hoe does this work? saltwater use ok?

Answer: Attach a rope for easy handling, toss it in the water, wait for it to sink to the depth you want, wait and pull up. There is a little pocket for adding bait. My 6, 8 an 10 year olds were able to use it with no problem. We used it in salt water and had no problems.

is the mesh close enough that minnows/Shiners cannot escape

Answer: Yes, that’s what I use it for is bait fish. The sides are also high enough for none to escape. I’ve had several umbrella nets and this is by far much easier to use and store.

Answer: NO,NOT EASY TO RIP

How do baitfish/minnows get into it?

Answer: You drop it in the water with bread or crackers etc., drop it on the bottom . The minnows swim over it to get the bread and you pull it up and they are trapped.

Answer: No it doesn't come with rope but there are some nice deals on poly rope for 5 or 6 bucks.

Answer: We tie it around a gaffe. We are fishing for bait fish, so we put bread in it and sink it to the bottom of shallow water. Works great for that.

Answer: As far as I can remember, it does not, and this net was all plastic, and much smaller than I expected, you will need your own soft easy on the hands line with it. I hope this answer helps... But if you are looking to round up schools of minnows in deeper waters, look for the square nets w/ an umbrella-like set up. ????✌

Whiskey Creek CBR : Fun to catch minnows and bream!

Super fun to use! I toss it in my pond and catch bream and shiners.
The food pocket is small and not very useful, so I added a Dollar Tree bra washing bag to the bottom and it works GREAT!
I have lots of fun catching fish and throwing them back.

I had to order a new one because I left it in the water overnight and something shredded it!

Really works well, catches the smallest of bait. I used potato rolls, who doesn't like soft moist potato rolls.

Used this product as a crab trap. I do not recommend for the use of crabs. Net is not heavy enough to sink to the floor for crabbing even with bait in the pocket. The first day of use it did catch a few crabs however the crabs tore a hole in the mesh netting. This net is not sturdy enough for crabbing but is good for catching bait fish.

Don’t waste ur time or money not worth it at all. First time I used it the bottom side of
the net ripped. Didn’t catch any bait fish. It takes forever for the net to sink. Waste of money and time. Not worth it! Should cost $10 nothing more.
