What spring/ jig head should I use to prevent tearing?

Answer: My favorite jig head is the Dirty Jig Guppy Head. Tackle Warehouse has them.

Answer: I would suggest using a weight offset shank swimbait hook. Berkeley Fusion or Gamakatsu are fairly inexpensive. 4/O or 5/O for 3.8 - 5.8 Keitechs

Can similar colors be stored in the same tray in my tackle box without bleeding colors together?

Answer: They come in the plastic case for a reason the tails will stay unbent if they stay in the case. I put the different colors and sizes in small zip lock bags and put them in a plastic box on my boat. If you’re walking the bank you can just put the case in your pocket-they do not bleed color but if you use the same size,you can just use a small bag and put them in alternating heat to tail

Answer: Yes, they will not melt or bleed. Most plastics today are made from much different material than back in the day when they’d eat through the tackle box tray.

Answer: All of them seem to work. I would match the color of your local baitfish. These catch fish! If you're gonna spend more than $7 on a package I would suggest looking elsewhere like TackleWarehouse!

What kind of hook do i use?

Answer: I use Gamakatsu Superline Spring Hooks. I have weighted and non weighted from 3/0 to 6/0. There are numerous types of head and hooks available for swimbaits but I keep it simple as possible. The hook just needs to be a wide gap to get a good hookset, there is a lot of plastic on most these style baits that will clog the hooks. Hope this helps.

Answer: All depends on what size Keitech you buy,and if you are wanting to fish them weedless,the owner screw locks work the best for me,if im wanting to fish weedless,there are hook charts online to match up the size Keitech you choose

Answer: I use a 2/0 Gamakatsu Offsset hook. Rig it through the head then through the stomach area like a worm. make sure that it is straight

Answer: Most of the time I use a ball head jig with a long shank hook. Any swimbait head will work, and I'm going to experiment with a belly weighted hook.

could this work as a swim jig trailer?

Answer: Sure. Makes an awesome trailer for a swim jig. If you don't like the way it swims rigged right side up, try it upside down. I use them as trailers for chatterbaits too. And you have to rig them upside down because the blade takes away from the natural wobble of the tail.

Answer: I've never used the 2.8" version, but I've used the 3.8 as a chatterbait trailer and it worked great.

Answer: this is a great trailer for a swim jig. Especially in the smaller size. however if you are really looking to use it for this purpose only, I think you can save money and opt out of the "fat" and just get the regular swing impact.

Answer: For muddy or staind you will want a black and blue or a white because it will stand out

Not very durable, but damn that action catches fish! 6 bass on two bodies in 30 minutes. One nice crappie as well. Fished with a 1/4oz. standup jighead cuz I wanted to fish it fast. In murky water the bluegill flash pattern had em hooking up. At first I thought I should have gotten something more colorful, but these things really get their attention.

Update: I wish they were more durable, but I suppose that's a byproduct of the fact that they swim so well and lifelike. One bite tends to rip the hook through the body and renders it basically useless. Im going to try the ol superglue trick to try to get more casts.

Went through an entire pack in half a day. Catch per paddle tail about 2medium sized large mouth bass. These babies are fragile, they come off the hook extremely easy. The action is phenomenal and they absolutely produce fish! If you don't mind spending a boat load of money on these then they're for you. Just expect to lose a bunch of them. I'll be going with a more durable softbait. I'm a broke college student whom can't afford to have the swim bait fall off after a hard strike or decent fight. When I'm out of school and have a fulltime job I'd stock up on these!

Simple Bubba : Soft thicker Swim Bait

Great paddle soft swim bait to add to your jig... It is thicker in the middle giving you a more realistic body if that make sense to you'll.... Softer than StrikeKing similar type bait. So the action on the back side of your skirted jig will be different than the other brand mention. I use a 4/0 skirted jig. This is a new color for me, but I have had gr8 luck with the "Black and Blue" on the rivers here in Tampa Bay area.

Great swimming action lure and easy to rig. It has a nice indent in the body to make it weed less. They hold very well up either casting or trolling. I match the 3.8" with a 3/0 screw-pin and weighted hook, and 4/0 hook with 4.8". Can be Texas rigged as well. Overall a very well designed and quality soft plastic lure!

These puppies imitate young kelp greenling and other bait/rockfish so good you're guaranteed a bite if you're dropping down as a trailer over a 200+ shelf or plugging 5ft rocks inshore. I like that I can store them "dry" with the rest of my tackle unlike the Gulp! Mullets that need to stay in juice and they keep every bit as effective.

Great swim baits with a really good action. Doesn’t take much movement to get an amazing action out of these baits. The one down side is they are pretty soft so they don’t last super long but that is the trade off for the action.

Joseph & Lydia : Keitech's catches fish but are far too delicate and don't last. Get Rage Swimmer instead.

These work well while they are on your swim jig or whatever rig you are dressing. The problem is they are delicate and if you're getting bites you will go through these fast. The tails are easily bitten off. and Once you've dressed them on a hook once or twice, that's it. The hole begins to increase in size and they no longer stay on the hook. In fact, because they are so soft, they are often moved out of position on the hook when pulled through the weeds and after a strike. I now use Strike King Rage Swimmers - they catch fish every bit as well as the Keitech but are far more durable. They are made of a tougher rubber that lasts far longer. Amazon sells the Strike King Rage Swimmers. I know there are still long term die hard anglers that use the Keitech just like there are those that are still loyal to mono instead of braid. But I would not let that influence you.
