Hogs are a combination of design elements from Lizards, Craw fish, and worms. Think of it as the Frankenstein of baits-and it works in nearly every situation. Attracts a lot of attention, with good water displacement and a great action. Zoom uses a Salt mixture in their baits that makes a fish hold on for that extra time that gives you more hook ups.

Do you have sapphire blue ?

Answer: Yes works well spring and summer.

How do you like to fish them Texas rigged? Lift and drop like a plastic worm? Maybe quick pops with rod tip?

Answer: I always fish them Texas rigged. I lift and and drop with some times long lifts, sometimes short lifts (mix up the presentation until you find what works). Obviously brush and trees are ideal but I've caught fish on rocks and on lays downs with these.

Answer: Yes, just like a worm hoping it up off the bottom. Or I'll swim it slowly back to me twitching it the whole way back. awesome bait just stick to natural colors. Green pumpkin watermelon red Black&Blue. and NO weights maybe a split shot, they fall real nice all by them selves. If your fishing currents then of course use the lightest weight possible. Enjoy the tight lines!

Answer: I will start by just lift and dropping them. I'll pop them around and let it wait for a few seconds. I'll also drag them slowly on the bottom, especially if there is cover along the shore.

Answer: The Baby Brush Hog is approx 4 inches long, the Brush Hog is Approx 6 inches long and twice the thickness.

Answer: I use a 3/0 owner wide gap hook in open water. In weeds and bushes around stumps or any heavier structure I will use an owner 2/0 worm hook.

should i use bait caster for this item

Answer: It really doesnt matter, but i will say that my cousin and myself use spinning reels for most soft baits. I caught a 3.5lb largemouth in a wetland pond. These brush hogs have done well for me!

Answer: You can really use any type of reel for this lure. It’s a great bait for bass. My favorite color is green pumpkin. Good luck!

Answer: Don't have too. It's more about the rod. Fish this using a Texas rig. So a medium heavy rod is the minimum power you should use.

Answer: I typically do but you could use a spinning rod to fish it also.

Answer: I find they work best with a 3 ought hook. They are about 4 inches. I would recommend using the regular brush hog with a 4 ought wide gap hook over these little fellas.

Yeah I didn't listen to the other guys that did reviews and I got a baby brush hog green pumpkin red - the number is 042-202. The correct number should be a 042-139. Somebody, anybody, but probably nobody will fix this. Buyer beware. This is a great lure though just not the right color.

Throw it over lily pads or some type of plant foliage Texas rigged for lots of fun. Might not be the best for open waters but I think for top water in weeds this is probably the best thing you can through. hooked properly (I’ve been using a 5/0 (4/0 might be better but it don’t matter) offset hook, the thinner the better) you’ll rarely snag and easily hook 90% of bass that bite.
