Net looks pretty good for the money. I have yet to get a hook stuck in it. Very soft gel material and I think it definitely helps the fish and decreases hands on activity. The quick detach is also really nice. We will see how it last through the season.

If possible, he would be on or in the lake/river 18 out of 24 hours a day - knowing he has to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom once in a while the only time he'd leave! He is also a part of the catch and release program and has won a couple of awards during competitions, so I thought for the holidays I would get him something for his favorite past time. I can see that the netting is made to do as little harm as possible to the fish so that the hook can be removed, a picture taken and the fish released. I do think he is going to be surprised and very pleased with the quality of this net!

This is really a top quality net with a really nice looking wood frame and handle. Netting is a stretchy but strong silicone type rubber that appears to be up to the task of holding any fish that will fit in this net.
Magnetic lanyard clasp is strong but will release with a solid tug. And the lanyard comes off the frame with a clasp, and also has a carabiner to attach to something else.
I see no reason to believe this net won't provide years of service to my son who just took up fishing this past year. Really nice net, very reasonable price.

So if you catch little stream trout, this net will not work. The trout flop and slip through the larger holes in the net. But for larger trout, say 10-18 inches, this net is perfect. The included caribiner and elastic strap are all you need to clip to your vest. Just make sure you double back the elastic cord to the caribiner, so when you release the magnet the elastic cord is still clipped into the caribiner.

I use this net for ultralight spinning fishing and it helped me to land couple very active trouts.
I’ve attached net to the vest with handle down, this required couple zip ties to fix magnet on the top part of wooden skeleton.
Also want to say about customer support, they been very responsive and helpful when I needed them.

Piece of junk. Used it twice and one of the magnets fell out of the housing. I didn't realize the net was gone until I was way up river.
Don't waste your time, spend the extra $10 on something that won't fall off for no reason.

This is a very lightweight but very sturdy fishing net. It’s size is perfect and very easy to handle. My favorite part about it though is that the netting is made of plastic. It’s super easy to clean afterwards and doesn’t keep that lingering “fishy” smell like other more traditional netting would.
