. Makes it easier to manager hook removal. Would not recommend using it on small pan fish, there skin is too thin.

I've used this gripper a few times now.... mostly on nice size Potomac River catfish and I was not disappointed! It's made of quality material and feels sturdy yet it's comfortable to hold due to the cushioning around the handle. Would recommend this to my friends for sure!
